Generally don't have 2nd lead syndrome but this is the only drama where I felt the FL would have done better with the 2nd ML. The ML was so rude and eureka the same person who he has been harassing in the office turned out to be childhood crush and all lovey dovey the next second while the other mistaken identity female character left stranding. Wow!
Also, the ML is a person who supposedly had body image issue as a kid since he was obese and had a crush on the beautiful girl in class. But when roles are reversed he goes for the pretty girl first and only accepts the FL after the makeover. What a hypocrite loser!
Don't get why the FL likes the ML at all. He and his family are bunch of jerks. Would have been better off without him. People rave about the chemistry of this drama. All I see is the FL suffering and ML being a complete toxic asshole. Had to fast forward a lot
Just started this. One thing I don't understand is why in some Kdramas the king or prince can act out and execute anyone on their whim when they are evil but when a minister is evil then the king or prince are unable to execute them. Does being evil give you some extra invincibility boost like in a video game?
Please activate spoiler alerts, it tends to ruin all dramas!! :-)
It's not even a spoiler. It's something to be expected in all kdramas. Rarely there is a romance kdrama where there isn't a ultimate break-up drama before the ending
Mandatory Kdrama final break up incoming only for them to reunite in the last episode or in the last 10 minutes of the drama. This trope is getting old and ruins all dramas
Don't get the hate for this show and the low ratings. Enjoyed it and it got fluffier and sweet in the final 4 episodes without the final break up drama that is there in most kdramas
That's why I have never checked it out. Too big of an undertaking even though it looks like a good crime drama based on reviews. Another show I never watched due to multiple seasons is penthouse. Initially started watching kdramas since things are resolved in one season without having to wait for years or follow season after season like American shows but sadly kdramas are also slowly going that route lately
oh! I guess that might be one of the reasons. Also it seems like they might not have had any plans for expanding the series beyond season 1. They even have a message for the viewers at the end of season 1 which is in line with most kdramas that last a single season. But due to the popularity they might have changed course from season 2 onwards. I just hope they know when to stop and give a proper conclusion at some point in time without extending it for 7-8 seasons like hollywood does and keep milking it till it goes stale
Although I enjoy this show a lot but one thing that is quite noticeable is that season 1 seems like a completely different show than the rest of the seasons as the show got bigger, more over the top and more superhero kind of territory. Season 1 had a more grounded, gritty and emotional feel to it. The cases were inspired from real life crimes fictionalised for the show in season 1. Even the songs from season 1 can't be matched specially the track a walk which was the track for pyo ye jin's character in season 1. In hindsight season 1 also seemed much darker and serious in tone compared to season 2 and season 3
Yes and that's why I prefer watching movies, shows and dramas since it's an escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. At least can get some catharsis through the utopic lens of imagination. Life is already too hard as it is, at least an ideal world should exist in the world of the screen or imagination
Loved every second of it. Tight, gripping and great mystery. Also, loved the nod towards a past connection in the epilogue which felt heartwarming. The only thing I didn't like was the main antagonist didn't face any consequences as such or the consequence being kept a bit open ended
Quite dark but enjoyable. The initial 4 episodes were the best. Even though there is mixed consensus regarding the ending I guess that's what was to be expected even from the first episode where they previewed it a bit. It's finally her deal with the devil and choices that became her undoing. As for the MLs they knew what they were getting themselves into to the point of self destructive obsession like a drug. Even the supposed "good guy" turned because he didn't have her and in the expose, conveniently forgot to mention about the years of abuse his own mother was a part of and the role he played by going along with her manipulations as long as he had her. Not a single sane character in the whole drama. Everyone has issues and is insane at some level. But nonetheless enjoyed the ride
Thrilling from beginning to end. Not a dull moment. Binge-worthy!!
You get elements of Innocent Defendant + Prison Break + Squid Games + Death Race + The Fast and the furious + The Fugitive all enmeshed into a revenge thriller. Only issue I had with was the ending. Found it very rushed. Too many things to tie up in the last episode which is barely 45 minutes.
Just like jang na ra always gets cheated by her husband characters in her dramas 😂
