Title My Dearest
Agree 100% though both ML and FL are not my cup of tea as characters
Yeap im still enjoying! I do it with every drama. If something attracts me, i dont have to relate to the characters or like them, i m still enjoying it!
Some of my fav dramas have characters i wanted to punch straight ahead hahahahahah
There are other dramas of course, where i fall in love literally with either the mains or secondary heroes, well in that case i get crazy!

that’s literally what I’m doing right now rewatching ep 4 of destined with 😂 trying to calm down
I started watching exclusively for the actress. I love her acting and her drama choices. If you decide to watch it, be patient with the ML and just enjoy how dorky he is. I hated him at first but i changed halfway.

Im still the winner! (I binge the greatest love now, its light interesting a bit weird, ML is the ultimate dork, but its addictive. Its got that oldie vibe, and even though the story is weak i didnt skip a scene which is rare for me.

Title My Dearest Spoiler
I dont wanna spread despair
but im afraid that since almost half of the drama is already out and the couple has too little screen time together-not to mention being together as partners etc-
there's a high chance that the whole drama will go on that road:
2 lovers walking their own ways, doing things for each other but never being actually together.
I mean, if i was a writer and wanted to create a 100% addictive, endlessly torturing, desperate love story, i 'd do it that way.
Shoot me for my thoughts.
I totally deserve it.

misogynists/racists/ and all other kinds of haters,
are like that by default. A drama's comment section is only
one more chance for them to spill out their sh@t
Projections...
But it also has to do with the idealization of love especially with fictional characters. Fans of realism want to see real people experiencing real emotions and real emotions are often vague, gray zoned, multilayered.
Fans of fiction and idealism, wanna see pinky chubby cupid babies, perfect males who sacrifice everything and females who have only purpose to gain a man's heart

In heavy slow burn romances like My dearest, the audience is mostly women. And a good majority of women, care only for the ML's benefit-cause the truth is that they watch the drama for the ML and his ideal portrayal of character-be it his charms, his heroism, his whatever. I can see their point, cause after all dramas are here to entertain us in every way someone needs to be entertained. But from my personal conversations with viewers, i ve come to the above conclusion, at least for this part of the audience

Personally i dont give a damn about any fictional hero/heroine to the point of defending him/her but misogynistic comments, anywhere seen, deserve to be banned both with the commenters (same goes for racist comments, misanthropistic comments, homophobic etc). No need for freedom of speech to haters. They just need to be blocked and isolated, both on the internet and real life.
Ok in real life, an additional punch would be a good idea too.

Standard in what way?
Yeap, i meant a fighting scene that lasts a few minutes, or its not made by multiple short shots (many pose shots of the actor on the same spot, different posture, and little movement to body vs body fighting). Martial arts always exist in man to man battles-even in western movies/dramas. Most actors that are trained in fighting (both westerns and asians) have learnt at least 1 kind of martial art or a combo-depending on their trainer. You can recognize them when you see long one shot scenes (2-5 minutes, little to no montage and cutting of scenes), and of course from the body build of the actor/actress-they are usually very toned. Martial arts are not necessarily exist in the battle choreography (esp in historical movies its unrealistic to watch pure martial arts moves, when people fight in the war, they just fight and use their fighting knowledge, and at that time, martial arts were just a part of the training), but the choreographer gets the basic postures and movements and mix them with realistic moves depending on the battle-era-country etc
The best way to find such dramas/movies, is to search for actors that are known to be specialized in long battle stuff, use no body doubles or much cgi and follow their filmography.

