I personally know several women who stayed in abusive relationships either physical or mental. It’s easy for an outsider to ask why they didn’t just leave. But there are many reasons why women stay in abusive relationship. There is a cultural stigma in the case of Madam Fu. Early in the series she told Tingyun not be a coward like her. So in a way she blamed herself with how things went down with Tingyun and the grandmother. Remember, she couldn’t even save her daughter from being poisoned not to mention saving herself. And although she wrote the divorce letter, it’s not as easy as that. You saw him tear it up. She would have likely needed assistance from her brother to make that happen. At any rate, you see it as you see it.

How could she leave without a divorce? She was still married to him. She was still part of the Fu household. Even less than a 100 years ago it was hard for women to leave marriages. In some places, it’s still difficult. Daddy Fu was all bark until the Yu’s got involved. There was no evidence he would harm her at that point. Even Fu was a bit shocked when Yu hinted at harming her by exclaiming that was his wife. Based on the cultural norms of the time, her remaining with her husband is not a plot hole at all.

After Zhao took care of Father Fu, I was tickled by the way Tingyun looked at him the next morning. Did she forget what he did to Lu Da? I love the ruthless side of Zhao. At least he had a good reason. Father Fu needed killing. Zhao should have said, “don’t ask me about my business Tingyun.” I wonder if he’s going to be able to let all of that power go for her in the end. I believe we will get a happy ending. I can also see where a sad ending would be justified.

I liked that she recognized that in the Yu family she’s going from Jinxue’s cage to Momma Yu’s cage. She really has no say in that family.

I think most married couples want their partner to listen to them. Listening and taking advice is a good thing in a relationship. Your partner should also understand that just because you listen, you don’t always have to act on that advice. At the end of the day, the other person has a choice. Part of the problem is that ZL doesn’t provide her with the whole story. She doesn’t know that her father killed her mother because ZL is trying to protect her. That’s a key piece of information that colors her view of things.

That was a gut punch that had Madam Yu rethinking her existence. 🤣

The eldest daughter of the Wangs is gorgeous. Is she an actress or a model? But the actress who plays Yake is pretty as well. Thetr are pretty people all throughout the cast.

She’s even dressing like Tingyun. It’s weird and added the ick to their consummation. You know he had to be thinking of Tingyun while doing his business. The less I see of that weirdo the better.

Happy to see the NW clan back. Our leads definitely need the support. Mrs Mo is so funny. Loved the wedding. Those kisses. I thought the censors were going to let the bed scene get by but in the end we get the cut away. Hope we get a little master or madam, as the maids say, before the series is over. Curious to see where Miss Wu’s story is headed. Happy to see Madam Yu’s face pucker up at the after getting the cold shoulder from the Grand Empress Dowager. I so ready for her and her husband to get the punishment they deserve.

They gave them the blessing but there was no gift sent. Not sure if that’s a big deal or not. I guess we will see. Madam Tian’s no good husband tried to make it into something though.

Love Confession was already a drama I was anticipating because of Wang Xingyue. But now that I have seen Ancy’s work, I’m really looking forward to it. I have not been a fan of modern Cdramas. Hopefully LC will change that.
