In 2014 kpop was not exploding nor was K-dramas or J-dramas. You can ask whowver you want and they will say you the same thing. Yes kpop tried to appeal to international fans but failed miserably (except in Japan and China) until bts and blackpink. And with bts and blackpink came the recognizatiom of k-drama. And its 2021 J-drama is still not popular globally and anime is completely diff topic. People like anime not j-dramas. Both are diff thing. And about wheel of time Robert Jordan said many times he was a fan of Lotr and he was inspired by it never once he claimed that he came up with everything in book 1 himself. And only Eye of the world is similar to Lotr but I am at book 5 and from book 2 there are no longer any similarities with Lotr (except the ones he had already established in book1). And GRRM was inspired by WOT and wrote GOT and he also blantly told that to everyone. So my point is it is okay to be inspired and take ideas from others as long you gave the credit and dont try pretend that you are a genius who came up with original idea. Star wars creator was highly inspired by Dune and he never hide that fact either.

And no offense but bollywood is not that famous globally as Korean industry is now. Yes people makes YT videos and all that just to gain views. Food wise your country is famous for sure but in entertainment wise its average. But I do have an idea about how nepotisim in bollywood. Why doesnt no one sue that Pritam guy? He should get sued for stealing others work.

If a random me can stumble upon Japanese drama in 2011 and Korean boy group in 2014 then why can't a Korean writer randomly watch other countries work? By the way, I am nowhere near your country but I have watched Hindi films and Tamils and many other countries' films. Even coincidence has its limit. If he has taken inspiration from that film he should say it. Nothing wrong to get inspired by others' work but do give due credits.

Foe sure, Korea knows how to adapt fast and learn and give people a product that will be gobbled up. I really hope Japan stop being an idiot and try to match with the rest of the world's demand in entertainment because they have so much to offer than anime. I have high hope for this one. They seemed to tone down the overly anime acting. So finger-crossed! Though Given series was good it unfortunately didn't attract much attention to my surprise but it did feel rushed and bit more like anime acting and which is not many people's taste so I guess it was expected to do mediocre among intl fans.

I read more Chinese and Japanese novels and manga...they are more of my taste.

Yes lets do it...lets end this year same way we did last year with CM. I am sure if other people see comment section active they will more likely to engage and ofc the more the merrier. Lets just hope this series lives up to the expectation to garner bigger audience

I read two articles one in mdl and another one in Tumblr or somewhere else can't remember what most people don't realize is that how much Korean actually copies or takes inspiration from Japanese series and novel/manga as well as many Chinese novels and of course Hollywood. This year I have seen quite a few old Korean dramas (not that old actually like 2016 2017 ) and most of them are remakes of UK dramas or inspired by Japanese manga or Chinese novels etc. I mean look at Parasite... it's not original but plagiarized from a Tamil Film. If we do an in-depth analysis on how many times Korean movies or series got famous due to the original script and by plagiarising other countries' work and I think the conclusion will shock everyone. And it's sad that they don't even give due respect and credit to those from whom they got inspired.

And I agree with what you said and I think not only in-game genre but also in many things Japan is way better, they are creative and original and very unique but because due to accessibility and aesthetic and production quality Japan can't compete against Korea yet. Trust me if Japan changes these things they can garner the same popularity as Korea but it seems Japan only wants to focus on anime.

Okay so as far as I remember when CM didn't even come out posts under CM's tag in Instagram was less than 500ish but this one already has 5000+ so I don't think people are unaware of this series but finger cross this series will be very good and will give us another season as manga is still ongoing. Dang, I am already dreaming about s2 without even seeing a single episode😅. But the tease trailers I saw on Instagram gave me hope that it will be good.

Someone has subbed ep 1 and 2 and posted on the mdl comment section and they are currently working on ep 3. The two ML's relationship is hella sus and the forbidden love tag is making my eyebrow raise. But it seems interesting so far

Squid game somehow became world phenomenal even though it felt average to me and nth new but the stakes were high and world-building are much more complicated in Alice in wonderland. So it just baffled me that the concept of squid game that had been done by many countries already, become such a hit while Alice in wonderland even with its uniqueness didn't garner this much attention and both are by Netflix so lack of accessibility doesn't effect here. To me it seems that nowadays no matter what South Korea produces will become hit. Because its a trend. But that's another topic. Btw are you watching Bokura ga Koroshita, Saiai no Kimi?

This made me feel so sad! Jdramas deserves so much appreciation as much as south Korean and Chinese dramas!

So I watched until episode 20 and from episode 17 onwards, the hetro relationship becomes more apparent. I don't get the second lead's cp; he had no lovey-dovey feelings or interests in Tang before Tang proposed to him. It felt as though because he had never dated anybody before, and this was his first chance to date, therefore he said yes not because he had feelings for the girl. And let's be honest they don't have any chemistry whatsoever. Even after they started dating, all 2nd ML could think about was 1st ML and nagging his teammate about whether "Did TeamleaderXu had lunch, what he had for lunch, what he can eat or cannot eat, and so on" while on a lunch date with his newly acquired girlfriend XD I actually felt bad for Tang here she was so annoyed her bf giving all his attention to another guy 🤣

As much as I love my BLs and Bromance and shipping these two... I just dislike the 2nd ML's love interest. She has no purpose at all. But I really like the 1st ML's love interest she is mature and adds to the plot and the chem is actually good. And I actually like her a lot!

And how many times people are gonna mention that Teamleader Xu has changed because of Wang Dayu. I am sure if china allowed it they would have gotten full-on bl with this series XD

And during episode 19 fight scene if I could only share pictures here hahaha one second Wang Dayu has no blood dripping from his mouth and nose and the next second he just turned his face and he was bleeding XD what the hell the editor is doing?!😪And our 2nd ML is physically so weak two punches and he can't get up from the ground anymore hahaha. Also, there are many sweet funny scenes between these two in ep 19 and 20.

All the japanese drama I wanna watch have no subs yet T_T
