Check it out guys. Bad news for all of us!! Season 3 will only air once a week. https://www.koreaboo.com/news/kdrama-penthouse-script-season2-end-season3-info/…
No many choices. Either they preproduce half the season 3, then we have to wait before airing, and airing is 2 episodes a week. Or the air it soon, but need more time for shooting so 1 episode a week.
I don't understand why every other kdrama is focusing on love triangle recently. And they r not even giving the…
Love triangle is a classic in kdramas. You say actual other kdrama about love triangle are disapointing ? Can you give me some examples please ? I don't watch many romcom these days, so I'm curious to know.
The thing is you can’t ship any character in this drama you just have to be neutral
You even have to take a step back because there is a lot of irony, dark comedy, or self-parody. It's an acting feast, about all these bad characters. I enjoy almost every scene of the drama, there is always something funny that catch my attention everywhere. It's nice to see these bad people struggle, become more mad, nervous breaking, breaking all objects around because anger, hurting and suffer each others. Exorbited eyes So-jin. Endless shocking plot-twists chain. :-D
OMG I HAD THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT!! That moment made me laugh. Such a strange choice of music and it was so abrupt…
Still, the moment music look like that is very short. Barely 10 seconds. First part of the theme is different. I think it's a good wink to Tony Stark, who also create a time machine. ;-)
i wonder that too, and i honestly found all ep. 11 confusing. were they wandering in time? or in memories? because…
Progressive fade of reality. Start with interacting with reality. Then invisible like ghost, hardly move a glass, then can only interact with other timeghosts. The process is like an oniric one ("time door" symbol), as the drug disrupt perception of time. So, psyche interact directly with when and where they go. It's something like that. It's a bit more fantasy than SF, but you can style give to it this kind of hair fetched explanation.
Could Sigma be Sun? Well, the way Sigma asked Tae Sul whether he remembers him or not, felt like Sigma is someone…
Like this, when Sigma appears in the subway (2001), he should look like Sun.
My new theory : Sigma is Tae Sul brother. So, birth family secret. Either : a additionnal brother. Or a brother switch. Could be Sigma switched with Tae Sul, or most likely, Sigma switched with Tae San. Then, the brother Tae Sul love is not his real brother. His real brother is Sigma. Two enemy with same level of genius.

Thank for you answer too. It's a quite a good explanation for balancing the two points of view. And I was curious to get that from someone who know or enjoyed the drama better than me.
For 4 years:- She is unable to take charge of her love life, otherwise she wouldn't have needed to activate the…
She should have bought a dog. The support effect would have been higher and she would not have hurt anyone. Sorry for that joke. ^^
The answer to your question, to the heart of the matter: - Hye Young becomes the guy who considers the love alarm important. - While Sun Ho becomes the guy who doesn't care about the love alarm anymore.
That's why Hye Young loses patience. The fact that Jojo cheats to make her love alarm ring is the proof that she doesn't love him and needs to use a trick. Of course Jojo has another ready-made explanation, which no one believes (Except Hye Young, lol). She just makes the choice to force herself to love him, even if she don't say it like that (which makes no more sense than all the other nonsense she does in the drama). If she loved him, she would have told the truth about the shield without waiting 4 years. And she would have told him that she simply loved him. In reality, she just needed that comfort relationship as a crutch. An unhealthy relationship on the long run, since it was one way. Which the guy accepts, but after all, he was stupid enough to never make any decision. As little reaction as an eternally dreamy teenager. He was unable to move on, as he was unable to confess his love when younger, or at least try something as little like, just speak with her.
On Sun Ho's side, he decided to do away with love alarms. To trust his instinct and desire. So he makes the decision to forgive, because he has always acted and always had the courage to take an initiative, even if he have to cross lines. The character, despite his clumsiness, reacts like a man.
Here, girls praise Hye Young's alleged human qualities as the nice guy, willing to accommodate the girl's needs. But the girl has the right to trash everything and not give anything or consider his needs? Sorry, this will never work. Love is giving and receiving. If a girl imagines that she can do that in life, she can immediately buy cats and make a permanent cross on men. A man is not a babysitter. He can respect, take care or protect a girl, but not in an absurd relationship where the timing has been exceeded.
And for those who are annoyed that Sun Ho tried to approach Jojo while she had a relationship (equally loveless, no one wonder with Jojo, lol) with another guy before: it would be good to reread the classics such as the story of King Arthur, Genever and Lancelot. Both lovers dare to live their love and the male character takes risks as much as the female character is receptive. Jojo is a failed Genever, who shrinks back into her snail's shell, and ends up as Madame Bovary. Any man who fall in love of a girl living a loveless relationship won't hesitate, and it's the right thing to do, but quite risky, because if the girl is happy with this kind of thing, you can expect a lot of troubles.
