I’m hearing some mixed reviews about the last stretch of the show. 😬 Was it not the best?

I loved the whole show from the beginning, so if you’re bored by 15 then you may as well just drop it.

Yup! In xianxia it means that the person has sustained serious internal injuries or it’s a sign of severe emotional disturbance. It can also mean that the person’s “core energy” has been damaged. It has some meaning - it’s not there “just because” 😊

Yes yes yes this is what I’ve been saying 👆🏻 Glad they are showing us more glimpses into the FL’s life, but this should have started a lot earlier in the show. They did her development a major disservice with her stupid lying on episode 13 after the ritual. Had they given us these glimpses into her past ahead of time, her character may not have looked so awful for her continued lying after he saved her from the schemers, saved 27 and then fucking got hit by lighting to protect whatever it was she was hiding from him. Sigh. I’m glad I’m not the only one who wrestled with this. Instead JBZ did this incredible thing for her, and when he asks her point blank to tell him the truth, her only private thought is “I can’t tell him the truth right now.” And then she lies. When she is in the cell alone with 27, the conversation went as follows - “Your plan worked, he has fallen for you. We need to steal the GMD. So let’s wait until JBZ calms down and joins forces with us.” Terrible storytelling and character development for the FL. Then a bit later she does sneak into his Spirit Well, finds the GMD and actually tries to steal it were it not for the blood seal. 🤦🏼‍♀️ How much differently could it have gone if the scriptwriters gave us pieces into her past, spent more time showing us WHY she has been so manipulative and deceitful, and built up more of that sympathy for her character. :/

Hahahahah luckily for me I had a whole weekend to myself when I first watched it. I remember reading the synopsis, seeing the arranged marriage plot line and was like SOLD. Binged it for two days straight 🤣 Best decision I’ve made this year hahaha. Ended up being my favorite Asian show. I’ve been watching nothing but K & C dramas for almost a year now, but after TPoB I haven’t been able to break out of historical Chinese shows 🤭It’s been like six months since I’ve watched a Kdrama, outside of Alchemy of Souls.

I stopped at like episode 32 😇 Knew what was coming, so I quit after they escaped the cave LOL

Yeah I have tapered off LITC. Could no longer stand the lying. It stopped making sense to me after episode 13. I just have it on in the background while I work and just tune in when the leads have a scene. Another example of how a show can have high ratings and I’m over here in my little corner like I hate a lot of this show and just watch for the visuals 🙃

I also think that Who Rules the World may fit what you’re looking for. Can’t remember if there was a lot of skinship in it, but flirty and independent leads, and some pretty big name actors in it. 😊
