I agree with you for each country to continue to explore what they are good at. The audience does adore certain plots and styles. Hence the variation in preferences. Thanks for responding. Maybe since Disney plus and Netflix have take up the mantle to sponsor some of the dramas,Im hoping for greater appreciation.
This drama could stand on its own. However many woukd have seen the Korean version. I preffered this one because the actors are talented and played their roles ,perfectly. Give it try, it is worth it.

I do find the animated loud female characters cringy and this one was quite the opposite and I appreciated that. I do like the actor and he has done versitile roles. I honestly did enjoy the show. Maybe it was a 'yum' for me at the time.
I have seen alot of Live actions since and enjoyed some. I wouldnt change my review ; however my opinion has changed in appreciation for both genre.
Please give the show a chance. Do not compare it with "hidden Love". There are high expectations of the plot being like "Hidden Love". It was not meant to be. We got Sang Zhi's Story and we loved it. This is her brother's story Sang Yan's story. While we would have loved seeing the original actors of the parent story (hidden Love) the focus isn't on them. From what I have seen so far the show has its style and attractions. The plot takes place while Sang Zhi is a young girl and continues after she gets together with Duan Jia Xu.
Unlike Hidden Love, we get the present and revisit the high school past. In this plot, the female lead, Wen Yi Fan, has trauma to deal with whereas in Hidden Love it is Duan Jia Xu (Male Lead). The common supporter was Sang Yan, so he has his own love story now. Let us just watch the show and I'm sure we will appreciate it. I am enjoying it.
Would Someone please give this actor a substantial ML role. He is sooooo talented with expressions and delivery of dialogues. Ive seen him in supporting acting roles and he stole the moments with his deliveries. He is young and has shown potential.
