yasss, now that's how you make an explosive kdrama episode!!! i honestly can't deal. i feel like everything that happened in this episode was just a fckin perfection. we got a little more about the dark, painful backstory of the ML, glimpses here and there of their budding romance encapsulated in their sad, twisted fate as well as hot AF second/third male lead goodness me! geez, have mercy on us Lee Soo Hyuk oppa. they also throw in Kang Tae Oh in there, phewww. are we gonna survive this drama alive, bisches? LOL.i actually teared up at the scene when he recreated the scene of the night before when she was about to get fatally hit by the white truck of doom (and asked her to choose again). and she indeed again chooses to stay alive instead of dying then. i mean, the way he tested her mentally like that was messed up AF, and the slap she gave him was fully deserved LOL.BUT! the thing that ruined me completely about that scene was when Myul Mang himself repeated the lines said by the deity of life at the hospital (presumably his first love). that the matter of them crossing paths is unavoidably in their fate, and that both of them mutually think that fate is being really cruel to them, which puts them in complete misery. the pain in his eyes, fckk it. it hurts!!!geez. the story is really meaty. i wanna know where is the arc going to bring us with the SML and TML, also the SFL (writer-nim) who seemed to be the past lover/fling of the TML.THIS DRAMA IS ABOUT TO RIDE ITS WAY TO MY LIST OF PERFECT 10s AND I AM FCKIN READY.p/s the OST. the damn OST. it's sick AF, i need the full version right now and this is torture!
Song Joong Ki playing a homme fatale to perfection!!!
daebak!!! i really liked the background score at the 1:20:00 mark. they already used it in the scene when Vincenzo was overlooking the scenery in front of him from the rooftop of the plaza and playing with the lighter before deciding that he will burn down the entire warehouse of Babel Chemicals some episodes back. the background score is so original and dramatic! so so good.//i consider this episode a really well-done one, LOL. i squealed really hard watching the scene where Vincenzo/Tae Ho met Shim Yeong at the horse riding club and flirted with him, also the bar scene and later on the amusement park scene HAHAHA. the way i was also cringing when he was cringing at the whole situation LOL. he was literally suffering the whole time but when the guy told him that his mother left his father to die after the assault on their housekeeper (Vincenzo's mother), he held onto Shim Yeong more seriously in a true homme fatale style, pheww.i really liked the shot when he entered with his horse with the sun at his back, that shot was gorgeous AF!!! wow i wanna give standing ovation to the camera director for shooting that scene so beautifully, so so good. i can honestly watch that scene endlessly. also the flying brown scarf inside his vest when he was riding the horse, the colour combination with his greyish vest. wow they really make SJK look like royal, LOL. stylist-nim deserves a raise!!! also, the man himself. none of this is possible if HE DOESN'T LOOK THAT GOOD, HOLY SH*T.also, i liked that Jiparugi law team lost this time because Myung Hee already had a backup plan in case their plan was ruined, but Vincenzo already warned Babel chairman that the next time they get a funding, they'll rob them LOL.can't wait to see how Jiparugi team finally will win them all and bring Babel Group and Wusang law firm down to its ashes!!! ^^
wow, okay. i feel like i have a lot to say at this point.now Daniel Pitt is slowly realising that he's liked her more than just a sibling-oppa, so at the end of the episode he confessed that he'll be more transparent about how he feels for her.first of all, i feel like Lee Gun isn't remotely bad. i am sure most women in realistic marriages would say that Lee Gun is better than their husbands LOL. it's just that for Daniel Pitt, she always unknowingly showed to him her weak, kind side that's easily taken advantaged of by her husband. so Daniel has this strong urge to protect her, as the masculine man that he is.but then Lee Gun isn't a monster by any means. he's just a flawed human like most husbands are, i believe. he may hurt her, but he definitely didn't abuse her emotionally. so i see nothing about their marriage that screams EMERGENCY and that another man badly needed to come to her rescue every single time, LOL.well i guess that's why i wasn't really rooting for Daniel Pitt and still find it difficult to:1. the way his character is written is quite literally the generic typification of what SML are often like. they are financially able, good looking and has strong urge to protect the FL because he always sees her during her troubled times. which brings me to the next point,2. if it's as easy as this IRL for a married woman to bump into a neighbourhood oppa who's equally as attractive as your good-looking and rich husband, then infidelity rate would be over the roof LOL. something about this 'coincidence' is too good to be true, and my jealousy of a fictional character living a blessed life like that is off the charts LOL.don't get me wrong. Daniel Pitt is still a much appreciated character. i just feel very strongly that he doesn't even have to be a man in the love triangle. or if he's really the other guy in the love triangle, give our main love story more extreme conflicts to strengthen the motives for her to cheat on her husband LOL. i am just really tired of this trope, especially with a good married woman who he clearly won't have a chance with. goshh
gosh the natural disaster rescue operation is so heartbreaking. i really love this drama for doing the military side so well. i feel as heartbroken as Dr. Moo Yeon when she had to choose between the two injured people who are stuck, one pressed down by a huge concrete lab and the other one who got stabbed by a piece of it to his chest.i knew she was going to choose the latter one.i love the scenes when there's a foreign worker who gifted his boots for her to wear, and then later on she returned his shoes to him. small acts of kindness that really touches your heart.i'm kinda regretful that i'm giving this drama a chance a little so late. everywhere i hear people talking about DOTS they only talk about the lead couple's romance (on-screen or off-screen), i have not came across a comment that objectively says how good this drama is.i am really enjoying it, but it's such a heartbreaking one :(every episode has been so freaking good since ep. 1, at least when they take the cheesy lines away and the drama moves towards being more mellow and realistic about their 'clashes'.
