The way Du Zheng is purposely seducing the young naïve spoiled Xiu-Wan (ML 2nd sister) & he is willing to even kiss & get physically intimate with her shows that he is a despicable & not honorable man. His actions show that he doesn't respect her, only wants to ruin her so that they can be wedded forcefully if something bad happens to her (e.g. get pregnant, or caught red-handed by her family in shameful situations). I mean, her family's noble status expects Xiu-Wan - as a legitimate daughter of the Lin family - to be a virtuous & respectful lady. I mean secretly rolling around with a single man within some rocky garden enclosures, in the broad daylight, is hardly the behaviour of a respectful young lady. LOL...

This new drama Against the Current is so good 😊 It has now become my new favorite after POJ. The storyline and characters are so interesting and colorful. The directing is well done and the cinematography is gorgeous. I’ve watched up to episode 16, and I feel it gets better every episode. I was never bored & I look forward to every episode. I hope this momentum continues throughout the drama.

I believe lots of examples of sexual harassment from these historical dramas. Imagine the masters of the house are allowed to sleep with their maid servants, and the women usually have no choice 🙄 😒 😐

I had to rewatch this episode to understand the story about the blue flower 🌹 and why FL looked worried when she remembered that Ms. Du had the same flower placed into a gift box. I didn’t understand the context until the ML’s mother explained the avoided scandal. Really smart FL.

It was ok, but I felt the "romance" between the ML & FL who used to be like "brother & sister" feels a bit weird. But I put it on hold for now because I have many other new interesting dramas to watch

I’m glad I watched Tian Xi Wei (FL) in POJ because I started watching Guardian of Dafeng and she’s a terrible character in that drama. She was so annoying & childish in Dafeng and really turned me off. LOL. 😂 In POJ, she’s a good character and acted really well. 😊😊That’s how good actress she is and the Director really directed POJ very well

I am rather confused now. If Yake presented a flower that looked like Narcissus, but the subtitles said it is Orchid. I thought the subtitles mistakes Narcissus for Orchid. Yake is correctly named Narcissus, while TY is Orchid because Orchid is a rare flower.

I hope this new drama with the same ML & FL will be better than their previous collaboration. I like Ding Yu Xi since Tiger & Rose, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that his new drama will do well here

This "Four Arches of Chastity" reminded me of 2 historical K-dramas that I watched about the poor widows were forced to suicide by her in-laws in order for them to get the Royal Virtuous Arch or Pillars from the King. Apparently widows who don't re-marry or killed themselves to join their dead husbands were celebrated as virtuous. How sick can society be those days!!

So far I'm not feeling this drama. The 1st episode is not interesting enough to pull me in. Maybe I should wait for few more episodes before continuing. I just finished The East Palace and that was awesome. 😄 Need a break from ghosts stories for now. 🥵👻👻

I have finally finished watching The First Jasmine (TFJ), and now, I will re-start this Moonlight Mystique (MM) drama. I watched a few episodes of this MM last year & then I dropped it because I found it not interesting, even though I like Bai Lu (I've watched lots of her dramas). Somehow, I couldn't stand the ML (Ao Rui Peng) - KKK... But then I re-watched Coroner's Diary (becos I was bored while waiting for next episodes of TFJ ) & found him to be alright. So now, here I am - restarting MM and hoping I will like it.

I guess for these noble families, having some power is better than no power. Some families put more importance on honor, pride & family name than justice & doing the right thing. It's just the way things were done in centuries ago.
