Just when I praised this drama for avoiding most of the K-Drama tropes.
And now this.
And yes, this is right around the time this kind of thing happens in K-Drama land. Act 3 - slow walking the Evil Plot so the last episodes stop being light and fun and now are Evil Plot heavy.
And it seems like this series wanted to hit all the highlights. SMH
I can honestly say, at this point, I don't really know where this is going to go.
They are avoiding all the obvious K-Drama tropes (so far) and it's been quite enjoyable even if the plot is thin (it's thin ya'll, you don't have to defend it).
I like it.
It's quite refreshing after the Dynamite Kiss and Perfect Crown debacles.
I guess it makes her character seem more human and realistic. She is a young arrogant girl who’s too confident…
I'ma give it a few more episodes to see if they have her "grow" in this area before I fully commit to the watch. It's giving a little too much damsel in distress and "love story" and not enough political scheming for my liking.

Eh...this can be more balanced is my point. I'm not interested in watch a supposed revengeful female lead with knowledge of the past always losing to the men or having to be bailed out by them. Heck the six year old emperor seems to better at his job than she is right now.
She needs to be smart and ruthless. Not some girl playing grown-up dress-up with the big boys.
I don't know. They are playing FL like she isn't that bright...or short-sighted may be the better word? She's not as calculating (or as ruthless) as she thinks she is, while everyone around her is a straight wolf. In the short Glory Back, when the Empress came back she was straight RUTHLESS - I need more of that from this FL. Definitely not ruthless enough for the situation.
i mean if she was always winning it would be unrealistic and people would say she has a plot armor
Always winning and always losing are two sides of the same coin. Neither works for me. I don't expect her to win always, but I don't expect it to be loss after loss either.
So is this gonna be a series where she's always kinda losing, until she "wins" in the end?
For all her knowledge of the past - she still seems to be on the losing end of things, partially b/c she doesn't look at things holistically and hasn't adjusted her way of thinking and b/c she's completely changed the original timeline things are different now even if people's motivations haven't changed.
I think people love it because of the chemistry between the leads. Older modern cdramas do not age well tbh. They…
Yeah. I STRUGGLE with older modern c-dramas b/c they always make the FL into adult children. I could never understand why the historical dramas had bad ass female characters (whether good or evil) but all the modern dramas the FL were grown children.
I'm nervous that the drama has reached it's peak, the evil cousin plot has not even properly started yet.
This. I feel like they are going to backend that plot so the last episodes are gonna lose all the fun and just be a bunch of suffering until they finally "win" in the last 15 minutes of the last episode.
