I just wonder if these vile comments would be lesser had SJK new wife been another popular Kdrama celeb/kpop idol. I just think half the reason people are freely hating is because hisnew wife is not a Korean celeb. She may not be super popular but she is a person and deserves respect, and none of the negatve rumors against her about her past are true.
I’m not even a kpop fan but this is really sad. I think Korean celebrities should be open at least to people necessary if they are going through difficult times in their lives. I also think people should stop assuming Korean celebs have perfect lives, they are all human. We fans are free to ship them but if they confirm relationships with other people, let’s just be happy about them. Stop hating if the female partner is pregnant prior to marriage or if one of them is divorced before or if one of them is a foreigner or if one of them is overweight or however you think how unconventional the partner of the celeb is. Stop assuming the actor is a player if you realized he/she was just being friendly with a costar/fellow idol. We dont know their relationships with their costars/fellow idols. In short, just be happy with the entertainment actors or idols give you and then let them live their lives. Condemn only if they are CONFIRMED doing bad things (but make sure your condemnation come from facts and not biased sources/rumors, even then, condemn only what is necessary). As for Kpop agencies, I don’t know how they work since I’m not into kpop but I think these agencies should at least have some mental health programs to protect and help their young talents.
i knew it!! had a good gut feeling about this. baeksang can suck it because sjk is going straight to cannes 🤭…
They’re such a plague, they disregard other actors’ achievements just because SHK started acting earlier and the hallyu wave started when she was rising in her career. The heck they also disregarded Son Ye Jin as an actress because they never heard her before because she focused on movies more (which is actually a more prestigious carrer than dramas in Korea) when early Kdrama wave is all about dramas. I respect SHK as original part of hallyu wave but I stan Joong Ki more since I’ve seen his talent way before DOTS, and he chose challenging roles to show his talent despite the fact he could rely on his handsome face to be more popular . Can never forget how he shined in his small role in Tree with Deep Roots in scenes with veteran actors. Plus I don’t think SJK cares about Baeksang anyway, though a nomination would be nice. Bet he’s happy for Lee Sung Min too.
this movie is really special for another reason too sjk liked it so much to the extent of doing a role here with…
I know this movie is not competing for Palme dor (highest award in Cannes), but is there a possibility this might be submitted by Korea for Best international film at oscars (if it won un certain regard)?
So proud of this movie going to Cannes. And I think this is the only Korean movie that will compete for awards in Cannes in 2023 since the other Korean movie (Song Kang Ho's movie) to be shown at Cannes will just be screened "out of competition". Not being negative out of the other movie, but I'm just trying to mention how special this film might be. If this is really good, it might win the prestigious "un certain regard" award for films. This award is given usually to unusual and unique films.
I really wish she gets a female centric drama this year, I'm really sad how underrated she is, even in Flower of Evil page not enough people commenting her name as the male lead.
I thought this drama is really enjoyable and nice. Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun amazing as always. Many people say female lead is weak, but I find her strong in her own way. I understand though that second female has suffered a lot just for being born in the wrong family. Her fate is sad but I at least like that both women in this drama are strong in their own ways.
Seeing as this is a romance drama, I hope Chae Won's role is as equal as the male lead (unlike Payback). Hope she has good character too, so people won't bash her
