well agree to disagree. all i can see from xiguang's eyes is hurt from all the pain he caused her. not once did she voice out disappoinment because they didn't end up together but more like regretting liking sml in the first place. "i wish i met you first" if that's not a clear indication the she regret liking and meeting sml then I don't know what is. about your point in which atleast 5 eps will be needed for them to be together, for me as long as they still steadily date and communicate then I don't think I'm missing out much on their fluffy moments. if anything I'd like seeing them naturally feel comfortable and love with each other rather than forced romantic scenes that are prevalent in other dramas—specially in romcoms. couples who haven't really been spending alot of time yet turns their relationship upside down because they claim to be "deeply inlove" all of a sudden. i believe the scenes are slowly building up where we see xiguang looking at yusen lovingly and also admiring him in that scene in year end party. those are the moments that we see their povs and we as audience see them actually falling inlove. this is why i prefer slow burn stories that are well done rather than fast paced ones because they lack layers of subtle yet crucial moments.

what 😆 we must be watching different eyes because clearly based pn trailers and ml and fl dating scenes, she's more inlove with ml than in sml. at this point possible reasons why she freezes is because all the bad things and the trauma that sml gave her, not because she still love him. sml was playing games with her with this puzzles of words and actions. he kept her hanging and giving her crumbs of his attention. fl was young and a bit too optimistic and naive for her own good that she took it too much. if you can notice she has patterns of blaming herself when something bad happens so it's not shocking that her confidence and love to herself was in pieces when the college thing happened.

it's slow burn, the pacing is quite good. we will be bored too fast if we get to fluffy scenes right away

ohh so you mean her avoiding sml at the time of gaokao. i think sml deserved it, considering he never apologized when they accused fl of the interview thing. sml was acting like nothing happened and not to mention his spoiled brat perception of her (it will be addressed later on, but still doesn't justify his action). i would have stayed as far as i can to a guy who i confessed to but actually had something going on with my roommate who later slanders me and accuses me without hearing my side. FL had every VALID REASONS to ignore and avoid sml. she was slandered and sml never bothered to clear up his relationship with ye rong.

that's such an immature behavior tbh. it's different if the actor hims6is problematic. i think he's really delivering what needs to be delivered. his acting and story contributes to the drama.

sml looked dashing in black, if he was kind to xiguang i would really feel his longing stares and him looking at her always at the brink of crying. the actor is very good, always letting his eyes speak, i hope not because he's a jerk in the drama, people would brush off his talent. the way he looks at xiguang so full of emotions. you can literally feel his heart ache through the screen.

as much as the drama have so much angst and annoying characters, the warmth of other character like jiang ru, uncle family, yin jie, grandparents, and kind coworkers balance out my anger issues and fills me with love and warmth... of course our ever green flag supportive yusen the king that he is 🤭

jiang ruu so silly and cute as a little brother 😆 their sibling chemistry is so natural, their bickering and him being there for his sister

yusen's lingering eyes on xiguang saves the episode, I can't get enough of them 😭. xiguang tells him what's been bothering her and yusen is there to assure her. xiguang such a kind girl 😭 yusen obviously falling deeper each time with their dates 😭🤭

i think it is 2013 coming with their new year. fl gradated on 2012 then got the job 2 months after. then after few months it's new year of 2013
