I’m not sure if some of CZY’s fans don't know about this, and I don’t want to brag too much, but what CZY achieved last year is significant as an actor. It’s important not to focus only on idol dramas and care too much about what someone else say about him.
However, I’ll share it here with a little spoiler warning 😅

Last year, CZY starred as the male lead in DNAD, with the story centered on his character, Lin Shao Bai (Main character in the drama) . Here are some of the drama’s achievements:
The drama first aired on CCTV-8 in the primetime slot:
- DNAD had an average CVB rating of 2.014 per episode. ( CCTV rating exceed 4% )
- Kuyun exceeded 3%, peaking at 3.6379%.
- It had a daily playback volume of 100 million views (100 million views in a single day).
- Across all platforms, Kuyun’s reached averaging 44.92 million views per episode (online = 18.01, live TV = 26.91 ) and exceeding 1.8 billion during its peak broadcast period.
- His character, Lin Shao Bai, was the most popular character from October 1 to October 31, 2024.

Don’t let anyone fool you, they’re trying to bring him down because they’re probably afraid he’ll do well or maybe they’re just jealous. Otherwise, why would they care so much about him? 🤔

Just now on Weibo, both fandoms had a strong feeling that it’s for the drama ☺️ And it should be, right? Otherwise, why would they record the variety show on the same date? 🤣

Let them say what they want. The success of a drama isn’t something one actor or actress can carry alone.
It requires a good director, a strong script, a capable production team, and great chemistry between the leads to make it happen.

The director of TWOT had little experience directing dramas, and the scriptwriter was also new. Even an Oscar-winning actor would struggle to carry a drama under those conditions.

Some people just want to bring CZY down, but at least his drama last year, DNAD achieved a CVB rating 2+ which is no easy feat for a TV drama on CCTV especially for a 95-born actor at his age.

It may not be well-known internationally, but it has already aired 31 rounds on TV in less than a year. For me, that’s a significant achievement for a Chinese actor especially since he dared to take on a challenging role alongside veteran actors knowing it could invite criticism but he still took it. Not to mention, he auditioned for it and got the role.

Yes, we can just wait and support him 😊
Or focus on the upcoming drams instead, it would help.

If what you said is true, then it means Ciwen is just using CZY’s name and popularity to boost this drama.
He’s clearly an easy target because he’s stuck under a careless agency, while other popular actors have solid teams that actually vet scripts and production crews before accepting any project for their artists.

What?! Don’t tell me FYY and his agency doesn’t even bother to check the production team before sending scripts to him. She’s failed so many times as his agent. Has she ever learned??

CZY is seriously miserable being stuck in this agency especially with someone like FYY running the agency.

I just saw a fan of a certain actress doing the same thing on a drama page on MDL...bringing up CZY even though that drama finished filming over a year ago and he has nothing to do with it.
There’s absolutely no reason to mention him at this point, yet they keep dragging his name into it. I really don’t like this kind of bad behavior. That is the reason why I don't want CZY fans to do it too.

If their favorite actress has no connection to CZY, then there’s no need to bring him up especially while saying things like “I don’t want to start a fan war,” when their comment is clearly doing the opposite.
Talking about an actor who has no involvement in your favorite drama only stirs up unnecessary conflict.

Let’s not start a fan war here. Whether WJY will have good chemistry with CZY or not, we can’t say for sure. She even matched well with WXY, who is even younger than CZY in The Double, and that turned out to be a big hit last year.

The only real problem in this situation is YZ, he’s the loudmouth that makes me wish CZY would withdraw from the project.
On top of that, I read on Weibo that this production team has never produced a good drama before.
I really don’t want this to become another TWOT 2.0 with poor directing and a weak script.

I haven’t seen any info yet about whether it will air on Viki or Netflix.
Maybe it’s still too early to say....filming only wrapped up three months ago.

Calming Waves is Wang Xing Yue’s drama, and it looks pretty good too, I watched the trailer earlier.
WXY is such a talented actor and a lot of people like him... myself included lol.

From what I’ve seen on Weibo earlier this month, CW was already scheduled to be released before FH, so I’m pretty sure FH wasn’t postponed because of it.

Since there are so many dramas coming out this summer, we really have a lot to look forward to!

but there’s nothing we can do, it’s already been decided by iQiyi 🥲

Whatever it is, he really should switch genre from ancient idol dramas to something different.
Some actors keep playing the same type of role over and over, and it just leads to typecasting.
I’d love to see CZY take on a different genre, like he did with CCTV DNAD.