phenomenal first episode.so many dynamic shots in just a single episode, IT'S INSANE!!!really serving well to its reputation as my most awaited drama yet this year.Vincenzo could never, LOL!let's goooooo!
Song Ha Young creeps me out in this episode, LOL. the way he was walking around in the dark while carrying a knife around and scaring people LMAO also it's scary to see how intense his eyes looked, as if he's suppressing his urge to kill, as he's living the life of the serial murderer mentally.it's kinda heartbreaking to see how Captain Kook (now Chief) is worrying for him. and when he tries to accommodate his subordinate to take time off from work, he gets simply brushed off like that. who wouldn't worry LOL.Song Ha Young acting like that kinda scares me more than the serial killer himself. the serial killer this time is different from Gu Young Chun who's young, strong, calculative and 'morally' pompous. this serial killer comes across more like a loser because he doesn't set a target, rather kills people randomly who he bumped into and got really unlucky at that particular time. which means, serial killer #2 is not someone who has his own type for women he wants to kill. it's just a matter of luck, which i find a little uninteresting. however, he's the one who has changed his M.O. multiple times, including his murder weapons. so i am excited to see what Song Ha Young can tease out from him. my biggest complaint is that if there was at least one or two more serial killers to cover, and they could develop Song Ha Young's character tension more to show us how he's fighting his inner demons while studying criminals, that would have made the perfect 16 episodes!
having a blast watching this!the first 2-3 episodes was a bit sad/unsatisfactory for me because there was not enough screentime for K character but in ep. 4 they are slowly redeeming that which is really nice.i was also surprised that they revealed that K is only Ryu Su Yeol's alter ego or split personality as early as ep. 2. that explains why K's identity is part of the drama synopsis LOL. i was initially disturbed by how big that was as a spoiler to the storyline, given so freely in the synopsis.also loved how this is going. writer-nim got rid of the murderer assemblyman now (he got murdered) so there's another villain that the team is now chasing but we don't know who that is yet.i really love this kind of writing which keeps the suspense alive, so good and brilliant!love how cutely K character is acting around Ryu Su Yeol's ex lover HAHAHA. that was pure comedy. also the scene in ep. 3 when he said his name is K not GAY hahahahaha!this is a very fresh way of presenting split personality disorder instead of having one actor acting both/multiple characters. you can see it didn't exactly take the burden off LDW's shoulder to play 'K' because we could see snippets of him acting as K too. it just makes the distinction very clear (as in a strategic choice made in the screenwriting style to convey the story effectively), also another actor who might be better at physical fighting would fit the type more.(i.e. i am thinking this story could have also been told without hiring a second ML to play K character - like how most scripts about DID deals with this)truly smart screenwriting!
ouh God, now i finally feel like the plot is moving somewhere with Yi Hyun himself being infected.preview for next week, i.e. finale week seems really bomb, but it seems like they are going to crash a lot of things in two episodes. and i feel like it's literally written like this purposely for season 2, sighh.i just wished things were not too slow and repetitive in last week's two episodes so that the tension were more properly distributed.the fact that Andrew is the main villain in the drama was not surprising at all to me (since his face was never shown from the beginning, and he was always suspicious). i actually wished the owner of the penthouse 1501, Kim Se Hoon who's well stocked with all sorts of apocalypse equipments was the villain instead of the one murdered. he had a stronger mysterious aura in him that i can't read, also more interesting.i am also frustrated that it seemed like they'll resolve this drama next week without a proper explanation of who those bad, rich guys actually are (the one who bitten Mr. Han's wife) and if they had a stronger role to play in the spread or containment of this disease because of their wealth, status and connection.i am just frustrated that we have gone through 10 episodes out of 12, and it felt like it was only worth 6 so far because of the way it dragged and got repetitive in the middle.i also wished the plot were more evenly distributed with military style intervention outside the apartment complex, to the scale of the immediate city area instead of a really big focus on inside the one apartment building only. that would have made the story a lot stronger and more thrilling for me.
