For Mujing marrying for selfish reasons I would say it was just her wishful thinking when she got a proposal kind of out of nowhere. They are attracted to each other and she was finally getting a way out so I think she was seeing it for once as something that would bloom easily since the guy didn't have any other intentions at first. But I agree they married for the wrong reasons cause they didn't really know what exactly is a marriage nor how it works.

That's because for me they did not hold the same position in that family. Fang Muyang is the youngest, so usually the youngest do not have the same responsabilities as the older sister. Also they don't have the same personnality too which also plays a part. Fang Muyang is more carefree and always lived for himself not caring about tomorrow while Mujing worries more about the future and surely wants to build a career to also be able to support her family later. I think Mujing can also be selfless just in her own way, once she is truly sure that she is safe with that person while Fang Muyang usually sees the best in others and trust them more easily. It's just 2 different versions on how to live in society, it doesn't make one worse than the other. That's why we're all so different.

I mean getting rejected several times just for your background and having to sever ties with your family to be able to touch a bit of your dream would lead anyone to think that he does not deserve to live or even exist in that society. So she might already not have a strong sense of self-esteem due to her past and childhood and having to learn on your marriage that you're a subsitute to his past lover, that could crush anyone's soul. That guy should have been honest on his reasons since the beginning just like he knew why she was marrying him. That's why I don't see why she should be at fault, she is just preserving a bit of her self esteem by putting on a strong front. They both need to learn how to step out of their pride and be 100% honest with each other. Cause for now we don't even know what's his take on this marriage. Like how is she supposed to know if him being gentle with her for a moment is just him seeing her and not Yan.

Noo she actually cares. It just that some people grow up while having to hide their feelings and show a strong side otherwise they get shamed for it. The fact that she didn't want to show at her brother wedding proves that she cares so much for him that she doesn't want to destroy that happiness with her presence. At least that's how I interpreted it

I love how despite not having much money Fang Muyang give her so much. He is not scared of spending his last coins just to see her smile or give her unique experiences. I see so much of myself in her as someone who worries too much about money and tend to sacrifice living just to get that sense of economic safety. And that's exactly what she needs in life, someone who shows her that life deserves to be enjoyed first.

I'm currently reading it cause waiting for the daily episodes is too long for me and omgg I can't. They are so cute ! They have so many wonderful moments that I could make a list. I hope the director filmed most of them ! Btw the story behind the dead flies when they were young is beautiful 😭

I find it impressive that at that time China was quite open about sexual health and later about abortion when you compare to occidental countries. Though it comes with all those special politics at that time but still, when you think about how late in Europe we were given such rights and when it became morally acceptable, I find their way of thinking more open.
