5 years actually, i would not call this exactly better (or the original is worse). i feel like they are trying to convey difference feeling, also the cinematography in the original may seems worse but it actually fits the atmosphere of the drama.

its interesting to observe the difference between this and the original, like character's personality, how they think, the atmosphere, etc.

the first LA is decent, i expect the same quality or above for this second one.

ay tokyo ghoul, aku no hana, and ana satsujim, also zenaku no kuzu. i have read all those original series, except that last one, and it really excite me to watch the la.
the first tokyo la ghoul is actually decent, hope they can keep it up. tho gonna be a lil weird seeing touka with different cast lul fak you cult.
