It's another good political drama for me. It has an interesting plot, though, starting with a cliche-amnesia case. The male couple fit each other by appearance and character. However, I think it didn't give FL enough screen time as the gang leader. Yes, she's intelligent, financially educated, and capable, but I wanted more fighting for her. I don't like it when authors forget that they made FL a badass, clever, and capable character, only to diminish her to a companion for the male lead. That's at least what I saw in this drama. Unfortunately, it happens often in Chinese dramas. In those that I watched so far. I'm not asking for a female lead to be a brute and burly, save-the-day type. Maybe I'm being presumptuous... I don't know...:( Oh, I really love the Empress!!! Overall, it's 8/10, so I will certainly rewatch it sometime later.
I really like the female costumes in this drama. I've not seen ones like them previously. The male costumes are okay... but they look too big on all the male characters:), in my opinion. Well, all the actors are stunning, so let's wait and see how it works for them. I'm definitely going to watch this drama. I love cold, imposing, and confident FLs.

From the photos from the IQIYI event, both male lead actors avoid standing close to Ai Mi, except to take pictures. And here I'm not saying that they should stand close to her. I think that they're a bit afraid to, even if they didn't intend to. I think many complaints about her age may have resulted in this... Hopefully, no further issues will arise, and the drama will be a success. All actors deserve it for their hard work.
It's AWESOME!!! The drama has almost everything that I like - an interesting storyline, a well-described setting, and gorgeous actors playing interesting characters. I rarely encounter a fantasy story (here, I'm not sure of a correct Chinese name for this genre) with good action and mystery; most of them are about love and drama. But here, it's action, mystery, friendship, love, and TRAGEDY. I literally cried after completing this drama. However, creators included too many reminiscent and melancholic scenes for every character. Well, everyone has their own tastes. All actors played well, their characters feel like real individuals. WX and ZYZ have such a great love, devoted and tender. No kisses are needed to express the intense love and commitment that they have. WX appears too weak and lagging compared to others, I think. The authors could have made her stronger, at least in terms of magic. On the other hand, she has good comrades to count on, so maybe I wish too much. I will definitely rewatch this drama later. Maybe when I have an urge to cry...(

Everything is easy to understand, not many questions about this or that events are for me, and there is no lingering sadness after watching it (I had that after finishing FOF). The tragic fate of a kind-hearted individual makes him even more of a man, as he does not lose faith or willpower in the end. Tianyao, as a character, has a healthy relationship with Yanhui, a good mixture of love, support, and trust. Love is present for me there, even if they've kissed only once or twice. HMH and ZY look good together. I'd have liked it more if some of her costumes were a bit more feminine, since her character isn't portrayed as a ''warrioress or omnipotent goddess'' or anything like that. Well, they still look good on her. I personally don't have any issue with Tianyao being ''too naive''. I'd say he's supposed to be like that at the beginning, since he seldom interacts with people before meeting Suying. I enjoyed our money-driven Fl too :)

They're unique and full of surprises; you don't know what to expect in every episode:) Too much humor and laughable occasions, in my opinion. On the other hand, you'll not get bored watching it. Of course, the drama and angst are present, but thankfully, they're bearable. Actors are gorgeous - LYT and LYN are out of question. Second leads catch the eye, too. Costumes fit them well, and the music sets the right mood. I suggest rewatching it when you have to raise your mood.
So far, it seems like a light, romantic story about people falling in love for the first time. Sweet, tender, but uneventful, I'd say (based on the episodes that I've watched by now). FL is too shy sometimes, I mean the character. But Zhou Ye plays her well. A beautiful story to spend an evening with a cup of tea or coffee. That's all to it.

Agree with you. Obsessive second leads, meaningless breaukups, and unhealthy jeaolusy are everywhere in the dramaworld. It would be so refreshing to have less of them in dramas.

Drama 8/10. Storyline and setting are 6, too many loopholes and misconnections (compared to a novel). +2 just for actors who did an excellent job in this drama, and their costumes. Music is also excellent. I'll wait for them to appear together in other dramas, since they're visually perfectly matched. I hope Lu Yu Xiao and Hou Ming Hao collaborate again. I also want Yu Cheng En and Zhu Li Lan paired as the main leads in the future.

Shen Wan is portrayed greatly, and the actress really fits her well. It's surprising to me that the female lead keeps her place as the main character of the story even after meeting her male lead. The storyline usually shifts to the male lead or their relationship, but here I still sense that the story is about Shen Wan throughout the drama (maybe I've just not encountered similar dramas yet). The final plot twist is weird, in my opinion. Well, I put 8/10 for this drama.
