haven't watched a kdrama in ages,i'm gonna give this a chance,i really like the comforting village setting trope
Have you watched Once Upon a Small Town? It’s way better than the MDL rating would lead you to believe.

If you just imagine that this is set in the UK, this is a completely realistic story. You have a rich FL who needs…
I think in this drama we will also see that the public isn’t going to be thrilled about a dreamy prince marrying a chaebol lady. I was speaking more in the terms of what the characters need in this drama: FL needs to marry up to be better positioned to protect her status in the family (because her father wants to make her half brother the heir even though he’s useless); and the prince needs a wife who is quite capable & powerful on his side instead of a spy sent by his sister in law (prince’s motivations will probably become more clear as things develop).

The sister in law is suspicious. I hate her already!
That’s by design. She’s not supposed to be a good character :)

Because the hot guy (ML) is not rich, perhaps? He has status/prestige but no money. That’s where FL comes in…
Thank you for the more informative response :)
I’m not very familiar with other European royals, so British royals was my main frame of reference. The Royal Academy in the drama with its house system also feels very British (I’m tempted to make a reference to Hogwarts but obviously that system was in use before the books, lol).

I was simplifying things a bit based on pre-show information and the first two episodes:

— Royals have prestige but not rich
— Charbol are rich but no prestige
— Politicians have power (including over royals) but less prestige and less money (unless they are from a rich family).

did they Adapt a youtube gringcy onrealistisch over the top make no sense drama? i will not stop it but it makes…
If you just imagine that this is set in the UK, this is a completely realistic story. You have a rich FL who needs to marry into a prestigious family and then you have a ML from a prestigious family who needs to marry into a wealthy/powerful family.

I didn’t understand why Huiju’s arranged fiancé rejected her right away. Was he actually a good person? I…
She did her best to get his to reject any thoughts about the marriage (that was her goal).

Idk why I dont like this I usually like rich hot dude kdramas
Because the hot guy (ML) is not rich, perhaps? He has status/prestige but no money. That’s where FL comes in — she’s the rich person here. The monarchy as portrayed here is similar to British royal family. They aren’t poor, but they are also very, very far from being chaebol rich.

First two episodes were very good but you can always end until the end of the series and then check out full reviews.…
Have you started watching Veil of Shadows? That’s the next big thing after PoJ… but a happy ending is definitely not guaranteed 🫣🥺

He's guarded now, but definitely is interested in her. Their history is pivotal as he's already done much for…
I think there’s certainly a good deal of respect that he has for her. She’s not a spoiled chaebol heiress, but actually is a very capable person who doesn’t like the class system.

is IU dubbed here? if not I find her voice deeper and raspier than what I remember which goes to show she’s…
IU is definitely not dubbed. Her voice seems normal but I haven’t compared it that closely with prior dramas.

i only watched the 1st episode, the show doesnt seem that bad as some of you guys claim it be , nor that boring…
Ignore the haters. And, really, if a drama were super bad te rating would be much worse than 8.3. Usually new dramas get dragged down by haters even lower (sometimes 7.x) before slowly recovering.

I dont usually care about logic when I watch dramas but still how is the FL able to follow ML everywhere?? I mean…
ML doesn’t seem like a person who has security with him at all times. So FL figured out his favorite places (through her employee who contacted various people) and showed up there. She’s a chaebol so she has access to all the same private clubs / restaurants / etc. that he has access to.
Abd, of course, we have to remember it’s a romcom, so certain things we have to let slide (like the movie theater scene 🍿) 😁

after 2 episodes, I don't understand a single criticism towards this show , such a harmless, fun show this is…
Yeah, let’s ignore the haters. It’s a fun watch and “alternate timeline” isn’t even that outrageous — it’s basically British Royal Family in function.

I actually really enjoyed this—it’s been a while since I’ve genuinely looked forward to a new K-drama episode,…
IU is so nice in real life, it’s fun to see her play leads like this. And monarchy makes more sense than I thought — it’s basically how British royals are right now.

i like it but the intro and the heavy ads just 2 episodes in makes it a little corny ;/
Subway product placement is a fan service for Hotel del Luna fan, lol… They even made fun of it a bit when FL said the cafe (Subway) should’ve paid for PR :)

The Queen Dowager needs to chill the f out. Madam, this is 21st century, not 16th century that there would be…
Royals don’t have anything to do except obsess over status, so she naturally wants her son to be viewed more favorably than anyone else. But, of course, it’s not reasonable to ask a little kid to handle all those ceremonial duties.

Same... MBC is frustrating for only dropping 2 episodes a week. I don't know how they view this as a strategic…
Two episodes per week is standard for K-dramas (10-16 episodes overall). There are some daily dramas that air more frequently and have 40-50 episodes, but those are usually less prestigious.
