I’m on ep 10.I usually share my opinion towards the end of any drama but I just have to come to say something.Seen…
And the clothes. Feng Suige’s clothes and hair accessories are the most beautiful I’ve seen 🤌🏻 Every scene that he’s in I’m just staring at the clothes he is wearing and noticing the patterns, textures and designs. Just gorgeous
Ugh I finished this but I'm not over it. This is one of the very few dramas I wish I could forget completely so…
HMMMMM…… Yah I’m kinda coming up blank. I am immediately thinking of Moonlight Mystique, but I wouldn’t say the FL is “feral”, although she’s no pushover. The ML is a badass, but after some character development I wouldn’t say he has the edge that Feng Suige does.
You may like Journey to Love? FL is an assassin (Yixiao actually reminds me a LOT of her), the ML is also kick ass, but again I wouldn’t say he has the dark edge. If you’re particular about how shows wrap up, you may want to look into this one before picking it up, though.
Haven’t seen it myself because I am particular about how shows go, but I’ve heard great things about My Journey to You. I believe the FL is an assassin in that one. Hmm….
Yeah I think that’s about what I got for now. Honestly, I have seen quite a bit of shows but not one that has a main couple quite like this one.
I dropped LIC, after attempting to watch it numerous times.
LIC as in Love in the Clouds? Yea I put it on hold because of the constant lying and deceit, mostly by the FL. It probably didn’t help watching it alongside Fated Hearts - where you have two very mature, communicative leads. In LITC they’re both lying and secretly using each other, and while the ML gets some great development, the FL continues to lie to him and use him… much longer than made sense. They’re two very different couples, but I will say that there’s a lot of 🔥 🌶️ in LITC. The chemistry is good and the visuals are gorgeous. If you don’t mind romantic drama centered around lying, using each other and secret keeping then you probably wouldn’t mind this one.
No one's accusing her of being selfish. Her not sharing her immediate problem with JBZ and insisting on stealing…
I am loving all your thoughts, and shared similar ones a few days ago. Good to know I’m not the only one who is struggling with the FL’s characterization.
I feel like the director should’ve only made half of the story revolve around the lie. So by episode 17 or 18,…
Mmhmm. It’s too bad. Better characterization with the FL would have helped a little. Show us where she’s coming from - show us flashbacks of her life, give us more insight into her thoughts other than just her thoughts of using and manipulating him.
And it was also just a waste of what could have been better storytelling. How about not rely on bad, overused cliched tropes such as not communicating, keeping secrets, lying and love triangles as a way to create drama? It’s lazy, lazy storytelling.

Oh I am the same. I tried tolerating it, but honestly after episode 13 with the ritual carving and the sacrifices JBZ did to protect her, I lost it when she lied to him AGAIN. He did all of those things, got struck by lighting… and her only response was “I can’t tell him the truth yet.” and then talking to 27 in the cell about how “her plan worked because he fell for her” and then right back to stealing the GMD. I made it to 15 before I decided I was done. What was the point in continuing if the primary emotion I was feeling was irritation? It’s too bad. The lying dragged on much longer than it should have.
She went back to the real world and met the ML there, he had been waiting for her.
Yeah xianxia isn’t everyone’s genre. I have watched quite a bit of it, but I go back and forth between xianxia, wuxia and just regular historical Chinese shows. WDBtD is currently my favorite xianxia.

“Alright. It’s a deal, then.”
