I think that’s because they got married without first being honest with each other about who they really are, unlike Muyang and FeiNi, who took the time to deeply get to know each other and build a strong connection. Maybe try to see their relationship as the opposite of the MC's. While the main couple resolves problems together, they think a marriage can work without stepping outside their own pride. What mostly exists between them is attraction. They have to work through their differences and personal hardships within that marriage, so for now, they are the toxic couple bound to break apart if they don’t learn to work together. I think it's great to have a more realistic side of those arranged marriage.

So I really felt heartbroken for her when she realised that she was just a way to replace someone else. All her life she has never been prioritised I really thought he would give her what she needed. But they are too alike in a way they both have a lot of pride so that clashes with what they have to overcome 😮‍💨

I usually don't watch trailers to not spoil myself but I guess they are destined to be the toxic and realistic couple that is meant to die or to break apart 😮‍💨 I hate when they have to give us a reality check cause the main couple is considered too beautiful just like in Crash landing on you 😭 But I have to admit now that we know why he married her it would be hard to really know if he love her for who she really is

Yes I know me too but sadly there are too much people into fanwars on this website. So everytime a drama airs the ratings keep going up and down over nothing. All my favourite ones are usually rated quite low compared to what they deserve in my opinion 😮‍💨 So I just stopped caring about the ratings. At least I'm sure it's doing great in China! International audiences never give enough attention to dramas with less skinship/romance and more meaningful messages

Ok I let it rest for a few days to let go of all the expectations I had after being quite disappointed by the 4 episodes. Now coming back to it, it's actually not that bad. The pace is better from ep 5 and we can finally see how the story actually make them evolved. Love the Mountain arc cause we can clearly see how strong and clever they both are. I hope they will continue to show their dynamic cause that was what made the novel so good.

Yes exactly 😭 Also the way he rushed her for an answer about the mariage. I loved him so much she definitely she deserves someone upright like him but these last episodes kinda weirded me out. I really thought their story would be more romantic at first. But since it's during the cultural revolution maybe their story is supposed to be an eye-opener compared to the main couple. Anyway for the moment I'm kinda sceptical I just hope they won't give me too much heartbreak 😅 I would love to know what happens to them in the novel but I should wait patiently
