I’d say wu lei is another actor that can use his eyes effectively.

It’s so tiktok ig reel worthy, that gaze and ci sha face alone is worth replaying over and over.

He definitely do not fit into the regular idol type actor. I can imagine him being casted in more action type dramas like a modern day cop or a general/ warrior in a historical drama. Won’t hurt to have romance because he is so good looking with expressive eyes, his martial arts background is definitely an advantage.

I also really enjoyed Prisoner of Beauty, especially the funny side characters and the overall group dynamics. But the eye acting and silent tension in A Splendid Match are honestly unmatched for me so far. I can’t think of many other MLs who can create that same level of depth and simmering emotion just through their gaze alone. Maybe Wu Lei and wang xing yue would be the closest competitors.

Agree. The chemistry is through the roof. They really don’t need to have complex character to sell a romance with this type of chemistry.

That also explains why Pursuit of Jade became such a popular drama. The ML carries a tragic past, has layered motivations, and is driven by revenge, which naturally makes Yeh Xian a far more compelling and intriguing character than the typical straightforward ML.

But we love our ML here.
