It’s clear we don’t agree, and that’s fine, but you really didn’t need to go that far and call my analogy rubbish. We’re allowed to have different opinions without disrespect.
I’m not lowering myself to keep going back and forth with you. You’re not worth any more of my time. Have a great night.
Let’s all ask MDL to remove rating, see if that will make a difference.
A fan site listing a general age rating is not life-or-death information, it’s not “safeguarding law,” and it’s not something that determines whether a child watches a show. It’s guidance, nothing more.
And if warnings and labels truly prevented behaviour, the world wouldn’t look the way it does:
• Cigarettes have massive cancer warnings, and people still smoke.
• Alcohol has age limits and health warnings, and teenagers still drink.
• Every streaming platform has its own rating system, and kids still find ways to watch what they want.
So pretending that MDL listing an age rating is some critical “safeguarding negligence” is unrealistic. The responsibility ultimately lies with the platform showing the drama (Netflix, iQIYI, etc.) and with the viewers or parents, not a fan site that simply aggregates info.
Your fire-exit analogy doesn’t hold up because no one is telling viewers to ignore danger or stay in harm’s way. MDL isn’t giving instructions that could physically hurt anyone. It’s simply listing information that can differ between countries and streaming services.
Comparing a mismatched rating to “people dying in a fire” is not only extreme, it makes your argument weaker, not stronger.
MDL is not a streaming service and it is not an official rating authority. It is a fan-curated platform with user-submitted information. Expecting MDL to function like the official bodies that assign PG, M, MA or R+ classifications is simply not realistic. They do not have the legal obligation, the authority or the infrastructure to update every show’s rating with perfect accuracy.
Official age ratings come from licensed platforms like iQIYI, YouTube, GagaOOLala and Viki, Netlix not from MDL. When a show is released legally, those platforms display the correct classification. MDL showing a user-submitted rating does not make them legally responsible for safeguarding children. Sites like IMDb, Letterboxd and Rotten Tomatoes function the same way. They provide community data, not official parental controls.
Even if MDL removed all age ratings tomorrow, minors who watch through illegal streaming sites would still not be protected. Pirated platforms do not display PG, M, MA or R+ warnings and they do not care about age restrictions. Illegal sites are the reason children can access inappropriate content, not MDL.
And honestly, having a rating on MDL, even if it turns out to be inaccurate sometimes, is still better than having no rating at all. Removing all ratings would remove all guidance for parents and viewers.
As for the handbag example, the point still stands. If someone chooses to use a non-official source, they cannot blame a completely different platform for not protecting them. The official sources like iQIYI, YouTube, GagaOOLala and Viki clearly display the correct R18+ classification. That is where viewers should be checking for accurate ratings.
MDL is a community guide. It is not a regulatory agency, it is not a legal authority and it is not a streaming platform. Expecting them to uphold legal safeguarding standards is asking them to do a job that was never their responsibility in the first place.
Even if MDL did not exist, children would still access illegal sites, and those sites would not display any warnings to protect them while exposing them to harmful advertising and content. MDL cannot be blamed for choices made on illegal platforms.
And in this case the show is officially rated R18+ on iQIYI. Viewers should rely on the official source for age classifications, not expect MDL to instantly update or manage every rating on behalf of every country and streaming service. That’s simply not realistic.
We also shouldn’t be encouraging illegal streaming. Actors, directors, editors, cameramen and the entire crew work extremely hard to create these shows. They deserve to be supported the proper way on licensed platforms. If younger viewers choose to watch on illegal sites where ratings aren’t shown, that is their choice, it is not MDL’s responsibility to protect people who intentionally bypass legal sources.
To put it into real life perspective:
If someone buys a fake designer handbag from a street market and the stitching falls apart, you don’t blame the real designer brand. You blame the person who chose to shop illegally. The same applies here. If someone uses pirate sites that don’t show warnings or ratings, the blame is on the user and the pirate site, not on MDL.
