I really like how Woo-hak has come into his own. This new development of his character where he is shown to be single focused and determined with a clear purpose suits him so well. I don’t know how to describe it but it feels more authentic. Like he’s allowing himself to be himself, including the darker shades that come with it.

We’re at the point of the drama that a lot of stuff is plot driven rather than story driven and makes the characters and episodes feel a bit contrived but the strengths of this drama is some of the best I’ve seen in K-dramas. I’ll be dissecting this drama for weeks to come. There is so much intricacies that require multiple viewings to fully appreciate.

The abusive dad storyline was not how I thought it would play out exactly but it came to the same conclusion I suspected. Unfortunately, it was always going to be the case that the dad was never going to stop being relentless and it’s that fundamental understanding that explains why the characters did what they did. Both the sensible and not so sensible decisions.

Each episode I understand Bo-geol and Mok-ha’s characterization more and more and my heart goes out to these fictional characters and what they’ve lived through and the continued trauma and ache from still not being free of it.

Perfect comment. It’s one of the drama tropes I dislike but have come to make my peace with it as writers use it as a plot tool.

I think that’s what the next two episodes will be about. It’ll be about resolving the ML’s storyline with his brother so we’ll see the brother put his evil plot into motion. I was saying before that this drama feels like deja vu and I remember the brother and the younger sister getting married and think they are winning only to lose everything and be stuck with each other and a baby that is not even the brother’s.

The stepmom is evil as fvk but she’s also fabulously dressed and slaying the visuals. I love-hate everything about her as it all aids in her evil performance. She reminds me of the female villains in Spanish telenovelas.

I’m still on the fence about whether the emotion she was feeling in last week’s episode was betrayal.

A lot of people are annoyed with Ran-joo and think she’s being mean to Mok-ha. Am I the only one who thinks that she is purposely pushing Mok-ha away in order for Mok-ha not to use her as an excuse to give up on her dreams? Personally, I never like when characters do that (make the other person hate them intentionally so they can leave them and go chase their dream) but I think her heart is in the right place and is actually being really selfless here and is trying to help Mok-ha by ‘setting her free’. More-so, I don’t think it will be long before Mok-ha figures out that that’s what she is doing and will come up with a solution for both of them to succeed.

At this stage it’s not even about who’s your bias or who you are rooting for. It is what it is and what it is is that Bo-goel is ki-ho.

I often feel that way about revenge dramas too but this one feels like I’ve watched this EXACT series before.

I saw further down that it’s based off a manhwa but I don’t read manhwas or mangas. I really have a vivid memory of watching a kdrama series very similar to this one.

I’m noticing a lot of shade being thrown at the drama and characters by people who didn’t have things go the way they wanted. They can’t say outright why they are mad so they nitpick at other things to try and make their negativity seem legitimate.

The consensus is that whatever they are doing is working with the audience.

I also find it familiar. Like deja vu familiar but I don’t read manhwa’s so I’m here racking my brain trying to figure out where I’ve watched it before. It’s driving me nuts.

I think this is what happened too. This might be a case of if they create the correct outcome they get to continue living past the date on their arms.

I had the same thought going in and started watching from the back end of episode one with the intention of skipping through the rest of the episodes just to see the conclusion but my my did it grab me. Not one second skipped. I even went back and watched the rest of episode 1 for more context. Can’t wait for the remaining episodes.

Can someone help me with this because I feel like I’m going nuts. I have this HUGE feeling of deja vu that I’ve seen this series before. Is this a remake of an earlier series or is there a series that is very similar in storyline to this one? Please help, it’s freaking me out.

If I understood that scene correctly it’s because he sees that she’s doing these things, like meeting up with his brother and worrying about his mental well-being while simultaneously saying she wants to keep a boundary is contradicting. It’s basically him telling her not to act like she cares about him if she is gonna draw boundaries because it’s sending mixed messages.

This is an infinitely better family drama series than The Real Has Come. If you’ve got both on your ‘to watch list’; watch this instead. It’s much better executed and of a higher calibre.

And then they hammered it home in episode 7. Like a lot. 😅

I personally found that story of the egg so heartbreaking. You could tell how guilty she felt about it and also lying to Ran-joo.