Standard in what way?
Action scenes in My Dearest are not only less in quantity, but of a short length, which means that is more of a "pose" style of shooting, not much movement (physical movement-not cgi)
The safe search option is to look for certain actors who are very well trained (both men and women) in physical action movements, martial arts etc and follow their filmography and dramas

Standard in what way?
Search for older ones-especially those over 30 episodes length.
Nowadays there are not many battle scenes even in pure battle dramas. Reason being: actors are not as qualified and trained in battle, be it martial arts, sword etc as the older ones, plus cgi that has sadly replaced physical action.
In chinese dramaland, i think there are more of this genre, old and new ones

Title My Dearest
Im so fed up with that and i may be the only one who doesnt find a single resemblance. There are many couples…
Let me first take something out of me:
The drama GOBLIN IS GOD hahahahahah
To be honest, dramaland-not only the asian one-but globally-is a fast moving industry that little to no cares about quality. That applies to movies too, but there there's more time to create things, to be inspired, to make what we call as Art.
Dramas are more on the dogma: quantity over quality. There's little time and certain budget, numbers of views to hit, ratings, commercial and so on. What i mean its that is harder to make a really top quality drama than to make a top quality movie (in movies you can always make indie ones) but in dramas if you do that, nobody would invest so its like you never did it. Thats why in dramas they follow more often, same tropes, cliches, anything that would catch the viewers eye.
To me, the only thing i truly appreciate when i see it on screen in dramas, is if and when there's creativity by the actors and the whole production team-leaving aside anything else. If i sense or see a pure marketing product i just spit on it and turn my back no matter the ratings. But not all people have the same criteria. Some are watching similar dramas cause of a certain subject, some just kill their free time, others are more passionate and so on.
And one final note on your first comment: You mentioned something very crucial for our times: misinformation.
;Its the curse of the internet. Information itself is the most expensive product of our times. When its twisted/wrong/fake, it can bring tremendous consequences in many aspects. Many people dont search, many read only titles, others repeat what they read with no second thought, so on that aspect, its good that you pointed out the importance of spreading misinformation (such as the ultimate resemblance of 2 dramas that could lead to plagiarism theories etc).
Internet is not (only) our happy playground. Its a reality full of information.

Nowadays there's almost no parthenogenesis in art products (be it in showbiz or elsewhere) so its inevitable to get inspired by a story already told. After all, ok love is unique but its also expressed in common ways among couples, so no matter if its scarlet&rett or in an asian drama, its ok. There are also story patterns in dramas, tropes that guarantee certain success as long as the writer dont copy whole parts or dialogues n scenes-which is not the case here.
I agree with you, no matter what nothing reminds me of GWTW, maybe because i ve read and watched so many things in my life, that i already have at least 10+ stories with same dynamics between a couple.
At the end of the day, if and when a drama becomes epic, nobody cares about been inspired by another or even been a product of plagiarism (ten miles of p.b.is a perfect example of the above. We all blocked certain sites back then when the scandal occured, but the success was already there and undoubtedly TMOPB started a new era in xianxia).
If My Dearest becomes epic and huge success it wont be due to resemblances with any other story.
Funny thing is that many people went back and watch Gone with the wind, because of some comments, so i guess a part of My Dearest success is already stolen by Scarlet and her trashy lover hahhahahaha
(oh god im so old, that i almost forgot that GWTW even exists)

Your interpretation of "behind the words" stuff, has nothing to do with me. I didnt imply anything, i just expressed my emotion which is Fed Up.
I dont represent anyone but myself and if i wanna say "Fed up" i ll say "fed up". Im ok being fed up, cause thats part of human communication.
Fed up, offended, happy, sad, angry, i accept and deal with all these emotions and not play the crybaby role which i dislike. I am old enough to handle my emotions same way im expressing them without making anyone apologizing or being punished for it.
On the other hand, If you think that me or anyone violates the rules of MDL, there are ways to express it through certain actions. If you feel offended, pressured or anything, its your problem too.
I have a limit of answers to snowflakes so the current answer of mine is the last im wasting. I find it very bad mannered to continue beefs in a forum/platform that is exclusively for dramas and movies.

I think he wont be dead, at least for us viewers. Looks like he is considered as dead since there's a memorial…
Yeap, and lets not forget the "Legend" on titles, which is often a huge red flag lol.
Its very sad cause some original titles are so beautiful, be it flower names, mythical words, poetical elements etc and they get wasted by "love/romance/legend/whatever"