In traditional dramas, as in real life (which is thus depicted despite the fantasy aspect of dramas), guys like Hye Young never get the girl. It's cruel but fair. It's already too late from the beginning. They can play the doggie as long as they want, the girl always ends up falling in love with someone else. Whether it's the male lead in a drama, or another man who will come later, in the case of love alarm, if you consider that the relationship with Sun Ho is a painful love failure that is past and buried.
Hye Young was just a comforting and boring balm, like an old friend, or brother. The girl can sleep without taking any risk, like the sleeping beauty, this guy will never wake her up, she need the right man kiss for that. As well Yook Jo was a comforting balm for Sun Oh, and maybe a sexfriend too. And all he can feel for her at the end is pity (the scene when she cries tight to him was beautiful and poignant). He's decision to wait to love her make no more sens. Never in life it could happens. When you meet a woman, you now fast you could potentialy love her (even if it's not done, could fail, or feeling are still shorts at this point), and that never happened here. He could wait 20 more years without ring the love alarm. This drama is really about comfort relationships, so, unhealthy ones because it's not love but chosen arrangements. At this point, as well wait the mother in law choose the wife in a cheabol family. So, about the "spear" scene on the bridge, I take the fact the scene was shot during sunset as a symbolism of soul extinction. But I'm also ok with another symbolism like "last chance before the night". We can see Yook Jo+Sun Ho "ultimatum" scene was also during sunset.
The funny thing is that if we are logical with the drama, and Jojo gets married with Hye Young, this is exactly what will happen to her some time later. She will have an extramarital relationship, and will quickly break up with Hye Young if she has the courage (With her, not sure). It's ok to make a drama called World of the Maried season 2, the cuckold will be the guy, so Hye Young, this time.
Of course, all this makes the audience angry. Not only because it's about Sun-Ho and the girls are fangirling Sun-Ho. I'm a man, and can't fangirling Sun-Ho, only one I'm fanboying is Kim So-Hyun (which was perfect both about to be pretty and acting here). This makes people angry because it's a fake love story, which they try to pass off as real. What people explain awkwardly by the expression "there is no chemistry". It could have been successful as a bitter social satire.
There is a drama which plays well with this impossibility for the passive guy to become the final lead, it is Manhole. The drama is very funny, and finds a very special trick to arrange the life of the hero. And even more funny, the drama shows that the poor guy had almost no chance, even if he lived several lives. Then another drama that chooses a very daring solution: Jealousy Incarnate. I'm not sure this love story could work on the long run however.
I gladly take as true your explanation about the confusing effect generated by this damn application! It doesn't help Jojo's already emotionally difficult life because of her childhood trauma. If we are logical with the tempo of the dramas, there is no chance for her to succeed even if she has resolved her trauma, as long as she has not paid back her debt for all the harm she has caused by her new decisions since then. But that evaporates like magic here.
I'll say it again: I'm not an expert on this drama. It was too boring and flat for me and I have a hard time keeping it in my memory. That's my general impression after watching it. But if the impression the drama leaves is that, there is something wrong. There are surely details that need to be better examined. Such as the trigger that pushed Jojo to at least try something (even if she does the wrong thing). The accident with the psychopath for example. There are other things to examine, like Jojo accepting Sun-Ho's last kiss. Which is the last thing you want to do when a guy cares that much about her and she doesn't care. To think that she's doing anything to break him. When at this point in the story, she should have moved on.
This is a rare drama I have watched in which the main female lead is in charge of her love life and makes her…
For 4 years: - She is unable to take charge of her love life, otherwise she wouldn't have needed to activate the shield in front of Sun-Ho, or would have accepted her feelings for Hye Young, if they had existed. - She doesn't solve her problems, she has no real feelings for anyone, which would make her accelerate this. - She is dependent on a guy for her emotional comfort and to make her daily life more bearable. - A guy who doesn't support her anymore because he lets her languish in inaction. "Do nothing, I support you in that". :-) - A guy who is simply more patient than the previous one because he is afraid of losing her. - And who finally loses his patience suddenly when he learns that she lied. Not supporting her at all, while the previous guy is still willing to forgive her.
The whole drama revolves around this theme of a girl who is lost and unable to know where she is going, unable to take charge of her life, except for working at the grocery store. Besides, there are tons of voice-overs where she is constantly questioning herself. It what make the drama quite funny as well.
It's an acting feast, about all these bad characters. I enjoy almost every scene of the drama, there is always something funny that catch my attention everywhere. I can barely watch because of the trails of tears on the screen.
So ridiculous, and x2 times !!! :-D