Official platforms like iQIYI provide the correct R18+ rating. MDL is a fan community, not an official classification board.
And thank you for saying that you specialise in web development and wouldn’t mind helping, but realistically it’s impossible. MDL monitors thousands, if not millions, of shows across different countries, genres and platforms. There is no way for one person or even a small team of volunteers to manually maintain accurate ratings for every single title. The scale alone makes it unmanageable.
That’s exactly why official ratings should be taken from licensed platforms like iQIYI, not from a community site that was never designed to act as an official regulator.
Can we pause for a moment and appreciate how incredibly sweet episode six was. It felt like watching two people quietly slip into love without even realising it was happening.
FanXiao waited for ShuLang to finish work and pick him up. They held hands as they walked down the street, looking like a couple who had already chosen each other long before either of them said the words. There was something so gentle and tender in the way they moved together.
During the painting session, FanXiao admitted he might lose everything. The fear in his voice was so raw. But ShuLang looked at him and said that he would not lose everything because he would still have him. He promised that if that day ever came, he would look after him. The way he said it felt like a vow. If that is not love then what is.
FanXiao changed the house lock, replaced all the photos with their couple photos and stepped into the kitchen to cook. He did everything that someone does when they quietly start imagining a future. They were already living like a real couple and it was beautiful.
When FanXiao accidentally spilled oil on himself, ShuLang immediately rushed over, kissed his hand gently and whispered that he had missed him. Their soft kitchen kiss after that felt so full of warmth. FanXiao saying he wanted to eat him first made the whole scene even sweeter.
At the dining table, while holding hands, ShuLang called FanXiao babe and told him not to be jealous. It was so intimate and natural that all I could think was that they should just get married already.
Then came the scene that completely broke me. ShuLang took FanXiao to his mother’s grave and said he had finally found the one. Man or woman it did not matter because he had found his soulmate, someone who treated him well and made him feel cherished. FanXiao stood there frozen, nervous and shaken, because at the beginning his intentions were never serious. He only wanted to play around without realising how deeply ShuLang loved him. Watching ShuLang shed tears in front of his mother’s grave because of him was heartbreaking. That moment alone felt like the emotional centre of the entire story.
I keep hoping the plot will truly reflect the line that says FanXiao tries to entice ShuLang into a relationship only to fall for him for real. Because that is exactly what it feels like right now. And just like in Revenged Love, if ShuLang ever learns the truth, I know they will be torn apart for a while. But they love each other too deeply to stay separated. They would always find their way back because life without each other would be unbearable.
To be honest, that was a light punishment. It was just a small burn on his hand so he knows what FanXiao is capable of. In ABO Desire, HuaYong literally destroyed his brother’s hand for ruining the painting of his lover.

I love the flashback showing how Watarai started liking Hioki, how everything quietly began. It wasn’t just some random crush. Being popular isn’t always a blessing, and it was Hioki’s small gestures and simple words that pulled Watarai in. After watching episode seven, everything makes sense and connects beautifully back to episode one.
Only three episodes left. I’m already feeling sad. I’m really going to miss this show. It’s become my little Sunday comfort, something I look forward to every week.
Than has already been through so much. Imagine finally getting married and then becoming a widower the next day. The pain would completely destroy him.
Pheem might seem like a red flag but he’s that way because of everything he endured, fighting for revenge for his mother and growing up without love from his father or siblings. He became who he is because of all that hurt.
And in the end, he let all of that go. He walked away from inheriting the billionaire hospital because, standing at his mother’s grave, he admitted that having everything means nothing when he’s still alone. Than is the one he truly needed. He even left all his assets to Than and was willing to change his name and have nothing just to be with him.
For me, someone who chooses love over power, family over wealth, and healing over hatred doesn’t deserve death. If he died, Than would suffer for the rest of his life. That’s why the ending was perfect. If Pheem had actually died, it wouldn’t have been a good ending at all.
