Yes honestly if I didn't read the novel before this drama I would have given up long ago. Everything feels messy. It's like they wanted to talk about everything without actually following the timeline of the book. Even though I already know the story, the drama is still giving me headaches 😮‍💨
Anyway I really recommend reading the novel cause the characters are much more interesting there and everything makes more sense!

Exactly ! The way the promo and the trailers of G to G completely misled me, didn't help at all. I had such high expectations for this adaptation cause the casting was so good 😮‍💨 i'm still trying to finish it and even though the editing got better with the later episodes, the story still feels too messy. If I didn't read it before I'm not sure I would have been able to follow the majority of the story. Such a shame cause this novel is one of my favourite.
But for this one I think we can be thankful that one of the directors is the same as Blossom. That explains why we have such cozy atmosphere and beautiful scenes with snow. He really knows how to deliver such unique cinematography of high quality! I never thought I would say this one day but I'm even loving it more than the novel 😅 I can't wait to see my favourites scenes on screen omgg

I 100% agree. Everything until now is on point. Nothing feels rushed or out of place which is soo rare. I need their team to do every future adaptation cause their work is amazing! The cinematography is wonderful too omg 😭

I feel sorry for saying that but I find Fei Ting a bit too lazy. I always try to understand every personality and I know he is not in his comfort zone with that work but still I feel like he could push himself a bit more rather than automatically relying on his sister... Saying "I can't do that in 1 week" when he was complaining how he had nothing to do before is kinda spoiled attitude when you know you're already privileged by having that position.

The actress who plays Fei Ni's mother always makes me think of Xu Ruohan. Idk why I always tell myself when I see her that they have the same type of beauty with their eyes and their smile

I think she didn't wanna question him about his ex girlfriend when he gave her the opportunity because it's not the only reason why she was mad at him and he didn't understand that at first. I think she mostly wants him to look at her for who she is and by coming before her asking what does she want to know about Yan is kinda insensitive on his side. When she wraps her arms around him she tells him that she can be a good surrogate and he doesn't even explain to her why she wouldn't be one for him. That's how I saw it cause when you see ep 18 it makes more sense. But yes for sure they need to both have a serious conversation and be completely honest with each other cause they are messy as hell. I can't believe the younger ones are the most mature 😭

Oooh you're right I completely forgot about that scene. When she said that I don't think she meant to be rude, she's very rationalist so for her there were certainly 0,1% chance that he recovers. Honestly I have to admit I would certainly make the same decision as her since life is already hard to be able to spend sm time on a person 😭 So I would say that yes Fang muyang would not do the same as her but more because he is optimistic and less rational.

Yes I 100% agree she's too cold towards people and needs to create balance in her life. I didn't mean to completely erase her faults it's just that I saw so many comments villainizing her that I tend to focus more on defending her side 😅 So I didn't mean to infantilize her at all they are both at faults for sure. That's also why I used wishful thinking cause otherwise as a rationalist that makes no sense to me why she didn't put much more energy to learn about him before the marriage if she didn't idealise it first. Also the guy came to her to propose at a time when she needed the most so she must have some desires about what would be the married life. I know she is really rational but she's still a young girl who can dream about a prince charming. I think that's why she was really hurt about learning about Yan. Cause otherwise if she was truly a stone cold rationalist that truth wouldn't have hurt her that much.
I think you might like ep 18 cause without giving away too much spoiler once someone takes a step towards her she also tries to do the same.

I mean when you know your partner is with you while thinking about another one and still loving her, you sure wanna protect yourself before the marriage. Also why always putting everything on women when it's the guy who hasn't been honest with her since the beginning ? Now the only way for it to work is for him to prove to her that she can be safe with him without getting hurt again. Then obviously she will have to step out of her pride
