this was a simple drama with a simple plot. basically, the friends to lovers plot executed pretty well in my opinion.…
This actress is amazing. She's in the very small club of actress able to make a love story believable, like Kim Tae Hee. She's feminine and add a lot of details in her acting. I became a fan right after watching her in World of the married. A difficult role.
I'm a bit too lazy to write a review, and just confirm your points about the lack of tension. And the feeling to spend so much time a bit everywhere. Also quite repeatitive (of course it's a loop, but still...). I couldn't rewatch that either. I enjoyed a first time, but that's all.
1. We can find ourselves an explanation, coming from the spiritual world: The ghost of Wang Meng Meng don't want people die, don't want her parents stay angry, all this because of her death. It's probably the best reason, as her mother see her as a ghost on the bridge at the end (can be an hallucination, but the meaning is the same). So, let's say the spirit of the dead one triggered this. And she want the world know why she died. To do that, she choose a girl like her, as the FL is in the same school and even have the same professor. It also connect with the fact the loop start when the FL is sleeping. Sleep - dream - spiritual world connexion.
2. No idea about that. I suppose we can stick that with the previous explanation. He killed Wang Meng Meng mother. Quite bad for the karma. So it's more linked to his action than the number of loops.
3. They explore the reason why they are in the loop. Get out of the bus before explosion. It's why the "cat" guy don't enter the loop. I didn't have time to enter the bus. Police officer Zhang didn't entered the bus too. He just catch the bomb by the windows and try to throw it in the water but BOOM. There's maybe any additionnal variables : to be asleep in the bus at the start.
By the way, did i missed out any part explaining why or how LSQ entered the loop in the first place?
No reason is really needed, it's a classic supernatural phenomenon "try it until you fix the world". We can find ourselves an explanation, coming from the spiritual world:
The ghost of Wang Meng Meng don't want people die, don't want her parents stay angry, all this because of her death. It's probably the best reason, as her mother see her as a ghost on the bridge at the end (can be an hallucination, but the meaning is the same). To do that, she choose a girl like her, as the FL is in the same school and even have the same professor. We can also link the phenomenon, needing to sleep with Dreams, so access to the spiritual world of dreams, allowing the spirit to trigger this.
There is one good song in the drama, but we hear it only once at the end. Essay (王啸坤) - Wake Up : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDnA_oIXEQc First parts (verse) are noteworthy, the refrain less.
The drama have some difficulties to stand on the long run. A bit repeatitive. Or just it takes too long on many scenes (transitions, duration). Could be better shorter. It's ok at the beginning, but after a while, the slow pace, the lack of pressure, the low cliffhanger feeling. Even when there are twists, we don't feel it so much. It's a quiet journey.
Last episode is ok, but except one shot (kind of ghost at 34:15), no real goosebump... ... until the resume scene with the song I posted. (45:45). The drama version is better for the scene as there is a musical intro before the singer. One of the rare montages of the drama. It's obvious it helps to shorten as well to have a better impact.
The concept was not new (groundhog day then others movies, dramas like manhole, feel good to die). Still, there was a good logic here, in the way the characters are smart and use it. The surnatural plot is more a background for the main situation/mystery about what happened. On this point, I'm not convinced by a plot point, sounds now cliché or quick plot-device. It needed to dig a bit, as it's the main reason why all this happens. The situation of the witness was still well handled.
About directing, quite classic, but there was an effort on many details. Makes the explosion and the wounds realistics for example. Provide an atmosphere.
I had forgotten about that scene in I'm not a robot hhanks for the reminder ❤️ I dropped psychopath disry…
I see you make articles about thematics. I was not on the website for month so I couldn't see the previous ones. I have a thematic to propose : the vilains. But not exactly the bigger ones (Lady Mishill is one of them), but rather, the ones that make you raise up of your seat and throw something at the screen so these guy make you furious. You give a good example of this with actor Baek Hyun Jin. This guy is so good at that.
So vilain that's make the audience react so much they makes us angry. If you didn't watched the dramas yet, I can give you the two most terrible vilains that's make you madly angry, and if you could cross the actor in the street, you would punch his face : Love in Sadness, Remember the war of the son. There is better big vilains in kdrama, but no ones so good at making you mad.
Sometimes you can have two vilains in a drama. The big one and another one, and it's the latest you hate the most. Takes for example Jung Ok Jung. The minister Min Yoo Joong is the big one. But the one you really hate is Queen Myung Sung. Her way to react is so annoying, she's horrible, always with nasty words to upset the FL.
I remember to see vilains of this kind in some dramas, but have difficulties to get them in my memory. Anyway, your watchlist is bigger than mine, and probably, you could end with a wide list of them. Probably among them, we have some mother in law or very annoying SFL. Lee Yu Beom in "while you were sleeping" is another good example.
About dark comedy and social satire, "The Penthouse" is very good. Even in her previous dramas, the writer was always good at that. In "Temptation of wife", I don't know if everybody could take it as dark comedy, but in a way it is, it's the way the writer makes all to make the protagonist suffer. It's insane.
Some bad character are good to make laugh, if we take it with recoil, the president in "The devil judge" for example. With his bunch of hypocritical politicals allies.
About specific scenes, the pyramid one was great! It's the kind of scene where the silly darling is broken. Less dark, we have that in "Im not a robot" when the FL breakes the house of cards then go in sleep mode.
I like when the writer makes the bad ones become mad. In "History of the salaryman", there is the scene where Mo Ga Bi carries a corpse in the elevator. And the writers enjoy to make that with additionnals problems.
In psychopath diary, the scene where he come back home with the police woman. All is done to make believe us she will read the diary. Finaly, he read himself in a mirror and... well watch the scene, it's so funny. Followed by another good scene when he read the full diary with flashbacks of crimes.
I think it was named Pluto ( also Hades which means God of the Underworld ) implying that she is actually is a…
Yes, it's what we guess from the beginning. In the episode KHW guess that too now. He thinks she is an human like him at this time. There is also a flashback when he remember her words (when she's grim repear) "I won't recognize you at this time". Normaly she has no memory to be a grim reaper later, as she's not dead and didn't come back in time. This situation could complicate greatly. Let's say, they fall in love. But... she has to die, else it create a time paradox and he can't come back in time. Just an hypothesis.
What I still don't get is Sae Byeok's involvement. I understand that she got super curious about the ghost, but…
Because we have to assume the time travel has this rule : when a character comes back to a point in time when it could match about age, instead of teleporting anywhere, the character teleport into themselves. Then, instead of having the memory of this time, they keep the memories they had before. This rule maybe very vague and broken several times. Also, it should create a temporary amnesy in the characters of that time once they leaves. The writer don't explain and show nothing about that. wooshh... under the rug.
everyone is shipping Kim Hee Woo with someone but i feel like there wont be enough time for romance in this drama
Ah! I wanted romance. Finaly understand there will be not. Finaly SBS produce a clip that's say... there should be one. IIIIIIII don't know now!!! I send you a PM for another subject.
A lot of good feeling and friendship in the drama. I like the relationship KHW have with the real estate old dealer. It's moving. ( °̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥◡͐°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥)

To helps, it's the scene on the truck, episode 9, 22:40.
As you pointed it, we get not much of the live of the protagonists. But it's not needed, we know who they are when we see how they react instead.
