does it hurt anybody's pride to write a gaming drama that has the female character being better at gaming and her teaching the ml??? It's always the ml being a rude narcissistic piece of sh!t who always makes fun of fl and treats her awfully for not being a good gamer in the process of "teaching" her...it wasn't that serious at first but the obsession with this dynamic is starting to get weird
I usually don't care about dramas that don't have a main female character (looking at men on screen more than 15 minutes has me dozing off lol) but actually really looking forward to this one...i don't exactly know why it just grabbed my attention
Dropping this for people who might want to know, if you've ever watched the kdramas "One spring night", "something in the rain" or other shows from the same writer, this show has a very similar vibe to it, just a bit more comedy than angst but the slow burn, realism, the social commentary and even the production is very close. If you liked those you will highly probably like this one, if you didn't then you might not like it. (I think OSN was much better than SIR and find SAHPH closer to OSN though)

for instance I really like how the FL is strong and good in her job, but not the tropy shallow "girlboss" strong. She's imperfect and has her own struggles and does aslo not treat people around her like sh!t lol. And the male lead is also not just the innocent puppy younger guy who steals jiejie' heart, he's actually a super introverted nerd who has very adorably strange ideas on the philosophy of life and existence, does respect women and has a little bit of a shady mysterious background ^_^ the main leads are pretty unique

It REALLY depends on your taste though...like I genuinely love this genre of dramas if they're well made and find it enjoyable to watch them on cold seasons but there are many who find them boring 🤷🏻♀ The legal plot is okay but the character writing is actually amazing imo. The main leads are not tropes, they actually have depth and it really shows through everything they do, from their way of dealing with work, parents, friends, body language and even their drunken habits lmao...The unique characteristics and the steady, believable growth in the main leads' relationship is my favorite thing about it and it actually makes it stand out from the other modern romcoms. (and btw I'm not a fan of neither of the leads, I actually don't even like most of their previous projects lol)

I'm actually so glad YM is finally in a more serious drama. Really love the writer's interpretation of a "strong woman" in here, QS is strong but an imperfect human being with an actual personality rather than a girlboss persona or the perfect fantasy of a strong woman usually represented on this kind of shows! Both main leads are actually very unique and unusual and the whole show is interestingly NOT tropy at all despite the plot's core being based on the mother of all tropes aka arranged marriage lmao. Wasn't expecting it to be this interesting! And btw what's wrong with mdl users always rating shitty idol dramas so high but the actually good realistic ones low smh..
