I wasn’t watching TDHR for the guy, but it was a great drama with some fresh anti-trope-y things in the script… until the last two episodes kind of ruined everything. It’s like for the first 34 episodes they had a happy-ish ending in mind, did multiple things to set it up… only to change their mind at the last second and frantically spent last two episodes to shoehorn an ending that didn’t even feel sad/bad/open. It was a whimper not a bang, so to speak.

The only ending that’s more absurd was in a modern drama A Beautiful Lie (it now has 6.4 MDL rating because of that 🤯🫣).

Sigh… we have two weeks until final episode is out 🥺😩
Netflix has Episode 40 coming out on March 30 ⏰

I try to not watch dramas where I know the ending is going to be tragic/sad. A hopeful/open ending like, say, Hotel Del Luna or Moon in the Day is fine, but it has to be logical.

I’m still very disappointed at how The Demon Hunter’s Romance ended. We knew happy ending wasn’t a guarantee, but the last two episodes felt like they were written by a totally different person and took a 180-degree turn to arrive at a blah ending that felt rushed/illogical given prior 30+ episodes. It’s now one of my top examples of how a great drama can be ruined by a sloppy ending.

Once ML figured out that FL wouldn’t be a concubine, he had to go to extreme lengths to get her a princess title… from a man in love with her nonetheless. That was so great to see 🥰❤️‍🔥

I got used to her voice quickly but complaints about Esther’s voice are very common. She can actually do different voices (people mention My Journey to You as an example, but I haven’t watched it myself), so it’s more of on a director/producer to request a non-bubbly voice.

My favorite male voice may be Zhang Wan Yi in Are You the One, but — granted — I haven’t watched any of LYX dramas yet (somehow 😳).

He’s pretty normal in PoJ (the drama version). Definitely not anything red or black flag (we have a certain white haired character for that 😳🫣🤯)

At least, they are not releasing it during the airing of Pursuit of Jade. Definitely would be impossible to get #1 on Tencent given insane popularity of PoJ (well deserved so far… and crazy high 9.2 MDL rating).

That waterfall scene is so, so good! AYtO actually reminds me a bit of this drama with strong FLs, concealed identities, endless intrigues, war campaigns, and insane chemistry between the leads ❤️‍🔥

Given insane popularity of Pursuit of Jade (Tencent + iQIYI), it’s not a bad move for YOUKU to avoid airing this drama at the same time.

I hope they do (guaranteed $$$), but Netflix is also airing episodes on the same schedule so maybe not? Last episode is coming out on March 30 on Netflix (only two days with two episodes, rest of the time — 1 per day).

It’s very good. But, yes, wait until it’s almost done so you don’t have to suffer daily like the rest of us, lol

Fated Hearts is nothing like this drama… It didn’t go downhill after episode 15-16 like FH (it felt like screenwriters for ep. 16 onward were completely replaced 😳😢😩)

I don’t think this is on Netflix at all. Tencent/YOUKU/iQIYI almost always go from 2 episodes per day to 1 episode per day for dramas around the middle/second half before switching back to 2 per day.
