So where do people that got punished to re-educate goes? Is it lifetime punishment?
From what I know they go to re education camp and the sentence can go from 1 to 20 years. But there have been massive liberations in 1976 with the death of Mao. I don't think they explained clearly yet what Muyang's parents were accused of but in laogai they usually go through forced labor in mines, farms, factories or road building, food privation, physical discipline and psychological torture
I wondered a bit at it, too, but then I think about the time that they live in with a lot of political turmoil…
Oh I see I hope you're right cause that professor warning her about how it can be dangerous not taking into consideration a man's past and his real personnality, gave me a scare. I hope the doctor doesn't have a hidden agenda
About Feng Lin... I hate her with the fire of a thousand suns. Truly hoping her character pays for all the selfishness…
Ling Yi too ! She's such an opportunist I hate her two faced attitude ! She's so ungrateful too I hope Feng Lin won't be collaborating with her against the main couple otherwise I might die from anger
I have watched a lot of dramas set in these periods and they don't censor words like "reeeducation camps",…
Thank you so so much for such a detailed answer 🫶 I didn't know Mao's image was this well preserved. I will do research on all of this then! Thank you again for taking your time to answer!
dang. it's hard to watch an obviously grown up looking man playing a middle school student. lol
Ahaha I had the same reaction. At least Tian Chen is kinda believable but Johnny Huang is far too old and bulky for it 😭😅 they should have at least make it like it was the last year of high school not freaking middle school 💀

Could you perhaps list me some of the issues ? I would love to look more into it. The drama really got me interested into this period of time. Until now I only knew about the working conditions in factories (though it's from a very occidental point of view so I'm not sure if it's 100% reliable)
I was so invested in this drama that I do some researching on that era or what happened during that time in China..…
Yes me too! The drama really did a great job in introducing the setting cause it got me really curious to learn more about it! Until now I only had a darker image of that time with what we learned in high school so this got me really interested to learn more about its system
I hope Yiran's acting improves in the next episodes; I love him, but his acting is so stiff here; he was so good…
I believe it's mostly because of the script. The dialogues and scenes from the novel are all over the place in the drama. That's why rather than appreciating the moments where he is supposed to feel wronged, it feels like he is reacting out of place I swear when you know the story his acting is really good but the pacing doesn't do it justice
the cuting of the scenes are off like when the female was speaking or even the male lead they will be showing…
Considering that it was supposed to be 40 episodes I fear they decided to cut too much in the first episodes. Same I don't even have time to process one scene that we're already onto another problem. They mixed a lot of moments together so the script ends up quite messy when you have already read the novel. The characters had so much depth in the novel 😭 they removed too much
wait what was the orginal first encounter? I never read the novel
Yes I actually find her more annoying in the drama than in the novel. They made her more childish here Idk why. She mostly bullies Chang Ming because of the Snow Lotus Pill. It’s a rare pill that can speed up cultivation and heal injuries. Lingbo isn’t very good at martial arts, so she wanted to use it to get ahead of everyone else. But Master Qi gave it to Chang Ming to heal him from poison which made her resentful (that's why she says that she wants his heart). She’s also very condescending and that clashes a lot with Chang Ming’s boldness.
hate when they skip scenes and dialogues that make me feel like i am missing huge amounts of subtext, wtf was…
Yes for now I'm quite disappointed cause I feel like the story goes too fast I don't even have time to really get to know the characters. Sometimes I feel like if I didn't read the novel I wouldn't be able to follow everything clearly. One minute the ML gets hurt and the other he's already healed talking about other things
tell me the og first meet. I never read the novel (2)
They were supposed to meet when Qi Lingbo bullied Chang Ning. I explained it more in detail above 🫶 I just loved the beginning so much since we can see how witty and funny Zhao is. Their relationship seem too fast in the first episode as they mixed and fas forwarded a lot of moments and dialogues. But I get it they surely couldn't detail more the first timeline. If you're interested though I really recommend reading the novel once the drama ends cause their dynamic is completely different there they are so fun to read 😅
wait what was the orginal first encounter? I never read the novel
The Cai family isn't supposed to appear at the end of the whole battle in the beginning. They were supposed to meet when Qi Lingbo bullied Chang Ning. As he was taken in by Master Qi after his father's death, he took some pill to recover from the poison. But since this pill was supposed to go to Qi Lingbo she bullies him for it and try to get revenge. He actually isn't bothered by the bullying and even provoks a lot Lingbo. Zhao steps in when she first arrives but is kinda unwelcomed by Chang Ning who doesn't seek her protection. So that's why at first they are supposed to not like each other and to fight a lot which is really funny in the novel.
ALREADY seeing some familiar names in this comments section. ❤️ I am honestly SO excited for this drama! And…
Ahaha same I love finding the same people from other comment sections. I'm like "I knew you had great taste" 😅 That's so true! Since they announced the main lead I knew it would turn out into something great and the more we got content the more I couldn't wait. Now it kinda feels surreal to finally be able to see it. It has been a long time since I have been this eager to watch a cdrama.
The reason is actually pretty simple. Moving and Light Shop both serve as entry points into the Kang Full Universe.…
Thanks for your explanation cause everyone recommended me this drama as a follow up story of Moving but the story and its setting is too different from Moving's universe that I nearly dropped it. It's sadly misleading to recommend this show while simply saying that it's the same universe and not delivering a deeper explanation like you did
