Since Song Zu Er's tax issues accusations are dropped... So maybe we'll see a second season. I hope we do. I want to know the ending xD, but I don't want to read the novel . Cause I read wiki... Even that little girl they met in the beginning becomes his wife in the novel... by the end. lol. Not my cup of tea, you know. Well, it's nothing really surprising, so never mind that.
The drama was pretty good overall. Xu Hai Qiao is a great actor, which didn't surprise me at all. Song Zu Er had more of a supporting role - nothing special about her performance, but her character was really likeable, so there's that. The comedy was on point - I found myself laughing a lot.
As for the things I didn't like... Among the good guys, Zhan Ninger got on my nerves quite a bit, to be honest. Like half her screen time was just her moping about love troubles. I get why it was there, but I could've done without it completely. The whole "romance" aspect of this drama is pretty weird, mainly because it's obviously adapted from a harem web novel. The villains behavior was repetitive. And towards the end, the male lead started acting pretty irrationally, which was kind of frustrating.
Watched the first episode, hiqh quality production and a promising story with a decent cast... But knowing China, they WILL NOT stay faithful to the novel in terms of the ending... Hope I'm wrong lol.
Far from perfect, but decent show overall... The comedy was nice. Some cases were super predictable, while others quite unique. Also, I have to say that this - "The six-member A-Team is not your average detective agency, as each of them brings their own unique skills to the table" - is not a correct description... Because Samo is actually the one who solves most of the cases. And Xu Hai is the one who does the most fine job with acting among the leads, imo.
Also, for those who are interested, yes, there is a slight romance. Although I don't like pairings, it's not badly done.
Funny how such a great drama left with little to no attention (not sure about China, but in the West). It's interesting to watch and gives you plenty of moments to laugh. Not flashy or overdramatic. Still watching, though, so we'll see.
I've only watched a few episodes, but I was so skeptical before starting this drama... I don't usually watch this kind of thing, so I thought... how could this possibly be interesting? Well, turns out it can be! I might change my mind as I keep watching, but for now it's pretty interesting.
Wtf is this weird drama in the comments below. Why even allow this lol. It has literally nothing to do with the show. Anyway, giving this a second try. Previously dropped on the first ep for some reason, don't even remember why lol.
Great drama. Although... I have to say that the first 8 episodes were really 10/10, but the last 8 episodes were probably like 7/10... But it was great watch anyway.
Oh, right, now they give the ML amnesia. I've always thought that when an author gives a character amnesia in the middle of a story, it's usually because they don't know what else to write, what kind of character development they can do. So they go for the easiest way. Delete and start again. Make us watch a lot of suffering and misunderstandings, only to return, usually, to the pre-amnesia state. I didn't like the first season that much, but this one is worse... My opinion of course...
This is a really decent drama, no matter how you look at it. Not too much, not too little, enough to enjoy all in all. Also, which is quite rare, there was absolutely NOTHING annoying. 0 annoying characters, 0 annoying moments. I personally enjoyed it a lot. So for me it was 9 out of 10.
To be honest, I was expecting much worse. First I read some spoilers and very subjective, obviously, opinions and decided not to watch it for whatever reason. Well, that was stupid of me. While I'm still watching, it's a very well made drama. Not a masterpiece, but definitely, in my opinion, one of the good ones out there. It gives you a really weird feeling and somewhat depressing vibe. And regarding "Sexual Assaults Uncut", like really... This drama is full of dark stuff and people talk about this particular moment so much. As if killing dozens of people, torturing people etc is any better. Idk. Maybe it's because we see it so often in the cinema that many people don't mind and notice it already, which is, well, if you think or even try to compare, kinda ridiculous. Anyway, just be aware that this drama can be dark at times, and also too melodramatic at times (which is kinda typical for wuxia / xianxia tho)
If in Chinese, you can just search "少年白马醉春风小说". The novel has the same title as the drama. And you can easily find it for free. There is also an English translation, but only a few chapters are translated, and the translator is very slow, it took him about two months to translate 4 chapters.
Doctor male lead, traditional medicine. For some reason, I kinda like it when the main character in the ancient setting story is a doctor. But I can't remember seeing / reading even one decently executed story with such a main character, lol. Maybe I am just unlucky... Also, no romance (or at least it will not be prevalent) which is a big plus for me. I love a well done romance, but I prefer it to be a subplot, not the main theme... Hoping for the best :)
I think she is not, actually. I read on some Chinese forum that Zhou Mu Nan had live stream on his Weibo where he mentioned, among other things, that Bai Hehuai is not really dead and that he might consider giving them both a HE in his future novels.
