I read the ending and I'd say there can be way to come. And yes I definitely see the appeal and I don't want to knock it too much.

the drama is unlikely to have a happy ending but it's still possible.

they usually release last 5 as express. so actually i'd expect tomorrow 1 normal episode and the rest as express. but those muppets are just messing lately.

again im not trying to get you to hate the novel. i'm just not in the right demographic to appreciate it. the premise is great. but if to follow the novels set up i would imagine a running sitcom or some setup like Wenjiang on youtube where every episode is self contained, or something like that. otherwise i'd expect beginning middle and end. actually the novel doesn't really have a proper conclusion at all.

yeah they are definitely new, i'me guessing each of them did a show before now. i hope they do well, if to revise a few shows they were definitely needed :D

ms xin cant watch him 24 hours a day, the system,although we don't know its nature probably can spot him breaking the rules that way. that's why i said that if the system was implemented in the drama those kind of questions wouldn't arise.but it;s no biggie.

yes, i got that. and i feel that drama conveys it better and just enough.
but just purely from the standpoint of ok you need to make this money in the past, who benefits what are the penalties. where the hell am i? that whole part was skipped. so personally i wouldn't know how brilliant the other parts were because that's where i would drop it.but even then some of those situations are presented badly (like design of the card game)

" it is the loop hole", yeah i had no issue with "my page in the 90s" and quite a few others. but generally those systems are necessary like "win the heart of ceo by new years day else world collapses". it's tolerable because the mission is weird,but there's an objective behind it. it's not like yeah start making money, ok, . in the novel the system is just redundant. also dragging in time-travel as well is pointless as far as i'm concerned. the drama has a perfectly sensible set up and i think it fits organically without having to squint.

yeah i'm just not in a target demographics for it. if i was 30, even 25 years younger maybe i would find the premise of super genius reputation appealing but not anymore. especially if this reputation is undeserved. just take what i say with a pinch of salt.

yeah novels are kind of hit & miss for me. like i thank god that SSS cares very little about original source (it's pretty close to chapter count), joy of life i liked but it's less than 1K. anyway, here if the link popped up out of nowhere and i didn't have the backstory i wouldn't have made it past the 1st chapter. on the other hand yeah maybe there's no need to dwell on hows and why's let's get through many situations of him doing something and getting "wrong" result. but there's an instance where they spent 2 chapters discussing design. and it's like wth, i can't see it, 20K words discussing it is annoying. but it could be translation issue too.

the novel has the benefit of shutting down suggestions along the lines of why doesn't he secretly tell someone "that's my situation... work with me, here's my secret account...".

i just went through most of the novel, and honestly outside of the current set up i would've dropped it even before half way mark of ch1. i'm definitely not the target demographic.

the lad wakes up in the past, like 10 years ago. and just accepts it off the mark. yeah i believe it and that's it. he doesn't raise any hows, whys, wtfs, how i get back, how are my parents. nah, first thing he does is remembers the lecturer of the class he is late to.

next a screen appears before him, outlines the rules he quickly calculates his "profit" agrees and that's the rest of the chapter. not a single wtf, wth are you, did i eat some mushrooms last night or am i under a truck now and paramedics fighting for my life. nah it's grand.

the rest of interactions with the system is is pretty much him narrating the rules and the account information is actually spelled out in the chapter, i was like seriously, are you expecting me to verify P&L now? Double Happiness was hired by Ms Xin and introduced through the eyes of Huang Bo, and in a very very awkward way. From sample chapters i saw ( and it takes like 10 seconds to speed read each chapter) because most of them can be reduced to he said, she said, he looked, oh no i made money again, isn't he brilliant, repeat. I had no expectations for it to be to the level of Terry Pratchett, but there had to be something that at least could make me smile.

Removal of time travel and the "system" function is probably the best decision they made here. First of all they are completely redundant and it's done way better by Ms Xin.
Now they don't have to make him wake up in a coma, it doesn't have to be a dream. it appeals to wide spectrum of audience pretty much of all ages.

There's a system drama just finished, "My Page In the 90s", she wakes up in the past, in the book. she says what the hell, how do i get back, do i want to get back etc., there are penalties for non-compliance and time limit. off you go. here if they kept fidelity to source it's like "yeah no problem, i'm staying here forever". and for no other reason other than to keep his ulterior motives a secret.

Anyway, i feel like i completed first level of "lonely desert road".

Yeah on YouTube it's hunantv version interspersed with bits of the normal version. When I watched it there first I was going insane.

yes, but i'm sure there are people who touched the original and didn't enjoy it as much you did. and when a show turned up they were like aright that's something i can actually watch. but there's no need to split hairs over that.

not sure why you say you're first. almost everyday there was someone popping up to say, it used to be a "system" and pretty the much everything else you said. In any case the show focuses on the dilemma of a person in a situation like this, not on specific situations that make him look like accidental genius. a few samples in the beginning to show the premise were just about enough for me. now comedy is petering out and heading towards the natural tragic conclusion. also, i doubt that just because someone knows his true motivation it would make his character cheaper. it's just the way situation is. so he is the one who knows it.

I don't see why you should feel sad about it not being as good as the original. Like, you're obviously a fan. Not everyone is watching cartoons or is prepared to read 1674 chapters and would never have known about it. So it got some decent exposure domestically, internationally. and, it definitely appeals to all ages something that arguable wouldn't be the case otherwise.

but they didn't have this choice. there is no way for him to fall off this pedestal without crashing their fantasies and dreams. even if they can relate/understand why he did it this way, they are not going to "look up" ever again. he created opportunities, benefits, etc., for others to grow but yeah it's a heavy cross to bear.

i haven't seen cartoons or read the novel i suspect that basing it in a fictional but normal setting will avoid the situation where he has to wake up from a coma, it being a dream etc., so yeah there's definitely this ongoing hostility from ms xin and no doubt revelation will be some serious cause of angst at some point. but still i'm glad it's normal. there's just too many "system" plots happening in the last half ayear. even this year like "my page in the 90s".
