You are sooooo right about the very interesting, mysterious, creepy but charming relationship between Gui and the girl! It was indeed the deepest and most interesting part of the drama.
So much potential got wasted-though i was pretty enthousiastic for the first 10ep...later on it went dowhill-so my mood. Thanks for the review, though its been "84 years" lol

I just cant believe how good is the writing of characters-each and every one of them.
Having watched the chinese version a couple of years ago, i can say that the k version is better by far. It only lacks a bit as a whole production, but the acting and the narration is better.
I wish the editing was better, they obviously cut scenes without linking the story perfectly, but i can totally see the hype

This drama is the proof that solid acting by the mains (and by the most of the cast)
can save the day when it comes to plotholes, at times boring storytelling and a few other flaws.
The drama is worth watching overall. Especially comparing with other later ones -of same genre.
Watch it for the acting
for the music (though sometimes is a bit too much dramatized)
for the lightning and costumes
for the romance that's not so ordinary.

Can j dramas give us at least 1 story with a man having such issues as "being 30+ and question his life goals, loneliness. potential marriage, not getting married, have or not have any kids etc"?

How can they be together, since he gets eliminated every time he feels things? Did i miss anything?

A promising story,

a very bad execution.
The ML couldnt act...AT ALL.
The pacing and storytelling didnt let me feel anything for the couple. I just didnt care.
Everything felt as if you didnt know why it started, who started it, if there are feelings, what kind of feelings, all of the things that make the audience feel empathy and agony for the fate of a couple.
I could easily fall for it if only the acting was good. But especially the ML...oh god, he had ONE expression throughout the whole thing, plus 1-2 times when he almost cried -and that was even worse

A perfect example of: how to ruin a good and intriguing storyline step by step (esp concerning the taboo topic of North n South Korea(s) unification. I couldnt believe my eyes and the amount of cringe i got.

The whole thing was weird. A strong premise turned out to be a disaster. It was like watching a commercial or something. Cringe as hell, the political storyline was as if a 10yo kid wrote it, scenes were cut in a very abruptly way-i dont even know where to start.
