I appreciate the honesty in their interactions, they both have stated what they want, they are not playing mind games with each other. FL only mentioned divorce once she is not harping on the marriage ending, in fact she behaves and says she will be a supportive wife (ex. cufflinks scene) and he in turn never says anything about leaving her. I know people are complaining this is so cliche, they are so simple, there is beauty in not over complicating things.
TENNNNNNNNNNN. This was a near perfect episode because of the camaraderie shared between BWS and IU. Director/Writer/Actors figured out how best to present a couple that are not quite friends but are not lovers yet either, their mannerisms played to the strengths of the actors, it added to the plot while further enhancing audience's understanding of these characters. There was an ease and comfort in their interactions. I personally saw marked improvement in acting by BWS and IU. I think as more layers of their characters are revealed we will like their characters more, understand them better, and credit the actors for a job well done.
I loved Byeon Woo-Seok in Lovely Runner, and have eagerly been awaiting his next drama. I don’t wanna shame…
I think he has gained weight, when he was RyuShiOh he was very lean and his face looked sharper that worked for a villain look. Now he as hero his face looks cheery. But what do I know lolzzzzz.
Most likely he was a good guy but he understood that HJ’s priorities didn’t mesh with his. If you think about…
It also gives insight into her father's choice, the boy was actually very nice, competent, handsome, kind, sole heir to his family's fortune, which means if she married him she could rule the roost along with her rich husband. But HJ believes her father hates her wants to remove her so she is no threat to her older bro, she didn't consider that her father is actually securing her future by marrying her into a nice rich family, so that she doesn't waste her life fighting her older brother. HJ is fixated on her father's legacy that she is shooting herself in the foot. Marrying the prince is the worst choice, she will bound by palace system not be a free businesswoman she is now. Her father gave her the better choice, but her prejudice blinds her.
In a Korean household there is no boundaries and parents don’t knock at door before entering in bedroom. There…
It is not just she is his SIL, as his elder brother's wife on paper she is in place of a mother to him. Ofcourse it is inappropriate, rude, not to mention uncivilized. Also given the future plot she has the hots for him add on the inappropriateness of her conduct. Anyways one cannot deny they have chemistry.
By equating cinematic realism with visual blandness, they have confused the purpose of acting with that of a passport…
Brilliantly said. Chinese government interference in Cent was already excessive unreasonable cruel, censorship of content from romance to politics to mundane stuff like ghosts, to isolating BL actors, controlling actors personal lives. It is not bad enough Cent has to survive their foolish delusional rabies infected fans, they have to fear the government. Entertainment industry in China feels like hell for everyone workin in it, except for their mad fans who thrive on chaos.
I will watch this for the fluff and pretty eyes close ups lmao the scheming part didn't catch my attention so…
About the FL's ambitions maybe she feels a sense of obligation to protect her father's legacy seeing how foolish her brother is. If her oppa/big brother was a competent successor, she has no place or rights to be her father's heir, but she perhaps feels a sense of indignation in her family's fortune going to the dogs in the hands of a stupid person. You can ask why should she care, why should she not, her father might not love her the way she wants, but she is allowed to care and familial love is complicated, even when you hate them you protect them. SFL has nothing but status which is her purpose, she didn't love her husband, all she had was being queen but that died when the king died. Now she has some status as mother of a king, even if that is lost what is left, only money. It might seem enough to many, but if all you have is money and no purpose in life then life becomes hell. PM is not going to play nice for too long once he loses the girl.
I think this is a bad call for BWS to come back 2 years after lovely runner with the same exact type of role.…
This character is not the same as lovely runner, if you find similar mannerisms in like how he smiles, smirks, talks, laughs then I see your point. But the characters are vastly different. Personally I want to RyuShiOh vibes he was best there.
I enjoyed IU's character, she seems fun and interesting and they at least did a good job of showing why she acts…
I agree with your assessment of him. They give the FL solid foundation, she is in school kicking ass getting good marks, and then she is at work doing her job. What does he do exactly, they say reagent, but why is he sitting in solitude sipping tea, reading book, doing calligraphy, why is he not doing his job? You can say we are harsh, but first impressions matter. Take the best kdramas ever made, it is very critical in the first episode you establish ML FL characters strongly. Show don't tell, golden rule of storytelling, we are not told she is smart/sassy we see it, but we are told he is reagent/popular/busy but we don't see it.
