uhmmm....love bjt but WHAT??? Pinocchio??? like THE pinocchio??? The show with the overall theme and massage completely…
Even if they manage to do a fantastic job with changing the script, there's no way they can successfully convey the massage of the original story without getting political and that story would really be nothing without it...Like pinocchio was not really a romance centered or even mystery/thriller centered drama, all of those things were side stories to help make the main theme stand out which I don't think would be allowed in according to what I know about NRTA guidelines lmao
uhmmm....love bjt but WHAT??? Pinocchio??? like THE pinocchio??? The show with the overall theme and massage completely opposing the big devil called censorship??? The show that harshly criticized cherry picking in media coverage???? 😭 That's too ironic idk what to say...
maturing is realizing SF was super toxic for always making decisions that he THOUGHT were good for XJ without discussing them with her...You'd suffer from an awful amount of unfixable emotional damage if you date such a person in real life but it was constantly romanticized in the drama and portrayed as "selfless lover behavior" while leaving 0 room for the audience to sympathize with XJ. (she suffered so much, she watched her mother die in front of her eyes when she was a child too, imagine the trauma that'd cause??? she went through so much pain in all her lifetimes too and she endured such a grave sorrow and was probably depressed for a long time when her one and only loved one constantly lied to her about hating her just like SF but the show never wanted us to see it, all we saw was HIS "suffering") That's why everyone hates her so much and assumes she's a stupid heartless hypocrite who doesn't "deserve" such a perfect man...Xuanji deserves better, I'll always be on her side :(
I didn't mean that I don't like non romance shows...just not that interested in male centric narratives lol but I hope if there's bg romance it's not forced and the female characters play a proper part in the story rather than just being love interest(s)
yeah now that I'm thinking, Meng Ziyi became a target of misogynist harassment on the internet since the untamed which was also directed by this director and he did absolutely nothing to defend the poor woman he willingly worked with(she's still harrassed)...I just want him to never come even close to any woman. stick to your men mr steve cheng...hope zxd walks away from this too
Just the fact that they were making up rumours about her trying to "buy" more screentime tells you how messed…
yup! I'm all for more queer media but women don't have any place in it, at least not in cdramaland yet lol. And yes to LYT as Siming 😭 have been rooting for it since the first day clj aired
yadda yadda bold of you to assume I give a flying fvck about a straight couple and that cursed show I litterally just thought xu lu was gonna be in it and she isn't so I just don't care anymore ... get lost you spammer burner account freak I litterally see your weird jobless ass harassing random people left and right on every social media platform weirdo
Just the fact that they were making up rumours about her trying to "buy" more screentime tells you how messed…
tbh, the audience is even more misogynist than the industry itself and it makes sense. Despite all the unfairness and sexism, women are still reigning and big female stars are more popular and make more noise than the big male ones, that's why they KNOW if women are given as much of a time to shine as men and get treated fairly, they're just gonna TAKE OVER compeletly and that's a threat to their geges. I'm glad that LYT didn't take this and the whole drama surrounding the project can be a really good source of analysis and discussion over the gender discrimination in the industry. 3/3
(This is gonna be a long and outrageous comment so I'll split it into 3 parts lol)Cdrama streaming platforms have…
Just the fact that they were making up rumours about her trying to "buy" more screentime tells you how messed up things are...women have to "buy" it while men just get it with some discussion with the production team or not even that, they're already favored bc they're men and directors, writers and etc are also men most of the times....they switch the center of female centric stories to men, reduce FL's screentime, her importance, her character's complexity and then make the ML a perfect saint who is always sacrificing for the 'ungrateful' woman to force an image they want onto the actor and feed it to the audience...2/3
(This is gonna be a long and outrageous comment so I'll split it into 3 parts lol) Cdrama streaming platforms have been joining hands with a good bunch of male actors' pr teams to ruin female centric novels and turn them compeletly into male centric the last couple of years and nobody bat an eyelash (they actually praise them for how smart of a marketing strategy they're using to make gege a star instead of blaming them for stealing women's job opportunities who are already not given even half as much attention on media as men), but people just HEARD rumours of lyt wanting a female centric drama and to have the spotlight and went MAD mad...laughing and crying at the non ending sexist hypocrisy in the industry. 1/3
you're litterally skinny shaming thinking you're being a progressive critical thinker 😭 talking about ppl's bodies like that is actually gross and disgusting, it's not "disencourging harsh diets that make you look weak". And btw I've seen you make comments on how you're "worried" about certain actor not being healthy enough bc his face looked chubbier than before on another drama page too, you're in no place to talk about ppl's bodies like this and constantly assume who's healthy and who's not...you think you're being body positive but this behavior is just weird and ugly, stop it.
I just simply saw xu lu on a melon acc and got worried because I really like her and this looks awful. I bow and fall on my knees if the acc was wrong and made a typo your highness. I beg you to forgive me for my grave sins 🤒
