Title Love for You
They are not related in any way, her mother lived with his father for a short time, after I think she was widowed…
They are not related but I get what you mean I usually hate that trope too. The novel really put me off cause the author accentuates and plays a lot with that step siblings relationship but usually the drama adaptation do it really well by lessening it.

Yes they lived together and grew up as step siblings. Her mom did stay a long time with his father though. They didn't get along when they were children but since his father was really violent and abusive they kind of began to bond. But after her mom broke up with the father while they were in highschool she moved out to another city. I don't remember for how many years exactly they didn't see each other but I thinl it was like 4 to 5 years ?

Title The Lead
Well you're not ready for what comes next haha. The novel is just about regrets and hardships.
Oh nooo but I understand if you want a comfort drama it's not really one which is sad cause the beginning really gave those vibes. Sometimes I find it a bit too much like yes life is hard but do we need to see her struggling every damn second without any reward at the end lmao

I really hope its not Xiao Xiao. He is still immature even though he is very kind and cares for her
In the book it will sadly. She never find her "match" and keeps divorcing

Thank you for sharing this tidbit. Do you know if the main cast are performing their own singing lines?
Yes normally it's their real voice cause you can see them training for it in the bts ! I hope I'm not giving you some false info though

Title The Lead
For those who don't know the actress playing the woman in the kitchen is actually a real actress of chinese opera. Her name is 任小蕾 (Ren Xiaolei) and she's also a teacher of chinese theatre in Xi'an ! In all the bts you can see how she helped the other actors to train and develop some specific qinqiang opera skills.

So amazing that I went to watch 2 shows this week in Beijing haha
I hope it will also make you fall in love with chinese theater ! I still have a problem with the singing part cause sometimes it really makes you want to fall asleep haha but it's incredible how this serie really gave me another point of view of qinqiang opera. For me before it was just something for old people haha now it's my new personnality

Honestly I would've preferred them together. Their love is pure and they never get the chance to try which creates such sorrow

Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
Yes honestly if I didn't read the novel before this drama I would have given up long ago. Everything feels messy.…
Sorry for answering so late! No actually I find their relationship not that toxic in the novel! The show really accentuates this push and pull relationship with lots of misunderstandings. In the novel she did left him so that he won't commit the same mistakes as his ancestors but as you read it you can feel that she just had no choice and it was out of love for him and not because she hated his manipulative side. She didn't want to leave but it was the only way to wake him up. Btw he is not that manipulative in the novel! And right from the beginning of the novel their dynamic is completely different they go from not liking each other and bickering to friends and allies who support each other to lovers with a deep loyalty to each other! That's why their relationship feels more like a Romeo and Juliet in the book cause their lovestory is more developped and well built !

I love finding comments like these from those who read the novel first. It's the first time an adaptation is done…

I loooove how Yang Zi's carreer is taking a new turn with mainly female centric stories and deep meaningful scripts that shake your soul! She is made for those kind of roles!! That trailer just broke me I know I'm gonna sob even more than with Born to be alive.
I gotta keep working on my mandarin chinese so that when this comes out I will watch it without any subtitles 🫠

“Dazzling” the number of episodes has been changed from 36 to 30, and it has passed censorship. It will soon…
Wow 6 episodes removed 😭 that's a bit too much I hope the story will still make sense and won't feel rushed
