Title Castaway Diva Spoiler
Bo Geol feels guilty because he have something to do with Ki Ho death.
aAah, the "various artists" calamity. I've got hard time to find some musician names. And these guys are indeed excellent. That plus another curse: great music from the drama isn't on the record with others, or have a singer version instead of the BGM. Then, I have to note which episode and timecode to listen to it again. πŸ˜–

It's out of topic, but I like the words in your profile. Also you specify you like BGM. Ditto, and people confuse it too much with OST. A friend made a topic about that:

I don't participate much these days for lack of time. And alas, lot of links where broken due to painful YT policies.

I just speculate on the hypothesis. Please, don't say me what is in the trailers. I do my best to never watch them and avoid spoilers.
He could be Bo Geol, but there is still a mystery about why he's so distant.

Ok so firstly: the leads are GREAT, namsoon can get a little too "bubbly" but she gets away with it most of the…
There are things I don't like in this drama, but it's more related to too much characters or too much time for boring side-plots.

Someone pointed out: it's not feminism, quite the opposite, it's a matriarchy parody. It's why it's so excessive about the way superstrong females are abusive, and it's somewhat funny.

But they also pay consequences: mother and grandma are impossible to live with, they made their husbands fly away, their couple were a disaster. Mother make her son takes dangerous pills, all guys call her a Tyran. And I don't expect grandma "love story" to succed.

What if they don't love her And what if she rejects both of them 😭😭😭😭😭
Episode 1 set-up a VERY strong relationship.
But it's true: not a love-story!!

Based on the writer past works, the male lead is the one who stick by the fl and sml is the behind-the-scene guy…
No. Just ONE work, Start-up. AND even there, it's not the same situation.

Great dramas often produce a magic we don't want to quit.
So we can rewatch many times and enjoy to stay in the drama universe.
Even when everything is then predictable during a rewatch.
Maybe we also enjoy to see it was better than what we saw first time.

Aren't most dramas predictable, though? I find them formulaic, and that's personally why I like them. I tune in…
I don't remember where I've got that, probably a book or article about screenwriting, or maybe it was about trailers, teasers or spoilers:

A study was made on different ways to tell a story, and find out audience prefer predictability or at least an enough predictable stability. Using surprise and being in the unknow cause lot of stress. So people are more interested in the "how and why it will happen?" than the "what will happen?".

A script is a lot about that: when give the information to the audience? Depending of the situation, what way is the more effective to produce the best emotion?

For example, episode 1, just before the title, we have a voice-over of Mok Ha and Ki Ho. They tell how differents they are, then they tell that soon the will become close. It's a teasing. It's not a voice-over happening now, but from their future self.

Mixed feelings on this drama. I hate dramas that are predictable from the first few episodes and this show is…
The first episode mostly show scenes you can't predict, and you are shocked about the truth and it deeply moves you. Just trust the writer. Even on a plot you predict, the writer will create so intense scenes that you don't know where you live anymore.
Plus, want to watch unpredictable drama? Watch W. https://mydramalist.com/16589-w

I insist, it's what I get from many viewers: they all want to know so much things about the mysteries. And about mysteries no longer mysteries: how it will turn out?! I think yourself say that too! You can't understand many points. So why? How?

I'm here to watch great writing, and until now, it's all I saw. It's not about the end and the final spot you expect (or think it's the real one), but about how we get here.

Way too many side plots, and can be boring ones like mother and mr bread, or the endless scenes of grandma with barista, now dancing on a bridge, while not much move at the core.
What's a pity, clownish moments and biggest stupidities remains what is best in this.

I don't buy anymore any romance in this and ship Namsoon with no-one.
Boyfriend should just do what is asked for:
breeding and support his daughter-bearing sperm in its sprint to the egg.
Should be done while mother and grandma watch the process and check everything is ok.

I liked a lot your last paragraph. The drama generates a lot of "want" for the audience.

In a room yes, but not in the situation they were, about to fall, on the edge of the wall. But it's not so important, I liked more this zombie drama than Walkind dead.

Writer Park Hye Ryun evaluated the island part, and didn't go in the survival. It's a choice because it's sure she watched the movie "Cast Away", that is about the rough life of a man alone on an island. In episode 2, a character speak about that movie.

Anyway, now I think you are angry with the drama. And it's sad, probably you won't enjoy it no matter what. Certainly, I can understand, I've got this kind of reaction for some dramas. Maybe you will drop it?

I'll watch it closely. I think this writer create magic and master storytelling like few of the best kdrama screenwriters, in her own style (often thematic about warm, tenderness, healing, crying scene coming from happyness, making dream comes true, achievement).
The way she build the scenes in episode 1 was awesome to me. Many means used to create the highest emotion. But each episode 1 of her other dramas are great too.

I agree the island part lacks some raw reality, as I already pointed out. Survival isn't the point of this. Quite the contrary, the director paints a dreamy atmosphere of the place where she lives. Clearly an artistic choice. But if I had to make a change on this part: I'd make Mok Ha sings a Ran Joo song while she stroll around.

About the boat, hiding won't solve the situation, when the boat go ashore later. And where to hide? Even if they report this to the boat manager, the law will be on the father side.
Also, it's Ki Ho decision: he feels a bit guilty and want to spare her any anguish. His plan is to stop her father before the boat start. I think it's enough relatable, and what provide the best emotion for the scene. Plus, it needs the time of the revelation of Ki Ho's past for Mok Ha when she looks his photos. After, the bag is gone in the fight.

I understand the writer choices. If she wanted to write a 100% realistic story, I'm sure she could. Just, what the point to do this if it can't trigger emotion for the audience? How many dramas have far more problematic issues? Probably I can find a lot.

Taking a drama from your list: All of Us Are Dead. I remember I noted a list of inconsistencies in this. I don't have the list in my memory except this point: An explosion make a building explode (or invaded by fire). However, when they go into it after that, it's a bit too much clean. And even: there is a plastic curtain intact! When it should have melt.
Oh! I remember another one: when two boys are in a dangerous situation on the wall of the school, and what they do? They talk about the girl. It was silly.
