I feel bad, but I spent the whole weekend watching all 16 episodes straight. I just sat on the couch and enjoyed this amazing series and I’m not even halfway yet. Chinese dramas are so long, yet so addictive. Does anyone know any dramas similar to this?

I agree with you, but I remember people were already rating it 10/10 even before it aired. MDL allowed viewers to rate the series before release. I love both actors and I do like this show, but I’m just saying there are better ones out there. Let’s wait until all 10 episodes are out and see whether the rating goes up or down.

Also, their previous series Never Let Me Go had a stronger plot in my opinion, and I genuinely found it much better, yet it only sits at an 8/10. That’s exactly why I’m questioning the current hype and rating.

Not sure what you meant by “sock accounts” why would I have multiple accounts? I don’t need you to like or agree with my comment. I’m simply pointing out that there are other shows with stronger plots and production.

If you disagree, then are you saying this is the best GMMTV series ever made? Because that’s the level its current rating suggests, and I personally don’t think it reaches that standard.

We all love PondPhuwin, but honestly, after watching four episodes, does this series really deserve to sit at 8.8 as the highest rated BL of all time?

When you compare it to shows like Revenged Love, Bad Buddy, Love in the Moonlight, Secret Relationships, To My Shore, School Trip and KinnPorsche, all of which have stronger plots, richer cinematography and more cohesive storytelling, it makes the rating feel a little questionable.

Sometimes I wonder if MDL ratings truly reflect quality or if fanbases, especially one as strong as PondPhuwin’s, play a big role in boosting scores.

It is a good show, absolutely. But do you genuinely think it should be ranked the highest BL out of more than 700+ BLs on MDL?

How is the writing bad? It’s addictive, with a good plot and strong acting. If you watch episode 8, the acting and writing are actually really impressive. It definitely deserves over an 8.4. It might not be your cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine and clearly a lot of people on here feel the same, judging by all the positive comments and reviews.

I need to rewatch the episode because I am not sure if Lu Zhen actually left or if he was there witnessing everything. If he was still there, then as an ex-boyfriend he should have stepped in and hugged Shu Lang to comfort him when he kicked Fan Xiao out the door. Shu Lang was crying and having a complete meltdown. They may not be partners anymore, but I would still do that if I were him.

Are there any novel readers who know the answer?

Episode 8 when Lu Zhen was in the tuk-tuk and missed a few stops, the local spoke in Thai but he replied in Chinese. These Chinese actors clearly can’t speak Thai, so it would’ve been more realistic if they used English when talking to the locals instead.

Can we give a round of applause to all the actors, the production team, the crew, the staff, and the directors. They literally had to fly from China to Thailand to film this just to avoid censorship from the Chinese government.

I’ve been to Thailand twice and I’m going again in a couple of weeks, and let me tell you, Thailand is extremely hot, even during the cool/dry season. These actors were filming in full suits, in a foreign country, without knowing the Thai language, and still delivered such an incredible performance.

The series was shot in Thailand, that’s why. I actually think it’s realistic because the locals still speak Thai.

Hioki’s accidental confession saying I like you has to be one of the cutest moments I have ever seen. It slipped out so naturally and so honestly that it hit me straight in the heart. I cannot believe there are only two episodes left. This simple high school story has given me so much joy and comfort for the past two months and I am genuinely not ready to say goodbye. Watching their slow growth, their hesitant steps toward each other and the warmth they bring into every scene has been such a beautiful journey.
I need a season two. I want to see them at university living their life side by side finally a couple moving in together and building something real. It hurts knowing this chapter is ending just when their story is blooming. I am going to miss them so much.

Both Fan Xiao and Shu Lang delivered such powerful acting that it genuinely hurts to think about it. Shu Lang’s tears felt raw and unfiltered, like his entire world collapsed the moment he revealed the truth. You could feel his heartbreak tearing through every second of that scene. He carried that pain so beautifully that it stays with you long after the episode ends.

The interrogation scene between the three of them was incredible. The tension, the fear, the confusion, and then that text message arriving at the worst possible moment, adding another layer of chaos and devastation. It was breathtaking in the most painful way.

And Fan Xiao... he is absolutely a manipulator and a liar, but the tragic thing is that the love he has for Shu Lang feels painfully real. It is twisted, broken, and selfish, yet you can see it in his eyes that he loves him in a way he cannot control. That kind of love hurts to watch.

Whoever wrote episode 8 poured their soul into it, and they deserve a pay rise for creating something that emotional, heartbreaking, and unforgettable.

Han Jae Hun literally ate not only the cake but Kim Hae Jun as well.

A lot of people don’t like this series, but for me it’s fun, short and simple. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I enjoy it.

It’s like people who don’t like spicy food yet keep ordering it every week and then complain later,
if it’s not your thing, then just don’t watch it.
