Before the incident, he could even vault onto a horse using just one hand I saw it in the Reuters. And after the accident, he still filmed many of the action scenes using only one arm. As far as I know, they also had to tone down some of the action scenes after his injury.

YTY has had so many problems since filming started. With a “three-no” production team like this, limiting CZY’s screen time and then trying to rely on the same strong female lead trope was already risky.
And to be clear, this isn’t WJY’s fault at all, she’s just doing her job. But writing an extremely strong female lead well requires a very skilled scriptwriter. Otherwise, the character can easily come across as too forceful or unlikeable. Judging from the comments, it seems like quite a few viewers aren’t really enjoying this type of character. Personally, I’m okay with it because I didn’t have very high expectations for the drama in the first place anyway.
Why is C-ent always like this? 😭 Sometimes I really just want to take my baby Zheyuan away from all this mess. And the worst part is, there’s absolutely no guarantee that his next project won’t run into another mess either, because C-ent somehow always finds a new way to sabotage itself every now and then 😑 And the fandom culture and marketing accounts are another huge part of the problem. The constant shaming, belittling, and devaluing of actors and actresses in every possible way just adds even more fuel to the fire. It feels like people are always looking for something to attack like looks, popularity, rankings , billing etc... literally anything 😑 I don't see this much in K-Drama world (except for K-pop lol)

What I find ridiculous is the culture of mocking actors and actresses based on these dumb metrics and rankings, especially when most people don’t even know exactly how those numbers are calculated or what they actually represent. Judging an actor’s entire career or ability based on some popularity chart is honestly so stupid.

I’m still speechless about his screen time in RB. The drama itself is watchable and I’m fine with romance not being the main focus since I’m not really a romance person anyway lol. But I just want to see more of his scenes... 😭 otherwise I have to wait for Chasing Dreams?

I actually lost interest in watching C-dramas a long time ago. They just don’t appeal to me as much anymore and if it weren’t for CZY pulling me back from time to time, I probably wouldn’t watch them. A lot of C-dramas look beautiful on the surface, the costumes, sets, handsome actors, beautiful actresses, and so on but many of the drama lack the depth in storytelling that would actually keep me watching until the end. The industry produces too many repetitive dramas and relies too heavily on popularity rather than focusing on quality. Meanwhile, genuinely good dramas that don’t have huge fandoms or popular actors can easily get buried because everything is measured by things like heat indexes and popularity rankings. Compared with K-dramas, I also feel there’s much more variety in terms of genre. Romance isn’t the only genre that can become popular. Thrillers, crime dramas, medical dramas, family dramas, political dramas, and many others can also get strong ratings if they’re genuinely good.
And it’s not only handsome actors or beautiful actresses who can shine either. If an actor gives a strong performance, fits the character well and manages to convince the audience, they can still have a breakout role regardless of how popular they were beforehand or how they look.
With international C-drama audiences, romance drama gets most of the attention which makes the variety feel even more limited.
If I’m not wrong, neither Hai Shi nor Fang Zhu the main characters from Pearl Eclipse will appear as this is an alternate version of the story that focuses only on Tilan and Tang Qian Zi.
Chasing Dream isn’t exactly a prequel. It takes Tilan and General Tang’s part of the story from the novel which is only about seven chapters long. They’ll have to expand the storyline and add a lot more content beyond what’s in the novel. It will also be quite different from the drama Pearl Eclipse.
