One of my favorite things in the drama is the slow-burn romance. I love how the Marquis waited patiently for Shiyi…
I've read through so many of the posts and yours is the first that has any understanding of the Marquis and his patience with the new young wife. Thank you. I'm at epi 18 and although I wish for more "love" between them, it makes sense that he's kind and lets her grow up, unlike so many of the other men of that period. I think watchers forget that this man is a warrior, he isn't all sweetness and grace, he doesn't really know how to love which is why he is the way he is with his children. As soon as the new young wife started taking care of his youngest son, she sort of taught him how to be gentle and encouraging with the little boy. He's allowed his first wife and mother to choose the concubines because to me he honestly could care less, if it made them happy and off his back he was fine. It's like after his son was born to his wife, then he really didn't care for any of the woman, until he found out that the new wife wasn't as grasping as all the others.
Hi i have a question, I just started watching it today. I saw in episode 1, ML already has 2 wives? Am I right…
thank you so much, was wondering when Evil Concubine got the karma she deserved. This answered my question. My other question now is WHEN? LOL. On epi 17 and it couldn't happen fast enough for me.
i'm at episode 13, loving the drama so far. But can someone just spoil this for me, what episode does that bitch…
I was really hoping someone would have spoiled this for me too. Just waiting and I'm only on epi 17 and it still hasn't happened. Hopefully you've watched this all the way through and can give me the answer to your question. Thanks.
I did too surprise surprise, I got a huge laugh out of epi 52 when they were trying to decide what to call each other besides The Chairman and Ms. Park.
This story is a clear example of cliche story plot and ridiculous scheming of characters. The ML and FL just break…
watched the whole thing and I agree, took a lot of patience and willpower. The parents made me scream and want to pull my own hair out, Dan Dan's compliance with everything, her father's demands, etc. where another hair raising situation. I guess living in the west where we have free will and we know we have the right to tell our parents - let me live my life - makes shows like this a real test of endurance.
Can't believe I watched all 52 eps, I was sucked in by the drama, though. I asked my Korean friend about the fuss…
the proposal scene was amazing to me. I had read that he was a guitarist and singer and he certainly went for it. I watched on Viki and the scene played out. Dan Dan even asked about him playing the guitar and he said he'd been doing it all his life or something along that line. If you have Viki at least go in and watch the last epi with the proposal, it's worth the watch.
I just dropped YLAG because some of the characters, especially that stepmother of Dan Dan's, were getting so much…
on epi 38 and boy do I get it about the step mother, money money money, that's her. It looks like at this point all of the younger members of Dan Dan's family are going to end up with members of the Chairman's family or those close to them. The mothers are beyond obnoxious. I love the housekeeper/cook at the Chairman's home, but what a gossip, LOL. And all the promises in the world would never keep that old madam in my home...she would be out as soon as I found a padded cell for her.
how many epi do I need to endure of him having amnesia and being engaged to Chief Jo? at epi 37 now and she finally got found out after decimating the whole family. The mothers in the show are a whole class among themselves, selfish and inconsiderate of their children, but the Dan Dan's father was in another whole class. How many secrets did he think he could keep from not only Dan Dan, but from his wife and the rest of the family and I'll never understand why the son's didn't speak up. I keep telling myself it's all about respect in the East, but come on, it looks like especially in these shows that the respect they are expected to show, only leads to pain for the children and the parents don't seem to care about that. Dan Dan's father saw what finding out about her mother did to her, then he turns around and keeps the secret about the Chairman's memory and instructs the whole family to do that too. This show has made me so sad and so mad at the same time, I ended up having to go to the last epi just to see if I could watch everything from 40 to 53. It was worth watching those last 13 epi. The Chairman's sister started out as this flip, immature, silly 30 something in love with a younger man (Dan Dan's) brother and turned into a great character, protective of her older brother and not afraid to stand up to her mother, who was a whole class of crazy herself. I understand wanting to protect your children, that's world wide and certainly not age related, this show just took it to a whole other level and not a healthy one.
I just dropped YLAG because some of the characters, especially that stepmother of Dan Dan's, were getting so much…
only on epi 10 and someone in here mentioned they fast forwarded through the parts with all the mothers. Can definitely see why, talk about a bunch of really annoying characters. To shorten this a bit, that is exactly what I've started doing. I know they are all plotting, so nothing new.
currently skipping all parts with the moms, all of them are terrible and annoying
I agree and I'm only 4 epi in. I especially dislike the step-mother...want to scream at her every scene she's in, want to scream at the father for putting up with her lazy butt.
All I can say is wow. Watching Epi 30 and the female lawyer, no matter how many times he's told her that he doesn't…
I don't think I can wait...the lawyer took the info in for DNA testing, please someone tell me that she gets in big trouble, or does she try to blackmail him into marrying her to keep the secret?
It looked like Z. Tao was not interested in acting but still has to act unwilling because of no other choice.…
IMO, I think because of his "secret" the character is really closed off, at least that's how I took the dead eyes, etc. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since this is the first drama I've seen him in. (I'm pretty new at these cdramas).
