That's a very good question! I think there is more to be revealed, but he obviously saw the same things in his…
PC is subverting established tropes, people don't appreciate this about PC. Usually if your eldest is not as talented as your second child, you admonish the eldest make them feel unworthy of being first born, crush their self confidence. In Huiju case she is illegitimate so it makes sense, but in the Prince's case his father's treatment is pathological. Very few members of this family are alive, did the king have a younger brother who was more talented than him who died young. He treated his son like stink long before his wife died, so that can't be the reason. The drama won't elaborate on this but just a guess to fill up the gaps.
8.5 is honest rating for this drama as of now, when it finishes we will get a more accurate assessment on where…
That ending will live on in drama infamy, I don't think any drama that was so beloved lauded as the best ever seen crashed and burned like this. ofcourse there is GOT.
I did not see this as a problem, but I noticed some of her business styling is not great. So overall whoever is…
ML is top notch I would be mad to argue against BWS handsome wardrobe. I think IU has her own good sense of style, but some of these clothes are picked for her and it does not suit her.
Okay explain me the nail extensions. Why are people saying its not the correct size, colour? Yeah I mean not my…
I did not see this as a problem, but I noticed some of her business styling is not great. So overall whoever is responsible for her look has dropped the ball. But plot is more important a few bad clothes here and there can be forgiven.
I'm seeing a lot of comments blaming LR for hate comments & for lowering the drama's MDL rating. At first…
8.5 is honest rating for this drama as of now, when it finishes we will get a more accurate assessment on where it lands. A very good example is WTPR, it was at 9 when that disaster climax happened and it toppled the entire drama.
Still disappointed with the writing of the Queen. I want to understand her side of the story. Why the hell does…
I agree QM started the show as a compelling character now she is leveling out with her cartoonish antics. I mean trying to get Huiju high and then humiliate her fiancé isn't a smart move, like what was QM trying to achieve. QM exposed herself as a vicious person to her SIL, who the QM should not underestimate.
Another spinless SML, who have been friends with FL for years but never confessed then ML comes in and suddenly…
I agree I don't get Second Lead Syndrome. I usually loath these characters in the rom-com sphere, they are written shallow and are pathetic. SML is an easy road block in the plot to create conflict, god forbid kdrama writers come up with cleverer ways to add obstacles. Butttttttt that saying there has been great SML characters which are rare, top of my head SML in Hometown ChaCha is an excellent character.
I can’t just hate Huiju’s brother and sister in law.PM may turn into a bad guy I fear, the promise he’s…
His demand of a promise ‘never lie to me’ is not for her benefit it is for his, based on what she does he will pivot accordingly to serve his best interest. Prince is right and wrong at the same time, she should have faith in PM after all he has been on her side when no one was but she is putting blinders on to not sense he has romantic feelings for her especially after his proposal.
She is her real self when she is with family, even though she believes they hate her she doesn't hide herself from them. But she is full on boss/theatrical mode when in office and when in public, but with the prince/pm she is half and half based on the situation.
I read somewhere she is impulsive, no she is decisive there is a difference. Decisive people are practical and impulsive people are emotionally driven. Decisive people even if their decision turns out to be wrong they can pivot, reevaluate, good problem solver it doesn't shake their confidence (Huiju life/career is on the line but she is not wavering). Impulsive people like the Queen is emotionally driven, go from one bad situation to another, do not see the bigger picture, are self destructive. Prince is neither, he is repressed, is learning when and how to use the power he has.
ofcourse not the way she dresses should not define her sexuality. i was just guessing based on the past that entertainment world takes a lazy route in showcasing gay characters. but personally I wish she wasn't because poor aide will be heartbroken.
Till episode 6, we have only seen 30% of Huiju's real personality. She lathers on the theatrics as a defense mechanism, flashbacks show that she was not this theatrical and has developed this artificiality over the years. That is why I think people have trouble connecting with IU's acting, it is meant to feel fake because it is fake. In the ep6 interview, there was a momentary softness in her response, IU nails the emotions from the eyes to her speech connecting with the character's honesty, it feels genuine but the moment she switches back to a fake laughs it is disingenuous.
Isn't it obvious with the stereotypical styling. bold of the kdrama to go there, even though it is a side character. South Korean society might be conservative, but these shows are for a global audience.
I-an's assistant is an excellent actor, he has so much screen presence with his antics and expressions. I think Huiju's assistant is gay, poor guy is barking up the wrong tree I am sad for him.
I want to speak up for the baby king and I am going to knock on Prince's door for being so distant. Yes he is there for him to do his duties and shows him mid affection, but you can see that the child craves a parent's love from his beloved uncle, I-An needs to do better. I understand the concept of family makes I-an cold/fearful, mother died young, father hated him, brother left him too soon, his fears his nephew is another loved one he will fail to protect is valid. I hope Huiju can help the Prince embrace his nephew like a son, precious boy needs a big bear hug. The child has so much faith and love for his uncle and now Huiju, amidst their own personal grand ambitions they don't abandon a lonely child who is just like them.
