Hmm. First I though this would be a transmigration into the past story. I like those. Although the magic element…
Was thinking the same thing, but since the show doesn't take itself very seriously, and the comedy aspect is to my liking, it doesn't really bother me that much.
So the ending wll be he wakes up again at the mysterie game house and after some time he will see the FL again…
I hope not, because I don't like endings like that, but that's probably how it's going to be, with the Chinese government having something against time travel from modern to historical times.
I'm not sure if it's because of the drama (since I haven't checked its previous ranking), but the original novel has made its way into Douban's top 5 popular historical novels. This isn't surprising though, given how well-written it actually is.
Can someone tell me if the novel has happy ending? And if this is bromance?
Hard to say. Because ultimately, if you consider the sequel "The Blood of Youth," it has a rather bittersweet and somewhat ambiguous ending for the main characters.
I liked the first episode. Curious to see how it'll go, since I enjoy these kinds of stories. If it does well, there's a good chance we'll get a second season. The original novel has more than 20 cases and each one is pretty lengthy...
I wonder what the screenwriter (since they don't really follow the novel very well, it seems) was thinking about when writing the female characters personalities in this drama. No matter how good or bad the leading actress is, you just can't make it not annoying lol.
The donghua was good, and the novel was decent (I haven't finished it though). However, I must say that the romance in the original work was basically non-existent. The author just added harem at some point for whatever reason. Harem is not equal to romance though. So either the adaptation made significant changes to the story, or having “romance” genre is rather unreasonable xD.
In October, the series was changed from 32 episodes to 27 episodes. On November 13th, the drama was featured in Youku's 2025 Spring Festival lineup of major series.

Someone also said in the comments that the events will take place several decades after the events of this drama. So we may see some references as well.
OMG is this true or just some koala bs? Please let it be true! 🤞https://koalasplayground.com/2024/11/26/linmon-pictures-to-produce-a-follow-up-drama-to-a-journey-to-love-with-liu-shi-shi-and-liu-yu-ning/

It will probably be an indirect sequel with the same screenwriter, which makes the return of the original cast unlikely, unless the actors try hard to get those roles (and why would they lol).
I found this synopsis on Douban:
A tale of five people thrown to rock bottom by fate in chaotic times: a wandering female thief, a demoted petty official, a general searching for his master, a female tomb guardian, and a rich heir who keeps failing at business ventures. Their stories intertwine as they search for themselves and rebuild their homes through light-hearted healing moments.
no love triangle. If you want a happy ending, just stop at episode 34. Otherwise, it's not, cause I don't know what writers were thinking about while making the last 5 episodes. Very confusing. It's just your typical cdrama situation, where morally grey characters can't exist without sacrificing themselves in the end.
its been promised for november 29th. i hope this is a happy ending because the cdramas this past few months have…
The original novel is relatively short and has a happy ending if I got it right. I haven't read the whole novel, I just peeked at the last chapter out of curiosity. So to make the 36 episodes, they probably added a lot of stuff. They might have changed the ending as a result.
Imma be honest, the story seems good (still watching), but the choreography is not the finest in my opinion... Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not. Although maybe it's just that the last few dramas I watched, all had a great fighting scenes and special effects, thus now it seems a bit clunky to me xD. But it's not really that big of a deal, cause overall it's interesting to watch. Also, I kinda have mixed opinion about ZLY dubbing. It's not bad, but I think tey could've found someone better to do the job.