Woahh, you don't know how over the moon i am while watching this. The scene when he played the CD gifted by FL's bro-in-law who punched him for misdiagnosing his baby. Then he cried while driving because it's a sad song about losing someone.Wow he really still loved her a lot. I didn't expect him to still love her because he was so rude and mean to her in the beginning of their internship. So now I'm really damn curious about their backstory. This feels a bit like Go Back Couple but i honestly am loving this a lot more.Based on the way he's behaving, i really feel like he reminds me so much of Lee Gun from FTLY, lol. Pompous and in a way a jerk, but a very fierce lover. In a way I'm finally seeing CJH acting characters that i loved, both Daniel Pitt (there) and Lee Gun from FTLY (here), if that makes sense. Also that closing scene when he finally spoke his heart out and told her sternly not to smile and laugh in front of Chief Gook in the same way that made him fall in love, goshh that unmatched manliness. Some people may see it as out of place possessiveness but i don't think so.Well I'm just liking that he's going to take step forwards toward her now, and no longer just watching.Kajaaa!P/s i love that this is a romance about separated couple who's about to rekindle their love. I feel this kind of stories is richer because they can serve us a good backstory and of the current.I also find the pacing to be really good. I've not been bored for a minute! ???
daebak. loved the simulation training at the end to escape a cruise at night and into the inflatable lifeboat. but you can see this is almost a mid-difficulty level compared to Titanic where the ocean water is icy cold, plus most cruises are as tall as a high rise building so it's a lot scarier if a disaster strikes and you need to escape. more importantly, i really wanna know how many safety operators are on board during each trip. watching this really makes me super conscious of doing any activities in the open water OMG.
i am surprised that Bak Goon joined as one of the casts because i thought he'd join as a master. he has incredible life survival skills that he can teach the boys. loved that him and Seung Gi already knew each other during military service and their warmth and respect for each other are so nice to see. he actually blends really well in this team, i wanted him to join them as a permanent member. also, this episode was about survival skills in the case of water sports accidents or ship/boat sinking in the lake/ocean. really educational, and look like next week's episode is gonna be even more intense. can't wait!
i think the premiere episode slightly underperformed, but definitely too early to judge ^^
actually i find the premiere episode a little flat. i guess i wanted more dramaticism since this is a fantasy genre and i wanted it to be as enchanting as Goblin from the get go (which is why i can truly respect the masterpiece directing that was of Goblin's). i wish upcoming episodes are better.
perhaps one of the best climax episode of a crime thriller drama, ever
holy sh*t! perhaps one of the best climax episode of a crime thriller anywhere, ever that i have seen. this episode was so good, the build-up for the tension in this is crazyyyy!! and the chemistry between Director Kang and Team Leader Do is an absolute fire! can't wait to see how they'll pull through with the remaining two, yasss.
fck it. this episode was so hard to watch.about child molester who got out of jail early and was about to take revenge and assault the younger brother of the first victim who reported him.when they had a scene showing the grown up victim continuing to be traumatized and describing the feeling as if she has a snake crawling on her every second/minute of the day therefore completely debilitating her life, i thought that was such a phenomenal and heartbreaking way to describe something that most of us can never understand. it's so damn heartbreaking.i also liked the note at the end where the director included words saying other countries have very strict punishment for pedophiles, even death penalty but South Korea really sucks in this regard, with pardon for early release or leniency for behaviours under the influence of alcohol and that the country should do something about that.i just can't ever imagine a situation like this. nothing reminds me about the filth of human characters than when watching crime dramas :((
so Jang Jun Woo found out that Vincenzo is a ruthless mafia's consigliere, what's next?
reading people's comments on the drama page is fun because i am lazy to write my own LOL.another great episode. we've officially finished the first half of the drama. so much has happened and so many more twists and turns can take place still. honestly i am scared, really fckin scared.i really wish i could just stop here and pick it up again when it completes airing LOL but i think i can't quite let it go. basically i am doomed, LMAOOOO.
