I will say the comedy kinda threw me off a bit because it was so silly. I like both the leads so I stuck with it. It took me about eight episodes and now I’m invested.

That would be worth being angry about if I was Xiao overhearing her saying she was using him.

I’m watching How Dare You as well and it works because one leans more comedic and the other has a more serious tone. This show isn’t a romance at all but it’s obvious the lead characters like each. I’m not sure if it will go deeper than that.

He had me fooled at first because he favors the FL. But he’s just like all the other terrible emperors in Cdramas. He covers for the bad people in the palace with the excuse of putting the nation first. And after this episode I see him as corrupt as the others. That poor girl.

So the musician would have been alive had the emperor not chosen her as a one night stand. Basically ruined her life.

Another case solved but another terrible outcome for the victims. I was hoping that some of the kidnapped maids would get a happy ending. But none ended up living in the end. Feel as empty as I felt after watching The Lovely Bones. The good guys won at the end but doesn’t feel like a victory. I do feel we could use some romance outside of the cases to counterbalance the tone. Overall loving the cases.

He’s a goody two shoe and by the book. Hope it doesn’t come back to burn them later.

The last two episodes have been the best so far. Glad to see the romance finally blossom.

The crimes in this drama are sick. I hate what happened to the princess but the plight of the palace maids makes me even angrier. This show definitely highlights the historical fact that women had tough lives in the past.

Honestly, both dramas are so different in tone that I’m watching both. And I’m watching a weekly Korean drama as well. Life is good.

So far so good. A lot more comedy than I’m used to but it’s working for me. After watching ep 6 I am a bit confused. Are they saying that they are story characters as well? She was talking about the other character being a real person.

If a look is romance. I don’t want to mislead people. There might be something later but so far after four episodes there is no romance. Better to be honest with people so they can make an informed decision. Glad there are four episodes so people can see if this is their cup of tea.

Tbh, I couldn’t finish Coroner’s Diary. It’s way overrated and the see the same romance tropes that all these other shows use. I did like The Wanted Detective though. It was creepy enough to be interesting. Although you barely got any romance until the last episode.

That was noticeable to me. The FL’s sidekick clearly seems to be dubbed by someone else. Also the young guard’s voice is so deep that it’s distracting.

Ok, I have watched the first four episodes. Great cast. I even recognize the guest characters who pop in and out. I was thinking the story of the dead/missing/runaway princess would go longer but it looks like they will be investigating different cases with the backdrop of FL’s own family’s murder. At least the mysteries are interesting. My biggest complaint is with the dialogue. It has come off a bit clunky imo. The camera movement and editing have been a bit nauseating as well. If there is going to be any romance, I can’t see it so far. That will be a big negative for a lot of people. But so far I’m willing to come back for more.

Yeah but not enough romance usually hurts viewership. Watch people start to complain.

I actually don’t see any bad acting at all in this show. I think the script has holes in it and the editing is choppy at times. I think the leafs are doing well with what they have.

Enjoying this series. One thing that trips me out is his female best friend, Hyein. If you liked him all these years, why didn’t you say something? Were you expecting him to start loving you after another ten years? Being sad and sour after he finds someone is silly. You had plenty of time to express your feelings.

Just finished my second watch. This is definitely a classic. My first time watching, the ending felt bittersweet but now I lean towards the happy side. Definitely not a happy ending but leans happy with promise of a bright future to our protagonist.

I’m actually starting to like this more and more with each episode. I’m not fond of the magic in K and C dramas but now that there is a hint of attraction between the two I’m in.
