Yeah I thought he would fall in love for his maid. But the writers impressed me when they played their secret card "resurrection of his master". That was intriguing. I don't want raw fantasy. I always like it when they put some brain into writing the script.
First 50min were nothing too special for me , but the last 5 minutes got me really interested (when he said you're my master). So I'll keep watching . Both have secret motives and it's not an instant -fall in love- type of historical. Both have personal goals to achieve and they need one another. This means that there's going to be some character development later on. It's interesting
Female lead looks very weird.... I've watched 100 Historicals the last 3 years and I've never had a problem with a FL's appearance. This is the first time I find a FL ugly for a main role. Note that this is only my personal opinion . It doesn't mean I'm right. Maybe I have bad taste or maybe my beauty standards are different due to being European. I hope this drama will do well on viewership 👍 Jakie and Li Hong have played at plenty of dramas in the past. They are experienced and I'm sure they'll deliver their roles perfectly in terms of acting

Does it have romance ? I don't mean sexual content and shjt like that. I just mean actual romance .... I love mystery/investigation/romance genres but are hard to find all combined in 1 drama. Normally Korean series are better on this aspect. The only mistery /romance Chinese drama I've found was "Love me if you dare".
Ep15 Preview... ... So Yo Jung decided to babysit the king to make sure that he won't try an other dangerous plan in the future. I think at this point she's no longer in love with Lee Tae as a woman. I think she just keeps an eye on him and tries to have him under control . She also stays with him because she's pregnant. But I think she's no longer in love. She seems emotionally exhausted and a little disappointed from him. She has every right to do so. On ep 15 preview she says she still has faith in him that he's not like Dowager. So that means she hasn't given up on him completely. I loved them as a couple. I was always dreaming that they could escape from the palace and live their lives as normal civilians. The palace is a toxic place . A huge graveyard. They better get out of there or else their relationship will be 100% over if this shjt keeps up. They'll never be happy as "king and queen"
He also took Ling Long in Love and Redemption.... But at what cost ....😰 They both ended up emotionally shattered by the end of the drama. They had horrible lives full of guilt I still enjoyed his story though. I'm glad he's gonna be 1rst male lead 🙏

But they end up predict the release dates right They did it on Novoland Pearl eclipse, on Mirror twin cities , on The blue whisper , and many other anticipated Xianxias /wuxias. How the hell they know those staff before the official announcement and they get it right is a f@kin mystery to me lol.... 👀 Wtf

He's a talented actor. In every scene he plays he makes it unique I don't need to say anything for Yang zi. We all know she's amazing

Personally I would prefer it if they would release this one first (because I love teacher - student forbidden romances). But since Immortal Samsara is being released at June 25 , they wouldn't want to release "The Longest Promise" at the same time. Big Xianxias avoid one another
