I'm on my 3rd day, epi 38 and absolutely loving every bit of it, except maybe the grandmother who should be locked away somewhere, LOL.

I also didn't consider her naive. She was smart, but smart in a different way than most girls her age in that time. She could have been an engineer. She didn't know about men and women because of the way she was raised, with little to no love. She slowly came to understand.

I always watch these and think the same, but then I have to tell myself, that they are making a movie about that time. Men and women didn't kiss, they barely touched, so we can't exactly expect face eating kisses.

I understand why.

this is my first drama of this genre that I've watched. I'm in love with them if they are similar. Zhao Lu Si is one of my favorites, no matter what she's in, but this is just so good. I have trouble keeping up on which of the royals is which, but I love Lu Si's character, she's got grit and doesn't let her past stop her, or it pushes her forward. A lot of people didn't like the chemistry between M & FL's but I loved it. For a man who devoted his life to the military and the Emperor, he found someone he could be gentle with, but she, who had never had gentleness had a hard time trusting that anyone could love her. I watched the 1st 27 epi in 2 days, figure I'll get through this one sometime early tomorrow morning, thankfully I'm retired and can do that because I'm having a hard time walking away from it. This is just so good.

I agree about the mother, but I love the male lead.

I'm only on epi 2 and it's just made me laugh so much. The FL is one of my favs anyway, but the writing of this, to me, is just hysterical. The Grandmother with all her histrionics, then straight face when she thinks nobody is watching, the FL and her fake sickness, I just think it's all so funny. IMO you can't get better than Zhao Lu Si and although I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a drama or what, I find it really funny. People in here posted about the mother (I'm assuming they mean the FL's mother) coldness to the FL, it's to be expected, she went off and left the child and came back to a grownup who has had to depend on herself, they don't even know each other, and the mother led a very different kind of life all those years. I'm looking forward the two leads getting together. Fortunately, the father gets a kick out of all his daughters' tricks and is more willing to get to know her after all the years away. EDIT: Ok, I have to edit this. I am hating the FL's mother. now that the niece is being left in their care and the mother keeps saying she will treat her as her daughter, while being so nasty with her own daughter. This definitely isn't a comedy.

oh no...I'm only on epi 15 and have cried like a baby through a lot of it, please, now I'm going to be weeping in epi 17 too. When can I get happy again?

his laugh has made me laugh and made me cringe, mostly laugh.

the amnesia is like 1 epi before he gets the majority of his memory back, but he's also dealing with some sort of possibly genetic disease that has taken the men in his family. Point is, the amnesia story is not long

I agree, I was even advocating for a manbun and I'm never in favor of those, LOL.

on epi 10 and after watching the Japanese version, I just have to know 1 thing - is the baby born. Now on to this one, does the karma get the step mother?
The ML's hair, OMG...what is the deal with that, normally I'm not a fan of the man bun, but please, put that man's hair in a bun, LOL. And his laugh, again, OMG. So far, it's made me laugh and cry both, but I need answers to my first question, please.

I loved this version, I loved both the lead actors. In my imagination she comes back like you said and he works thur his stuff with Anna (who I think should be blamed for the majority of the sadness in the last 2 epi.)

I really thought they intended to do a second season when I saw the intro with the FL & ML in their wedding attire, so what in the heck happened. It would be perfect if they would go back to it now.

oh man, I'm just on epi 9 and now I read the remarks...this is going to end badly according to all the remarks. Ok, just finished all 10 epi and have to agree...where in the heck is the ending on this. I should have believed all the comments.

don't know if I agree with her being adorable, but I'm only 5 in so things will change I'm sure and I wish she would not put her hair in pigtails, looks terrible, but I absolutely have to agree, ML is Hot with a capital H.

my best friend growing up, her parents were twins who married twins...it was odd when I'd see all 4 together it took a bit to figure out who was who.

why do the writers of these drama's insist on making the FL spineless when it comes to their friends. this fl's best friend sold her house right out from under her and other than the few punches in the boxing ring, she lets the friend get away with it. In the 2nd epi all the friend can think about is how this marriage is going to benefit her. When are the writers going to figure out that for the most part, women don't function that way, most of us would go for her throat and we would not continue to be friends with her or it would take a super human amount of groveling to get back into good graces.

Started watching this 3 weeks ago when I realized that all the epi were not available, so stopped at 20 to wait to be able to binge the whole series. I'm picking up bits and pieces of it from clips and from in here and now I'm wondering if I should just stop where I'm at. The mother is the typical tiger mother in these dramas, someone who should be locked away in a tower somewhere and fed thru a port in the door. The ML as much as I like him needs to walk away fast, he's told her he doesn't want to run the company that he doesn't want a loveless marriage like his parents had and she just gives him that deer in the headlight look and he caves. That's what I've gotten from 20 epi, I can only hope it improves in the next 19.

as I stated, I only watched this for Dennis. Started once before and just could not deal with the FL, she was very unappealing to me, silly and a doormat to her family. I gave it another shot because I'm trying to get through my list of shows to watch. I'm now into epi 24 and although she still doesn't appeal to me, I really am looking forward to her blasting her cousin, the woman is a selfish witch and I hope she ends up with nothing. Im so angry about her male friend, who is in love with her and selfishly helps the female cousin to break the ML and FL lead up. I can't imagine loving someone so much that you'll let them be hurt like this and she's expressed to him how much pain she is in. This could have been shorter, it probably would have done well with only 16 epi, I've ff through so much of the really unnecessary scenes IMO. And here again with have the tiger mom, but at least the ML takes a stand against her.
