Same here unless I am watching a drama that's main plot is romance I have no complains but in the dramas where romance doesn't really add anything to the plot and yet the drama spend so much time and episodes on it when they could have spend all those efforts adding more to the plot or to the sub plot or other characters development is what annoys me . And lets be honest most the writers don't even know how to to write a female character so another reason I dislike romance or even main FL in a detective or thriller series

The original Chinese one made me cried it had so many emotional moments I am excited to see how Korea's approach to this remake

Don't know about why Perth left but about the writer from what I have read and seen in twitter there is a lot unhealthy cps in the series for eg making the rape victim falling in love with their rapist etc. So the producer wanted to cut the problematic parts and wanted to portray healthy relationship (though the word "healthy" in bls is always questionable IMO) but the writer wanted them to create the live action word to word thus the disagreement began.
