OPINION ON THE DRAMA: I liked the drama very much. It knows how to entertain at every point and offers an emotional portrait of people in times of war. Although the tension between communists and nationalists is a recurring theme, it does not dominate the drama. In addition, nationalists are not portrayed as mere villains, but as people with their own beliefs and values. The insight is definitely exciting and thrilling. If you take a critical look at the drama and are open to a fictional show that presents you with limited facets of war, then I can only encourage you to give the drama a chance. In my opinion, it is worth watching and also presents you beautiful love stories along the way which to be clear aren’t the main focus of the show!- 9/10 PS. The drama will convince you less of the fact that communism is good. In fact, it shows you more how communism was able to gain power in China.
