There's an ongoing smear campaign going on against the actress. Lots of delulu bs every day, some of the crazies are already being sued. Some people speculate she's being targeted by the very agency she's been wanting to quit from, as it looks very coordinated.

Ha, if only. She's a good actress, but some of the dramas she was in had very questionable plots and characters. Don't be a blind fan, rate dramas as a full package, like opera.

Anyway, so far it's hard to say how this drama's gonna go. Looks ok in the first few episodes, with some fresh things like the imaginary schizo people. But it's 40 episodes long, plenty of time fk this up with draggy plot.

Maybe because the synopsis doesn't sound like it's gonna be something fresh? I mean, these types of costume cdramas all have the same tropes - wronged leads, revenge, incessant scheming and plotting, underdogs ascending to power, swoonworthy set pieces for easily captivated by visuals, etc. You just likely seen a number of them and struggle to find a hook.
That's how it is for me, at least. I'm in it for the plot, not the visuals or tik tok reels. We'll see how it manages.

Same. Very true.
There were some overhyped dramas with these actors that I just couldn't get into because of the plot or characters, like SOKP or LOTFG, for example. But I liked Bai Lu's recent Unveil Jadewind a lot because of the character she portrayed there, very cool. Not her typical one. And the plot was great too, even though not everyone's cup of tea since it was a grim historical detective drama, not the usual soap.

He simply returned to his own body in the present. While suppresed queen's soul regained control of her body. He also changed history while being in her body, as he learned by checking a history book, so the king's life changed as well.
What pissed me the most about that ending is that the king fell in love with the queen when the guy was controlling her body, when she became quirky af. The real queen's soul was asleep most of the time. So her returning back, even with saved memories from the guy, didn't mean she gonna be the same person the king loved. The guy was also content to be living in her body by the end, so him going back kinda sucked. And I think I'm not the only one here, judging by so many people not liking that ending.

With streaming services nowadays I don't think it's a big problem to have one with og actors's VA and the rest can be regional dubs, unless all of the actors can't speak one standard dialect (which likely most of them can).

I prefer original language with subs, any sort of dubs bother me. Though from what I've seen in recent cdramas, they're using actors' own voices.

It's normal if actors dub themselves in post production, some scenes are way too noisy for on set VA. However, I don't get why they'd dub actors' VA with some other actors' VA. They think actors' voices are not pretty enough? Wtf, that usually sounds so fake.

Could be, I've read some people are speculating it's a mistranslation and, like you say, some sort of PTSD. But who knows, scizophrenic character could be something fresh, though it'd certainly add more angst if they gonna go for realism with it.

Thanks for clarifying. I haven't seen others mentioning where the info is from. But what you're basically saying is that nobody actually knows what the plot's about since it seems like it's based on the og plot, but not a 1:1 adaptation.
If they goona add schizophrenia into the plot, I hope it's not just for some character flavor. There are serious things like that, that are often added and then conveniently forgotten, or magically cured later down the line. Gotta commit till the end, if you add this, no matter how bad it's gonna get.

I'm still gonna watch it, gotta check out dramas yourself to see if they're worth the time. I don't trust the hype and crazy raving though. Too many overhyped ones I didn't care much about in the end.

Yea, another thing is that people are saying there won't be that reincarnation trope. What's the basis for this? Somebody knows the drama plot already? Cuz so far just looks like a lot of speculations. You can't judge what's gonna be in or out simply by the trailer. I've read it was barely mentioned in the novel, could be a spoiler down the line in the drama not spoiled in the trailer.

I've seen people saying FL is going to be a schizophrenic judging by the trailer. But will she really? Trailers are often baity af.

The drama has whooping 40 episodes, so prob gonna be lots of draggy politics and scheming involved with lots of side characters, can't all be just about the leads romance and struggles. But who knows?

So overall, I'm sceptical. The novel'd def bore me to tears. Hoping for a more lively drama plot, but if it's gonna be all politics and ridiculous scheming, then I'm probably out. Seen enough of these cplots already.

SFL wasn't married anymore, she divorced her husband and returned from abroad to get together with ML.

ML decided to apologize because FL urged him to, reasoning it will end the hate cycle and everybody involved'd feel better. They badly argued right after that, but he listened. He understood everything later and it was his character's development catharsis. Even if he wasn't in the wrong, somebody had to start apologizing and resolving misunderstandings, he ended up a better person than them by doing that.
And it was good to see that most of them understood that they were unreasonable. The only thing I didn't like was ML making up with SML, that guy turned out to be trash. I'd personally wouldn't be able to trust him anymore. But I guess ML was in a very forgiving mood and he was his only friend.

I’m simply looking for a good plot here, but I’m still sceptical because of heavy politicking in the novel. If they gonna do away with most of it like in UJ, then ok, I’ll watch for the actress. But then again, what else is there to show? UJ focused on investigations at least, here looks like it’s gonna be the usual - politics and ridiculous squabbles for power.

You can’t tell be the trailer, they always show the baity scenes. So how can you know when it’s not even out yet?

I've just read a lengthy novel summary (thanks to that poster). Waaaay too much politicking, not sure if it's gonna be my cup of tea if they focus on that. Though not sure they can even cram half of it in the drama either, plot looks way too long.
