THIS character would show her love by being a fierce protector of I-An, reassuring him that she has his back no matter what, and going scorched Earth on whoever dared to try and harm him.
She wouldn't beg. She wouldn't plead. She'd go all out for her man and stand ten toes for him regardless of what it cost her. Root out their enemies and take them down one by one.
THEY would work as a unit to smite anyone who dared harm them.
It's clear to me that she's doing it for I-AN. He risked his life to safe her, so it's the least she can do to…
And - once again - there are so many things that she can do to save him that's in line with her personality - not this. THIS is what a lot of shows do when they have a strong female lead...seek to humble them in some way. And always with someone who has done them dirty in some way.
She would have not if it isn’t for her love. Doesn’t love makes you show vulnerability and makes you soft.…
You don't have to get on your knees to your trifling father to show how much you love your man. Be for real. it's unnecessary. They just needed to "humble" her - that's it.

This isn't love. This is a dumb plot point to "humble" the female lead. There's no need for it. Outside of how stupid the storyline is that the contract got leaked...a smart, creative somewhat ruthless business woman wouldn't have a contingency plan in case it got leaked? This is as dumb a plot point as the damn contract being leaked.
How did Grandma Ji have such a spineless daughter?
She still loves that man and doesn't want the Concubine to "win" so she's staying put. When it is clear the only reason he wants her is b/c of her wealth.
And we know she's not *that* spineless b/c she was willing to go against her mother to marry this man. But now to be the "good" wife she doesn't want to make waves.
Also, I've watched enough C-Dramas to know that she coulda taken the baby to "visit' her mother and just casually not come back for a bit (or ever). She was the legal wife in name only 'cause he had the Concubine running the household and being who her mother is she wouldn't have sent her back. And considering he needed her wealth he wouldn't have said much about it, they all just would have made up an excuse about the "country" weather being better for her after a traumatic birth or some such...
But NOPE this spineless heifer just stayed out of "duty" when in reality she still loves him, wants his love and thinks by being the "good" wife he'd eventually turn around. Gave him a son and everything and he still out her acting a fool over the Concubine.
It became obvious quite quickly why 3ML wasn't gonna be a good match for FL and how he just fumbled that bag. Then later with them trying to set his marriage, doesn't even seem like he fought for it. Our girl would never. SMH.
Poor Ye Xian - he's a spoiled petulant child, but he does have a reason. Those two would never work and they have more brother sister energy than anything. He just likes her 'cause she's different and doesn't treat him like some fragile, tragic figure.
Gu Lan. Sigh. We just couldn't have nice things with this relationship unfortunately.
Can someone explain to me why they like this drama?
The FL is a CHILD. She dresses like she works at a convenience store yet she's at an investment firm. She's running around like a dummy b/c she was caught in a "compromising" position in her bosses office. To get information she gets drunk with emplyees at a meeting with a client.
She as an adult 12 year old. What is going on here????
No like actually. They better stick by each other for the remaining episodes and become King and Queen like they…
Exactly. This whole Act 3 should have been about him taking on in his in-laws and becoming King. NOT some two-bit story line that doesn't even matter. SMH.

That's how *they* would show love.
Not this mess the show is doing.
Are we being for real right now?
Stories always want to humble strong female lead characters. It's annoying.
There's no scenario where they should have her begging him for anything

The two both seem googly eyed over each other, so that's gonna be one hell of a transition.
Most unbelievable part of the story.
lol
He took the baby b/c a priest told him she was bad luck.
Who raised her initially?
She has the vision of the maid/nanny strangling her....did she run away from her grandma's to get back home at some point when she was young?

Lord help me if the sideline the I-AN as King plot and decide to live a "simple life"....
Lord help me if they extend this contract marriage bit for more than half an episode...
Don't Dynamite Kiss Me here.
