I'm at epi 13 right now and with each epi I ask myself, do I really want to go forward with this. There is so much subterfuge in this show, is there anyone who doesn't have a hundred secrets. I want the FL to make some kind of decision, I want the SFL to stop being such a b, I want the FL's mother to go away somewhere and not return, just like the ML's mother did, she's so annoying, but so like so many of the other mothers on these shows, never asks the daughter what would make her happy, only see $ signs when it comes to her daughter. I've read so many of the posts on here and a good majority of them don't care for the show...I'm trying to decide whether I want to even finish, but then of course I want to know what's going to happen. EDIT: At epi 16 and OMG, I'm in love with the ML, he's pulled himself up from being a thug to a legit business man and he's in love with the girl, he deserves better than either of the females in this show. can't stand either of the women.

I just started watching, probably on epi 2 and I'm wondering if I should just drop it now from all the comments. The ML certainly is eye-candy, but is that enough to myself through this?

she's written this way in so many of this genre, or basically any that she's in. I just finished a contemporary drama with her and her character did the same thing. I wasn't until the last few shows that she actually showed she loved him.

me too, the more the better as far as I'm concerned...doesn't stop me from watching.

and then she loses all that money because she thinks she knows how to invest and who is going to pay for it, the daughter. I agree, if my mother ever did that, that would be the end.

Only 7 more epi to go and finally there is some movement in the relationship between the ML & FL. Was beginning to think that was never going to happen. I love both these actors which is the only reason I've stuck it out this long, now with only 7 more to go I can't stop. I'm hoping the next aren't a waste of my time. This show really could have been a lot less epi and still told the whole story. Fortunately, his parents are really nice and they are good to the FL, her mother is a pain, but so glad we don't see much of her. The two friends, still waiting to see what happens with them, but these friends aren't giving bad advice. The SFL actually told the FL she needs to be straight with the ML and tell him how she feels, which is so different from most shows. To bad the secondary characters are so screwed up, especially the male who wants her, but only after she started seeing someone else, but he still couldn't give her the assurance of love. It's heartbreaking to see her finally telling him enough was enough.

I just read on one of the video clips that there will be a 10 epi finish to this, has anyone heard of that? I hope it's true.

I finished yesterday and although I was disappointed that we didn't get to see some lavish wedding thrown by the Emperor, I was happy with the family all coming together at the end and it left us with the idea that there was a wedding thrown, at least the Emperor said there was going to be and he wasn't happy, LOL.

Thanks so much, I am to the part where he finally finds out that she's a girl. I guess I really was just talking to myself, LOL. I only have about 4 epi to see.

I also got a recommendation for The Romance of Tiger and Rose, I think Zhoa Lu Si is the FL in that one too. I love her, I think she would be good in anything.

I'm on epi 7 and wondering if both male leads are going to fall for her. The ML is conflicted, thinking he's suddenly interested in another man, while the 2nd ML knows she's a woman and seems to have feelings for her. How long do I need to wait before ML finds out the truth. I love all the characters, the older guy, is sort of gross, and the others, I'm just getting into their stories. So far this has been a joy to watch.

I read in one of the comments that there is no wedding...You mean we went through all that and no wedding, that is just not right. But, at least tell me that they will be together and safe at the end of this. I'm at 43 now.

I had a hard time figuring out the empress and consort, couldn't figure who was married to the emperor until ep 43 when the two women got together and spoke. I'm not up on royalty. But, I loved both of them.

I haven't seen this one yet, but got a recommendation for it on the post of Love Like the Galaxy - which is the same genre and so good. About 56 epi and so many people in the chats in there recommended this one, said it was just as good.

I'm on my 3rd day, epi 38 and absolutely loving every bit of it, except maybe the grandmother who should be locked away somewhere, LOL.

I also didn't consider her naive. She was smart, but smart in a different way than most girls her age in that time. She could have been an engineer. She didn't know about men and women because of the way she was raised, with little to no love. She slowly came to understand.

I always watch these and think the same, but then I have to tell myself, that they are making a movie about that time. Men and women didn't kiss, they barely touched, so we can't exactly expect face eating kisses.

I understand why.

this is my first drama of this genre that I've watched. I'm in love with them if they are similar. Zhao Lu Si is one of my favorites, no matter what she's in, but this is just so good. I have trouble keeping up on which of the royals is which, but I love Lu Si's character, she's got grit and doesn't let her past stop her, or it pushes her forward. A lot of people didn't like the chemistry between M & FL's but I loved it. For a man who devoted his life to the military and the Emperor, he found someone he could be gentle with, but she, who had never had gentleness had a hard time trusting that anyone could love her. I watched the 1st 27 epi in 2 days, figure I'll get through this one sometime early tomorrow morning, thankfully I'm retired and can do that because I'm having a hard time walking away from it. This is just so good.
