I have noticed that this series has a rating of 6.4 on IMDB

It has one written up review by a user who created an account on Aug 2025 to give it a 4 and to write up about the lack of acting, chemistry of the actors, how unoriginal it is.
Its almost funny at how obvious it is.

Here are some quotes from the review on IMDB
"MC is the weak link so far in terms of acting (face and emotions), ML I'm waiting to see if he will deliver close to what he did with the movie and I don't expect much from the main pair yet considering what I saw from the ML with Jeff."

"Overall: The hype appears to be manly from novel fans and pair fans. Plot wise, as well as acting and visual effects go, it's a pretty mainstream series with nothing different beyond being a BL version of something that is already done in thailand for years, and one that soon will get the GL version too"

TNP fans went and created so many fake accounts to manipulate TNP ratings.
I was so annoyed when there were over 60 written reviews after the first episode aired giving it a 10.
They also downvoted Reset

This is the opposite of what happened to TNP where so many accounts were created to give it a 10

I think 7.8 is low. It is technically well produced, the script is excellent, and actors are convincing. It is also engaging and drawing me in - the story is compelling. And this is from someone who does not like horror

Im also staring a lot at Lee Long Shi ( as well as some of the actors) so yes. Its appropriate.

My Stand in (one of my favourites) is also by a Chinese writer.

I avoided watching it while airing (want all episodes available and also want to finish books for Addicted) but not being part of the live discussions is the worst, There is so much excitement.

I know Z can act when I remember his performance in WhyRU.
He should pair with diff people. NN should stick to playing characters that mirror his personality. I have heard that NN can sing at least. His theatrical type personality annoys me but he has not done anything to make me dislike him. I think its his fans that I dislike and annoy me even more.

I dont dislike NN enough to compare him to the hateful genocide supporting talentless Gal Gardot. She cant act. I dont know why they insist on casting her.

I have just watched Addicted this Sunday .and Im obsessed - and missing it already.
So after I am finished reading the two Addicted novels this is next.
The creator is so talented and can certainly cteat/write a captivating story.

The company producing it also spent a fortune to produce (about 6x the cost of an average Thai bl)

I have heard it but it does not make sense .
So if they cant show it in China, how was it viewed there , and how did it make money from Chinese audience?

Low budget, but good script, directing, acting and chemistry. Rating it a 9.
An engaging story. Could easily be a whole series. Come on viki - invest in something like this.
I would love to see more from the actors and the production company.
A bonus - there is proper kissing.

I just finished watching Addicted by same writer, and Im reading book 1. She is really good ( some parts of the book are hilarious ).

Im also not into this horror genre either, but im shallow and sticking around for the Shaman. I also like Khem and other couple

I hate it when people are not allowed to express a contrary opinion to that of obsessed fans. Some actor cps tend to attract those types of fans

I agree with your analysis about script and direction. Objectively they have done a better job than TNP. Khemjira may not be for everyone due to the genre, and its fine if people dont like it, but I think its telling a more compelling story.

Im shallow and I find the leads more attractive so I will watch it for the bl story and see how it goes (horror is not my genre).

lol - what was also funny was that the TNP (NNZ) fans there could not handle anything negative about the show. The other show where fans got defensive and called you a hater was Suntiny.
Im starting to realise there are some actors/couples who attract the worse type of fans.

Im not talking about bullying actors - but its fair to express an opinion, with facts, or state that is your preference and feelings.
