Could someone compare this drama with Devil judge? I love the relationship between Gaon and Yohan
Tbh the only similarities DJ & this one have is the bromance and both SML suspecting the ML of killing their own sibling. Thats where the similarities end.
The plot is completely different- DJ is a fast paced futuristic plot driven story involving the politics of the whole country and the revenge focused where else BE is very slow- paced character driven physological thriller storyline. Its about a series of murders that shook a small town in Korea. The main focus is finding the real killer with prominet evidence( everyone knows at this point that korea is a safe haven for criminals)and bring justice to the victims.
The 2nd ML of both series are completely diff. If Gaon is stupid and stupid where else Han Jowon is arogrant(which annoyed some people) and clever. Unlike Gaon who never did any investigation for the truth of Yohon. Han Jowon did his homework properly even in some instances he double checked. Gaon blamed or had disliked Yohon because he listened and let other people easily manipulate him but Han Jowon actually had the right to suspect Lee Dong Shi. Han Joeon's character development was so good.
Main lead of both dramas Ji sung and Shin Ha kyun are veteran actors. They are both freaking amazing in their art but I prefer Shin Ha Kyun cuz his protray of the charcter is realistic but then again BE's plot is more realistic and every character in BE will feel authentic and human.
Also there is no romance plot not even a hint and every and each side character had a purpose and had something to give to the plot which is rare in k-dramas nowadays.
For me BE is masterpiece and I have already watched it twice. But it isnt not for everyone. Now Idk your taste but if you are looking for sth fast paced plot driven this isnt the drama for you.
Okay so up to Episode 11...and...well...it keeps changing what story it wants to tell. So it's original start…
Ok so I am not gonna write a dictation but you are at ep 11 and if you are still not enjoying it just drop it cuz you will not be able to appreciate the character development and how beautifully the director executed the story or the acting or the series ending. So dont force yourself.
okay after Sun Ah dies Yohan blasts the court live show place with him in it but he is a genius and he escaped and the 1st thing he did is he went to Elijah hugged her and sent her to Switzerland
So things I have realized after reading comments here and in twitter. People who are defending Gaon are seeing this show using their hearty emotion. And people who are calling out Gaon's stupidity are watching the show with their brain. And then there are people who are being neutral are watching this show using both their heart and brain 😅 But mostly its heart vs brain viewrs😅

It was ep 8 the mid season I also thought it would be the turning point for the plot and especially for Gaon but nope Gaon remained the same as ep1 no character progression instead his character development declined
That line Gaon said at the end of ep 15 "At that moment, I decided to die"
He is saying it in a philosophical way not in a literal way. I see people being worried about him committing suicide but that will be not be the case. It will be probably be him "killing" his good and dumb self to fight against the bad people and play dirty. So he is probably going to follow Yohan's mindset. This is my 2 cent.

Just curious... People who have watched all the episodes so far.... How is it now?
Though I don't know your taste or how much you are into this genre but I will be honest with you The series starts with a banger then slowly and steady goes downhill and from ep 12 its goes downhill rapidly. And the 2nd ML and FL is annoying and stupid and moron especially the 2nd ML he is useless and should just disappear already.
And also the bromance it will not give you the same intense feel as the FMV will give you in youtube. So kudos to all the FMV makers for somehow making them look so cute couple but in reality...meh.
The 1st ML is amazing you will love him to death and you will also love Elijah and K and you will like the Villan as well. This series is worth the watch for sure but not worthy of such high rating. This is all I can say without spoiling. But if you have high tolerance of stupod character you will enjoy it but if you have low tolerance like mine the enjoyment level will be effected.
