Well I guess you chose all of them, as you are in the comment section of Yoo Yeon Seok's drama+ you know that…
I did not watch a single episode of it girl 😭 you should expect everyone and their mama to be informed when they make a mess so huge you see 200k posts under the hashtag trending for a whole day lmfao
choose your circle of hell: wattpad plot, yys or shitty war propaganda
Though actually after reading the comments related to the og novel's plot and knowing the kindergarten level story of it, I actually believe the scriptwriter of the drama is not smart enough to spread propaganda and is actually a very ignorant idiot.
Genuinely hope this ends up being super well written (both the 1st and 2nd half plzzzz we do nawt want the lyf tragedy to repeat itself) so that the year starts with a hit and brings good luck for the rest of 2025 cdramaland
Since you love to be embarrassed, I did actually count based on 81 dramas that started and finished airing within 2024 (you can go and count yourself from dramapotatoe's pinned on twitter if you STILL don't believe) and this is LITTERALLY how it goes: Focused on the female character: 23 dramas Focused on male character: 32 dramas Focused on both/neutral: 26
conclusions: Women do not have a priority or privilege whatsoever in the c-ent industry. Just bc you only watch super popular romance with resourceful and famous actresses, the rest of the dramas are not gonna magically vanish. Hope this helped.
1: That's statistically not true at all. I can litterally count. 2: Most of these historical romance and xianxia shows you watch are adapted from jjwxc novels. That's a platform for women web novel authors so of course women are gonna write about women's journies and their growth. 3: One of the very 1st fundamentals they teach you at writing (if you take a cours) is that every story HAS to have ONE protagonist who leads the narrative. That doesn't mean the other characters are gonna be useless and unimportant, it's litterally just basic storytelling logic. Even the romance dramas you consider couple centred have only one of those 2 chars as the protagonist.
these platforms always trying to pit women against eachother and to create rivalry between them while I'm always thriving and squealing in joy everytime they air pretty girls' dramas at the same time like idk to me that means this is gonna be the month of beautiful women
the way there's still no official poster is crazy 💀 I personally love art posters but it's very odd for a cdrama bc the illustrated posters are usually what they go with in the very beginning of their announcement and they tend to make something with the leads on it after a few months of filming lol
It's absolutely insane when you think about the fact that lu yuxiao litterally became famous and they've still not aired this ijbol (someone removed her from this page but she was like not officially but for 90% confirmed as yu shiguang here)
