Plus the fact that most of them are anime/manga adaptations, and you can also find them online in manga scripts.
My first jap was a very cruel one but a masterpiece
"one million stars falling from the sky" theres also a korean adaptation but the jap one is levels above.
I lost my sleep for days (and im a heave sleeper) but i dont regret it.

I was also a historical romance tragedy freak for some years now but in My Dearest, there is no good proportion of angst-separation versus couple get together.
The obstacles that a couple face, should be logically given. Here, at least for me, there is no logic in many aspects. There's also the factor of having both ML and FL love each other from a point and on. Its not a 30+ ep drama. Only 20 ep and the first half had at most 5 minutes of them "together". Its too little and thats why the audience didnt get rewarded for the frustration and got mad.
But overall its just a matter of personal taste.
Not every drama is for everyone.

Anytime! Japanese dramas are my soft spot. They are cruel but in a very deep emotional and humanly way.
Marcus Chang has great chemistry with all his co stars and also steamy scenes in almost every drama! Not to mention that he's got THE body and THE cuteness hahahhaha
"Its ok that's love" has so great acting that you re gonna hug your screen and kiss all the cast-second leads are great too.
Same goes for "kill me heal me". One of the best soundtracks of all times and the most incredible transformations of the ML

Oh thanks i ll put it in my list of "Plan to watch" i ve missed a good action drama (esp when the title contains words like daggers/dragons/flying etc)

Ive experienced this frustration on now airing romance dramas, a few times and im really fed up.
I dont wanna live that again. Back then i had a group of girls we were watching our dramas together and it was kind of fun but now to give my heart such angst no way! Im sick of some writers sadism

I had my doubts when i first saw an experienced hardcore bachelor falling for a naive maiden at first sight. Yes love at first sight exists, but this obsession rarely happens. He was searching for a unique female and the only uniqueness he knew about her that time was that she was kind of seductress to a bunch of virgin scholars. This was a huge turnoff for his character. Adding his obsessive constant try to save her without telling her, then i was fed up.

"Last Cinderella" (jap one-great-fast paced-light and heavy when needed-perfect) the title is misleading as always
"Familiar stranger " short one for a very good and new production team that only makes short dramas but they are all true gems

I love Taiwanese though often low budget productions but no restrictions like chinese ones.
Follow Marcus Chang's works, almost all his dramas are very unique stories and good overall.

"Love to hate you" is also a masterpiece in every aspect.
"Mad for each other" (if you are ok with mental disorders-there are no trigger factors but im saying just in case you re sensitive). Very down to earth drama, real people, no filters, pure human emotions.
"Its ok that's love" with my 2 fav actors as mains
And the one im watching now, a bit old with that vintage vibe of old good dramas: "The greatest love" dont expect anything like the title suggests. Its a bit dorky, you ll laugh hard, VERY good acting that saves a story almost not existing. The only drama that all viewers got addicted without knowing the reason why.

Thats why im waiting for the whole thing to end. If the logic is out completely, i wont even bother to watch. If things are fixed in second part, i ll give it a try

I ve predicted since 2 days ago that the whole drama will go on one sided love (the ML's) and probably separate ways just thinking of each other and all the b@l@sh@t
There's a recipe for good romance dramas:
To give a couple of opposites and great chemistry
To give them obstacles until they get together
To GET together on time so that the story makes sense and the audience be rewarded for the frustration
To make them FIGHT together for a good outcome no matter the ending.

My Dearest failed to everything of the above, at least up to now.
If there were 20+more episodes, there would still be time for everything to be fixed-be it logical or not.
But only 10 ep remaining i doubt...

Destined (the chinese one with the real life couple-a bit smooth, not much angst but very entertaining).
If you also want contemporary i can suggest you MANY very good in quality, acting and storywise

I dont like ML's acting in The Princess Man but i love the actress and she saved the day (ok he's hot as hell but dont get me started).
What i loved in that drama was the logic. Even when i didnt like FL's actions, i could justify them according to her character. The pacing was also perfect. They gave us angst when needed and romance-reunited lovers exactly when there was the right timing.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHH

It is what it is. I too dont like that trait in her character, but in real life, there are people like that. Love is not an ideal emotion, it has flaws like us and can get into gray zones too.

Is Moving that good? Im about to start it-i LOVE the cast

Reading the comments about ep10, im glad i ve waited to watch the whole thing when the second part ends (though im watching certain scenes meanwhile).
Guys i can really feel your frustration, but remember that when an korean (or chinese) writer wants to make the s@t hit the fan, the outcome means more money for them.
Meaning: some projects dont have any intention of giving the audience a good drama as a whole, they just want to give nonsense tragedy cause that's the certain way to have a drama trending even years after its last episode (millions of examples) which also means more money gained.
I hope thats not the case here and when the second part airs, everything will go smoothly and justify the title "Lovers", if not with the happy ending, but at least showing that they got together for a while.
Until then, try to enjoy it, dont let your heart break much.

I can really relate with all the passionate comments even the angry ones, i ve been there before in other dramas-im cool with this one cause it didnt touch my sensitive chords (i appreciate it and i ll watch the whole thing after the 2nd part ends. But ok i really empathize with everyone here, especially remembering how i myself yelled with thousands of others in almost every social media during moon lovers and rise of phoenixes
